@lokna It's called taking over the enemy and forcing an early rise to the nation of Great Britain. I'll have Great Britain in just the first 5 years or so of the 1400s because they declared war on me alongside France. I'm just letting France take the couple territories on the western coast of France while I invade Scotland. Mission about complete already and then for Ireland's takeover next. THEN I can focus a bit more on other nations. For now, just selecting a few larger nations for royal
@lokna Nah, he probably just united with Scotland a few centuries ahead of schedule. A typical EU3 game starts in 1399, after all. Plenty of time for a skilled player to establish a Personal Union and inherit the Scottish throne.
hello, I have a question. What "role" do you play in this game? who are you in this game? I mean, if i'm correct, you do not play the King of the nation you choose and you do not play the role of a general. so who are YOU (the player) supposed to be in this game?? some shady, unnamed person behind the nation manipulating events, or what? one of those Jews. perhaps?
@MustNotRead Essentially you play as the "gray eminence" behind the throne. You have a hand in deciding everything, but at the same time you ironically have no control over the events that happen in real time-besides troop and naval movement, but that is pretty much it.
Ah. I actually love this game. I actually lost my saves though - I was Russia (Can't remember the name before that) I conquered All of Norway, Sweden, Denmark and some of Bohemia. I actually became allies with England and I gave them a few parts up at Russia to help me in wars. I took some of Ireland when they were warring with them too so I could help them in a french war. I then conquered about 80% of Europe at the end - took AGES though. lol.
id have been playing this game for a while, and i have a big question in mind:
it is worth to play it in deep? i mean, there is a lot of games that look great but if you reallly start to care for them in the end they aren't woth, because the creators of the game didn't put that effort on it. SOOO, my point is, is this game that good to do the effort to read all the manual details and develop a great stratey?
hope someone understnd my question, im very bad at english XD.
@PlayerOblivion with who ? if u are at war with a country like France, Castille(spain) or austria and than you are juts like the swiztland or a country like that i think it is game over except if you offer money tribute
@gtamateur I was at war with Norway, Denmark and Castille. I made Norway my Vassal and held off Denmark with my navy. But Castille had such an incredible manpower. They sent infantry all over my country making it impossible with my low manpower to hold em off. In the end i offered 300 ducats. At least i got Norway.
I noticed that when i merged my armies into one big army, they where easily defeated. But having 15-20 armies together proved to be unstoppable! I can siege a level 3 fort in seconds ;D
@RTWfan1234 you must develop a naval tech(it's low lvl,I think it's around 5-6 or something),the naval block itself is default, you just put the ships in the water that borders a land province
It is so hard... You need to worry about the fools next to you, your national debt, inflation, other Europeans powning everyone on the other side of the ocean and the crazy amount of options and interface things...
You can play with a Dutch faction, it's a bit harder and your first objective should be to unite netherlands (which is hard as hell because of Burgundy)
Hi everyone, I need some help. Can anyone pls tell me what map mod is used in this video. Perhaps smn has a download link. I'd be really very greatful.
I'am playing EU3 for the first time and fighting the 100 years wars (currantly the 5th war) as England, with a useless alliance of Portugal and Aragon against the mighty France and Castile. Its so fun, tho my troops have no chance against the French generals which are kicking my ass lol
How can you get a high military tradition without battles? I want some decent generals to fight France.
i would like the EU & Rome series alot more if they had more depth in the military side of it. like hearts of iron. i mean the EXTREEEEMLY deep diplomacy aspect is cool for awhile, but all of your armies are just infanty, calvery, and artillery.... no research into specific kinds of firearms or artillery, or warfare doctrines ect.or the ability to train different kinds of infantry or artillery, all of the depth of these games is centered around diplomacy only. kinda kills it for me.
I didn't know shit in the begining, but after some playing you learn a lot of stuff, i couldnt pla with catille properly, but after some playing i choose Bosnia with two provinces, and i conquered OTTOMAN EMPIRE and SICILY...
Two, if you include Alsace-Lorraine. But France was pretty under-represented. Even England has three provinces in Europe, which was what the heck? They should at least have four to five provinces. Same deal with Spain as well.
Two, if you include Alsace-Lorraine. But France was pretty under-represented. Even England has three provinces in Europe, which was what the heck? They should at least have four to five provinces. Same deal with Spain as well.
I guess that is the problem, no nation on earth could threaten England except...herself and France, keeping the balance of power is a lot of more fun than world conquest.
I dunno, sometimes the CPU can make a pretty damn good china or mughal empire. Occasionally russia will become a superpower or austria, just without france, if you conquer spain and portugal then you can become the only colonial power making world conquest possible, but by no means guarantee'd if Ming emerges as a power or Russia/Austria
Russia is a real headache, 500K standing army, no matter how you blockade them, they are still alive and kicking. But Ming and Austria, it is possible to drain their resources (sow discontent, blockade), take it slow, organize your plan for invasion, kill some of their troops, eventually they will crumble.
I had a game that both England and France broke themselves up into pieces, leaving only Portugal and Spain competing.
Ofcourse, the greatest power in the game is a united germany...which it seems if the AI achieves (rare), will within about 50 years completely dominated all non-player nations in the whole of europe. =p
I need help I am making a mod of the Three kingdoms and I can only mod the map and the faction but not the event can someone give me link on how to make mod pls help:(
I liked how this map looks, now I have the in nomine expansion and the map looks like the first one really ugly, oh and the computer uses a lot of cheats they suddenly jump from -3 to +3 stability, they develop technologies extremely fast and their armies have a lot of morale, honestly the game turned lame.
I started playing this game and I have to say,Victoria economy system is a walk in the park compare to this game. This game is good but somehow I find the battle system and the economic system rather not as good as other Paradox product such as victoria and hoi but still having fun playing it.Now I'm having problem with inflation so can you help me?
@puylanitar all of what you speak is true, but I usually mint sometimes slowly, and by the time I can grab tax accessors I only have 20 inflation, so you can lower them faster. The key is not over doing monthly income. I only mint so I dont lose or gain ducats per month, because I need money for my armies. :)
@noveras i agree with you the system is very kinda basic and a bit idiot(you keep your money for treasury to go finance future war u inflation go up ???? WTF!) but still fun of the diplomatic part but really if they did Eu 4 the economy should be very improve
Wow a reply after a yeat?hahahahhahah well his game have improve tremendously since my post. The expension Heir To The Throne really make waging war and controlling inflation a lot easier than the first version. Now my problems is to make sure my infamy points go red hahahahahaha
@gtamateur The game 'For the Glory: A Europa Universalis game' could be considered europa universalis 4, but as far as I know, the graphics are the same as europa universalis 2
guys can any one here actualy help me i never raaly figured out when i take one country s provinces and make its colors crosed with mine how can i fully take the country D: sorry for my bad spelling etc
well, to make the provinces that you've conquered permanantly yours you have to click on the "sue for peace" button after you select the country you're fighting and then "take tribute" or something like that and ask for them (the provinces)...to completly conquer a country you must first reduce it to one province , then conquer it and click "anex"....it's kinda complicated at first but it's a really cool game !
Both series have got the same idea, but this does not have the realtime battles. This is basically a full-on empire management game. On one hand, there's many more options when spying, managing your economy etc. But on the other you don't have full control over the battles.
So no, they are definitely not the same. Similar, but with their own brand of gameplay.
the only problem I have with this game is that all country's act nothing like they should, portugal getting colonies in north america, russia never springs up from moscovy and novgorod, and so on, on that part HI2 is better other then that great game
if I play as ex. england I would like to be draged in to the 30 year war or the 7 year war or the napoleonic wars but no real actual wars ever happens. and that's then not as much fun. you can only go in to these wars by start playing when they occur and even then all nations can end the 30 year war in a day. Now as for you don't call me a moron, A fucking american has no right to call anybody a moron
I prefer the AI to act unexpectedly so its always different each time you play. However it would also be fun if you could re-inact some historical wars without having waste time pulling strings to force it.
any person that is so full of them selves as to actually claim that all people from their country are better than all people from another country should be killed. its not a question of which country or society is better its a question of which person is so stupid as be claim superiority over a different group of people
how do i annex a country, i play as Norway and have all regions of Denemark. but the annex button is grayed out. Denemark has Hamburg and Gotaland as vassals, does that make any differense? (i own Hamburg and Gotaland)
in my game France is extremely powerfull ,by the 16th century they have conquered or annexed a big portion of Europe and they are extremely powerfull on land(nearly undefeatable for me) combat because they just focus on military ideas.
Well I have played this game for some time and I have a problem with the sieges. I don't know why, but when I attack a 1000 man fort with 10 000 men then my morale drops incredibly quickly and I lose the battle. How do I make an effective assault like you did?
the hundred years war was from 1337-1453 which is about 400 years before the formation of the united kingdom. Why then are you playing as the united kingdom when it wasn't even formed at the time? Either the people who made the game are retarded or you really need to change the title of this video.
I haven't played any of the Europa Universalis games but I'm interested in this kind of game. What is the learning curve? I play civ4 a lot, which had no ingame tutorial and took me a few days to learn. How is Europa Universalis III in comparison.
what are your graphic settings on this, i'm not sure if i got mine on the lowest and i have a pretty new computer and still runs a bit slow, not to it's max speed, it's lagging.
first nice game,i dont now what is the version i guess that is in nomine, qustion for you how you can fight with france?the have big manpower than G.Britanny even if they realy have high WE they can still have strong army so this not easy to fight with them but mayby this is mather of version i have ver 3.1 in nomine and i must say that if you wont figt with france you must have strong alliance with spain and bohemia or with burgundy this is mather of tactic an strategy nice GAME
First all I play with 3.1 version. You need to block their ports using your float (this will give you money and their WE will be really big). Then, the spies can help you to decrease their's stability.
With 20 of WE and -3 stability you only need to disembark a great army and kill a lot of french soldiers. If you have a good ally (like Spain) it's really easy.
Remember: your navy is your great advantage and your army only arrives on the continent when France has a lot of WE.

You can download it at Paradox's forum, by searching "theatrum Orbis terraum eu3 3.0" at google.

guys can any one here actualy help me i never raaly figured out when i take one country s provinces and make its colors crosed with mine how can i fully take the country D: sorry for my bad spelling etc
gyp430 2 years ago
well, to make the provinces that you've conquered permanantly yours you have to click on the "sue for peace" button after you select the country you're fighting and then "take tribute" or something like that and ask for them (the provinces)...to completly conquer a country you must first reduce it to one province , then conquer it and click "anex"....it's kinda complicated at first but it's a really cool game !

Is this the same as Empire Total war? because i don't see any real time strategy parts which i think is the fun part
BlowingWindz 2 years ago
Both series have got the same idea, but this does not have the realtime battles. This is basically a full-on empire management game. On one hand, there's many more options when spying, managing your economy etc. But on the other you don't have full control over the battles.
So no, they are definitely not the same. Similar, but with their own brand of gameplay.

the only problem I have with this game is that all country's act nothing like they should, portugal getting colonies in north america, russia never springs up from moscovy and novgorod, and so on, on that part HI2 is better other then that great game
FilipH86 2 years ago
Stupid point. The AI shouldn't act in way you expect them to. That would make it boring and repetitive.
refuckulate420 2 years ago 3
no it's not YANK, it's total chaos,
FilipH86 2 years ago
Right that's what war is you moron.
refuckulate420 2 years ago
if I play as ex. england I would like to be draged in to the 30 year war or the 7 year war or the napoleonic wars but no real actual wars ever happens. and that's then not as much fun. you can only go in to these wars by start playing when they occur and even then all nations can end the 30 year war in a day. Now as for you don't call me a moron, A fucking american has no right to call anybody a moron
FilipH86 2 years ago
I do have a right and I will continue to exercise it as long as dumb shits like you decide to say stupid things.
refuckulate420 2 years ago
it's actually funny to be called dumb form an american
FilipH86 2 years ago
It's actually funny you're that ignorant you need to stereotype people.
refuckulate420 2 years ago 2
I prefer the AI to act unexpectedly so its always different each time you play. However it would also be fun if you could re-inact some historical wars without having waste time pulling strings to force it.

any person that is so full of them selves as to actually claim that all people from their country are better than all people from another country should be killed. its not a question of which country or society is better its a question of which person is so stupid as be claim superiority over a different group of people

Defeating the French this early is easy. Let them grow for 100 years and then try ;-)

how do i annex a country, i play as Norway and have all regions of Denemark. but the annex button is grayed out. Denemark has Hamburg and Gotaland as vassals, does that make any differense? (i own Hamburg and Gotaland)
beuregard777 2 years ago
you must eliminate all Denmark armies and navies as well...
saggsett 2 years ago
You can only annex a country when they only have a single province left
marmin88 2 years ago
you can only demand tribute and take all the provinces but the capital then u gotta wait 5 years and declare war again then u can annex
opp31337 2 years ago
in my game France is extremely powerfull ,by the 16th century they have conquered or annexed a big portion of Europe and they are extremely powerfull on land(nearly undefeatable for me) combat because they just focus on military ideas.

Well I have played this game for some time and I have a problem with the sieges. I don't know why, but when I attack a 1000 man fort with 10 000 men then my morale drops incredibly quickly and I lose the battle. How do I make an effective assault like you did?
RainOfLulz 2 years ago
1 There is a national idea that gives you morale
2 A good general will help you to win the siege
3 Attack always when you have 100% morale
4 You can wait some time until they get weak, then, attack
5 You can use a spy to surrender the defenders (it's not very expensive, I don't remember exactly but I think it cost about 25-50)

Can u even fight in this game ? or is it only campain ?
iSteven00 2 years ago
Only campain.
puylanitar 2 years ago
the hundred years war was from 1337-1453 which is about 400 years before the formation of the united kingdom. Why then are you playing as the united kingdom when it wasn't even formed at the time? Either the people who made the game are retarded or you really need to change the title of this video.
cwlhandluc 2 years ago
I started playing with England but I conquered Scotland and Ireland. Then, I formed Great Britanny.
In this game you can (obviously) change the history, and this is what I have done.

I haven't played any of the Europa Universalis games but I'm interested in this kind of game. What is the learning curve? I play civ4 a lot, which had no ingame tutorial and took me a few days to learn. How is Europa Universalis III in comparison.
undeadnightorc 2 years ago
It isn't hard. I think it's easier than Civ4.
And, in Eu3, you have some tutorials in-game, so you can learn the basic features in some hours.

what are your graphic settings on this, i'm not sure if i got mine on the lowest and i have a pretty new computer and still runs a bit slow, not to it's max speed, it's lagging.
dermatlmann 3 years ago
Can be because I use a graphic mod (TOT 3.0).
I have a good computer: 4 Gb RAM, Nvidia 9.800 GTX, 6 Ghz processor...
PD: I didn't do anithing to my graphic settings.

first nice game,i dont now what is the version i guess that is in nomine, qustion for you how you can fight with france?the have big manpower than G.Britanny even if they realy have high WE they can still have strong army so this not easy to fight with them but mayby this is mather of version i have ver 3.1 in nomine and i must say that if you wont figt with france you must have strong alliance with spain and bohemia or with burgundy this is mather of tactic an strategy nice GAME
lion9315 3 years ago
First all I play with 3.1 version. You need to block their ports using your float (this will give you money and their WE will be really big). Then, the spies can help you to decrease their's stability.
With 20 of WE and -3 stability you only need to disembark a great army and kill a lot of french soldiers. If you have a good ally (like Spain) it's really easy.
Remember: your navy is your great advantage and your army only arrives on the continent when France has a lot of WE.
