This is one of the few albums that didn't need to grow on me. As soon as I heard it I was in love with it. By far my favorite Incubus album yet... Maybe because I can connect with EVERY song, as it has every little bit of pain I've been through emotionally. If I weren't with my two brothers, I would've cried up a storm. There is so much emotion in this album, I don't even know what they will do 3 years from now. & no I do not feel guilty downloading it as I will be buying both vinyl and the cd.
Lol, people fell in love with Incubus for being true to themselves and now the same people want Incubus to stop what they're doing and do what a bunch of people tell them to do instead.
Fair enough Pistola, but it still sucks. The variety and depth of sound is obviously there, and it's clear they didn't just hurl it up on the page. Adolescents is good, but the rest just puts me to sleep. It just doesn't captivate like some of the older albums did. It happens to bands, unfortunately. So maybe if enough of us complain, they will bring back the groovy, uptempo stuff from Morning View, Make Yourself, and S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
My God some of you assholes are infuriating. Sorry the new album didn't perfectly align with your preconceived notions of what it "should" sound like. Maybe you would rather them make the same damn album 6 times and never evolve, mature and grow as people as well as musicians. If you come at this album with an open mind, patience and maturity maybe you will be able to realize the unlimited beauty and power it holds even if it isn't an album you can "rock out" to.

I'm listened to the new album, and even if i'm a big fan since ACLOTM i don't recognize incubus anymore.... Did they forget to record mike? No more distortion, or saturated guitar.... Hope the show will be still as fun as before!

@stlfocus Well, from what I heard I only liked a couple of songs I heard and the rest was just, "meh" I know they like to do different sounds and all but from what I'm hearing nothing is really that different , just a bunch of mellow songs in the incubus style. Just because it's all mellow it doesn't make it much different, it doesn't differ too much from their other mellow songs on their other albums. If they were going to do the mellow approach I think blues and funk would be good.

I can't believe Surface to Air isn't on it and call me greedy but maybe even an incubus version of Runaway train with the orchestra would have be nice. They have deliberately hindered and sabotaged their what has made them great all for the sake of sticking to their sound changing philosophies

Whenever I listen to Incubus, it gives that feeling of discovering a song you've heard, loved, and never knew the name of. I've never heard this song before, but it's striking chords that remind me of things of unknown origin. Why aren't they on top of the world?
Ah....they can do no wrong in my opinion. This is just an appetizer for the new album. Happy and anxious just like I always am when I get the buzz of a new album in the works. Guess I will have to dredg the net for any snippets of new stuff until I can get my fix!
i like the fact that their sound is ever-evolving and clearly influenced by a myriad of different genres. i, personally, think it's refreshing that it's difficult to pinpoint incubus into one, specific genre. i think their next album is going to be their best yet...especially after hearing brandon's solo stuff where he delves into the deeper register of his voice that we haven't heard that much of since the Closet Cultivation demo recordings and Fungus Amongus!
If the written lyrics I have read for this song are accurate, it really has a message that goes beyond most other lyricists. Not that this surprises me from Brandon:)

Gorgeous song. Even in a little hall like this, brandon sounds amazing and Michael well, is just awesome all the time too!! The people are so privileged to get such an intimate performance, this band is so huge...and so opportunities like this are rarer than a lion wearing a suit. Awesome. :) Love you Incubus.x

@lbomb8 i agree, isadore, thieves, adolescents, and tommorrows food is ok, otherwise very disappointing.
I can't believe Surface to Air isn't on it and call me greedy but maybe even an incubus version of Runaway train with the orchestra would have be nice. They have deliberately hindered and sabotaged their what has made them great all for the sake of sticking to their sound changing philosophies

This one sounds amazingly pure, it reminds me of the melodies and emotions Jeff Buckley was able to spread out.Thank gifted people for keeping exploring their ways and taking us with them for surreal and unknown dimensions...forever gratefull for that, Incubus.

Whenever I listen to Incubus, it gives that feeling of discovering a song you've heard, loved, and never knew the name of. I've never heard this song before, but it's striking chords that remind me of things of unknown origin. Why aren't they on top of the world?

Ah....they can do no wrong in my opinion. This is just an appetizer for the new album. Happy and anxious just like I always am when I get the buzz of a new album in the works. Guess I will have to dredg the net for any snippets of new stuff until I can get my fix!

i like the fact that their sound is ever-evolving and clearly influenced by a myriad of different genres. i, personally, think it's refreshing that it's difficult to pinpoint incubus into one, specific genre. i think their next album is going to be their best yet...especially after hearing brandon's solo stuff where he delves into the deeper register of his voice that we haven't heard that much of since the Closet Cultivation demo recordings and Fungus Amongus!

If the written lyrics I have read for this song are accurate, it really has a message that goes beyond most other lyricists. Not that this surprises me from Brandon:)

Like I said, I love EVERYTHING incubus does but, it would be great if we get one more album in the old school style, because the new sounds(while great) is starting to get old and repetitive. Would be quite refreshing to return to their roots.

@Doyledeth I agree with you man, i mean, new incubus is still amazing and wonderful and it doesnt suck, it just doesnt follow its roots. i think it old incubus stopped at Morning View, when they lost Dirk, they lost that underlying funky jazzy sound.

i beleive that its more accurate to say that they dont reflect so obviously their roots as when they played with dirk ( there is some funk on a crow left of the murder)but hell even if you hear a morning view and fungus amongus its tough to see the resemblance
i,e, compare medium to anything in the mornig view

Gorgeous song. Even in a little hall like this, brandon sounds amazing and Michael well, is just awesome all the time too!!
