ive been blade fighting for a long time, i just gaught a pair of kendo practice swords, the only problem with that training is that if you ever used a katana or ninjato you find youre strikes are off balance because of wieght change.

These are practice drills not fighting. The first part is men, men-tai-atari-men. The second part is kiri-kaeshi.

@Papouts0matis they are doing kakaigeiko in the begining then finish with kirikaeshi, the later builds stamina, speed and precision.

@insanemax21 I don't think you can be quiet in kendo. Since I think you need to shout what part of the body of the enemy you're hitting and the name of your move.

I teach myself, yeah I'd like to have a teacher in person but so far I've done okay with just instructional videos. Hey my towns Tai Kwon Doe dojo teaches kendo do you usually have to know other martial arts first?

No but it helps i were red belt in Tae Kwon Do

You don't need to have any prior martial arts experience to practice kendo. Check the All US Kendo Federation (AUSKF) page for a list of dojos in your state.

That's part of the drill. It's called kakarigeiko and when you're on the receiving end, you open various targets for the other person to hit as fast as they can.
