Then after I picked up a Nugget in a cow farm West of Ecruteak, I abused this glitch again to duplicate Sudowoodos' each holding a Nugget! This allowed me to sell each nugget for 5,000 and boy am I already getting rich! :P

I remember this glitch. It's called "The Savi glitch." When you go to change your box to duplicate your party pokemon, turn off the power on SAVI or anytihng before that but the best results is SAVI or SAV.

You will have to replace the internal battery in your game cartridge before you can do this. If you are familiar with a soldering iron, this should be a piece of cake. You may buy a new battery from anywhere on the internet, as long as the voltage is similar and it will fit inside the cartridge.

If you feel uncomfortable doing anything like this, you may get assistance from someone with a little more experience, or you can beg Nintendo to repair it (allthough I can't guarantee they'll do it).

@HazeeqFogger I'm sorry to tell, but you can only get 1 masterball per game unless you clone it first using the method explained here. Of course, you can always use a gamegenie or other cheating device (if you got one) with a masterball cheat for your spesific game.

well you can try the lotto in the radio tower and see if your pokemon has the same ID then you get a master ball but the chances are 1 of 99999 so good luck!

@starchange There migth be a slight chance that you have corrupted the savegame. This is one of the risks of doing this, and it may cause various faults depending on how badly it is corrupted. You may try to just save the game, restart, and try again, but if that doesn't work, you'll have to start a new game in order to fix it.

In what way are you "restarting"?

The emulator has a "reset" option under the file menu, and it should work if you select this option at the rigth time.

After all, I strongly suggest that you actually use real hardware when playing gameboy games. The games aren't designed to be played in emulators, and most imporiantly, you don't risk breaking any laws (in case you don't own the game).

First of all, restarting the game when it restarts in the video will NOT work on crystall.

When doing it on an emulator on a PC, make sure to turn all kinds of speed boosts off. In addition, don't close the emulator when doing the trick, use the hotkey for "reset" instead. However, the best thing would be to buy the real game and play that instead.

It all depends on the emulator. If you can reset without closing the emulator, it should theoretically work, however, some emulators may manage the saved data in such a way that you can't do this trick.

Both Gold and Silver are known for using low-quality batteries for saving the state of the game. This has nothing to do with the trick described here.

To fix the problem, replace the battery inside the game-cartridge, or contact a Nintendo Repairshop.

I did this on my silver, and I think (know) something went wrong. Instead of a clone, it made a missingno. When i throw it out in battle it has no name, and looks my my character from the start of a battle. I used a potion on it and it turned into the pixellated blob. Turns out that you hit the off button when exactly the data for that pokemon was saved. Because of this, half of the data about it was saved, and stuff like Pokemon number and "apperance" is undefined.

In Pokemon Red/Blue, it's possible to find undefined pokemons like that if you follow a certain procedure.
