Are you saying God loves people, therefore, if you don't "accept" God God will torture you? Yeah, that really makes a lot of sense. The lengths people will go to to excuse or justify the idea(s) of a torturing, genocidal, ultra-vicious "God" are really astounding. God's "holiness" demands that billions of people be tortured? Then he isn't loving, is he? Then he makes Hitler look like a really nice guy. Hitler only tortured a few million. Does your "God" (i.e. religion) make any sense?

I remember in suffering saying, "God gives transendent joy in suffering." I also have many times longed for those days. And this word, reflected in God's word, reminds me of why. I need to be careful not to run to safety, but run to Jesus!

He is a good speaker. And so humble. For all his talent he insists that this loving God will definitely throw billions into Hitler-like ovens in Hell, so they can scream forever. Huh? Love = torture? What? Righteousness = Infinite Pain? There is something wrong here. If suffering is to God's Glory, as Chan claims, then we should be whooping it up for the years of anguish "God" has in store for people who think Chan and his message is too cruel, too sociopathic to be true.

I think that if more Christians lived like we were called to live, people would think of us differently. Just look at the church in Acts. People knew that they were different by the way they lived.

I'm not saying that I'm perfect... in fact, I definitely don't live like I should. But if we lived a life completely rooted in Him, we would be different. And people would notice not us, but the Jesus inside of us.

That's a completely invalid criticism. Did you listen to the first five minutes and give up? Mentioning "Mario Kart" about 30 seconds of his message and not even the point.

Francis Chan has given all his royalties from his books to causes like Children's Hunger Fund and his former ministry has given millions to hurting people. He is one of the most giving pastors out there. Read up.
