Psychosis? I think so, I mean all animals have a fragile mind just like ourselves. My dog is bi polar (like me, go figure) and Ive seen a few pets go through mental illness. Not as a vet, but as an avid animal lover. give him a kiss for me :)
yes your bird has a major psychosis. it is best to kill him and pluck the feathers to use in a home made pillow as you watch his tiny bare chicken wing shaped body bleed and wither away.
Anyone want a pair of Quakers ? There names are Archie & Edith and as much as It would break my heart,I need to find a (GREAT) home for them.Archie is ok,friendly but he doesn't like being picked up.He bites, and bites VERY hard and will open skin.Edith doesn't have the will to bite hard but she is a bitch.Other then Archie, she hates EVERYONE ELSE.She reminds me of Nancy Pelosi,or Hillary Clinton."BITCHES".I live in NE Pa. if interested.I will adopt these two if I know you will be great to them.
Previous owners must have smacked him on the beak or something because I heard him mention something about "give you a slap" That is a good indicator that there were either threats or follow thru on threats. When I first got spaz I showered him with love even as I was dripping with blood lol
How cute - he reminds me of my Charlie. I call him my little 'psycho bird'. A very special bird. He will twitch and instead of biting anyone he will bite his foot. He keeps blaming 'Raffle", the cockatoo he lived with for biting. He will say, "don't bite, I don't like that - Raffle did it'. He's hilarious.
The sympathetic, "Are ya havin' a flashback?" is probably the funniest thing I've ever heard someone ask a bird. And I ask my birds lots of questions.
So cute! I heard give me a kiss and what a funny thing to say...I wouldn't give him all that white bread though its really not good for him. My quaker does that kind of conversation thing...its hilarious
My bird rambles like that and I simply engage in conversation saying "Really?" and things like that. We have 10 minute conversations like this sometimes.
Also, he is "quaking" when he's bouncing around, as if he was under his mothers wing, which is common. Especially when they are happy. The more time you spend with your bird, the more likely you are to get used to some of it's habits.
I have a quaker parrot that ive had her for 5 years and she used to be lively. 5 days ago shes been acting weird like being tired and she doesnt chirp anymore just stays quiete all day. anyone knows whats wrong with her? and how can you tell the difference in male and female quaker parrot
My friend has one of these parrots but the weird thing is he will act like he wants to bite but i can make a certain sound that he will imitate and will stop trying to bite. I got him out of the cage today without any biting what so ever and it was the first time i ever got him out of the cage. He's been taken out by other people to. But it could be that i used to have cockatiels.
yeah my quaker parrot is a bit of a weird dude, whenever we go into this room in my house we always stares at the right back corner of the roof there is absolutely nothing there and he'll just sit there staring at it lol
He probably doesn't understand what he is saying, to him, 'I'm in trouble' is a sequence of sounds he has learned to mimick, and he is probably expecting a certain reaction to those words.
Quakers are smart, learning words and un-tying knots are nothing to them. Give him some sticks and nest-building supplies, that will keep him occupied for a while.
Quakers are gorgeous, I also have scars. You just need to understand what his triggers are and avoid them.
Are quaker parrots loud? Do they wake you up in the morning?
