Do you know Andy was making a verbal business plan to open a hotel, and offer guests a service (fishing) in this scene? It's so beautifully spoken, it's hard to catch the business strategy. Andy Dufresne is awesome.
What a brilliant team of very gifted people! Holliwood ought to produce more movies like this. But its clear you cant have a masterpiece produced on a daily babsis. They still have a good score anyway. Although the last good movie I saw was probably the American beauty. But I am sure there've been more. I haven't seen them all
"For the second time in my life, im guilty of committing a crime.. a role violation."
Swaping roles is key to solitude and Im glad that even a convict can break loose like Red did. Please people! Tsotsi is another movie you´ll love. Slightly rough, but it´ll wet your eyes in the end. ;)
none of you know me...but one of the coolest things in my life was the time I spent in mexico. I got hired to work for ClubMed in Ixtapa...a town just 10 minutes north of Zihuatanejo.
I love this movie...it is prob my fav. and the fact I got to move to Andy's town was random.
ABSOLUTLY! You are right - well hes lost all the oscars to Forrest Gump. Forrest Gump wasn't bad. But gee, this one is for me the best movie/story ever made!
The ending was perfect...and in the back of your mind you know that no one is ever going to catch either one of them... they were going to be fishing on the pacific for the rest of their lives... .
great music , such a poetical and emotionnal scene. There's a user who did a wonderful video : it begins with the main theme and pics, then a Tim Robbins interview and ends with a report about the shawshank prison. I don't know why the guy removed this video.

This film is like nothing else. Its worth reading the book. In the book Andy actually signs the letter to Red: Your Friend, Peter Stevens.
