@PFieroGT87 i ended up buyn a 99 regal. it has the 3800 series2 in it..it has a good amount of power hahha i bought it with 150 000 and put over 900 miles on it in two weeks speeding everywhere and taking of fast. who ever ownd it took good care of it nothing at all went wrong with it untill one day i decided to powerslide it alot hahha and i decide to take a turn to late and powerslide into a curb goin around 30mph ...im picking it up tomorow ..i spent 1500 to fix the bent a frame and othr stuf

Actually no i didn't goggle anything i don't use goggle for anything i have a book that list's all the info for all 5 gen's of the GA even the model like SE,SE1,SE2,GT and GT1. Also i own a 5th gen GT1 it will do every bit of 150 only cause i have the engine modded and GM did make a 5pd turbo GA it was the SC/T however it GM didn't think it would sell so the car and it's twin both got shredded.

they aren't fast, but don't undercut them. not everybody drives a 500HP car as a daily driver. my GAGT gets 27mpg and is still faster than civics and alot of economy cars in its class

point is, gagt's are just torque beasts, they are slow for passing on the freeway. i used to own one and drove it like a ricer, beat the piss out of it, i know how slow they are.

the transmission is the weakest part of the car.the engine is not the problem, the gear ratios are. if it had 5 speed with closer ratios the car would be much faster than it is. i saw a guy take a 6 speed manual from a G6 and that made a big difference in the acceleration, etc...

granted it may take a while to pull that top speed but MOST cars are like that to begin with.

Sorry to burst your bubble but unless your car was made in canada or you ordered a tranny from there and converted your car to standard there is no such thing as a manual tranny GA. The only manual tranny that was ever made for the GA in the US was the GA SC/T that was never produced also your GAGT stock will top out at 128 mph @4800 rpm

And you're wrong about the GA never being a manual, the 4 cylinder versions had 5 speeds as on option. The V6 model never saw the manual.

Yeah i have only see one GA converted over to rwd with a v8 it was at a car show and the guy that owned it. I think he said he ran a body kit shop called AED body kits or something like that but it was a slick ride.

@DystruktoBoi1 Who knows it could have very well been one of the over stock car's GM produced for canada hence the standard shift,as for gm sticking standards behind 4 cylinder's yeah,they have this thing were for some reason or another they don't want to put anything bigger then a 2.2 or 2.4 .I know they never came through with the concept version of the caviler that was going to have a ecotec 4cyl with an eaton super charger and 5 spd trans or the concept beretta with a V8 aka the feretta.

@poetikplaya I have a 3.8L V6 in a Pontiac Bonneville, basically a more luxury Grand Am, I agree I'm calling 138 bullshit, I gave my car all it had, foot on the floor, for 2.5 straight miles, got it barely to 130, and I've got mods on it, CAI, TBS, flashed PCM with race tunings and performance spark plugs.....and I smoked a GA-GT on my way to work not long ago, a black coupe with the RAM air hood, this was also before the race tunings, all I had was a CAI at that time.
