I know Carlos Machado and I've trained with Rigan and the Machado family is one of a kind. I hope to someday train with JJ Machado, that would be an awesome experience. Those who have trained with JJ Machado, I really do envy you guys!
JJ is a great guy. went to a free lesson at his place when I was in the valley. Really cool, so were the guys I rolled with. I trained with a Royce Gracie black belt who took my money for a six month period but basically gave me no respect because I had trained in karate so I stopped going. Guys like Jean Jacques are rare. I suggest anyone who has a chance to train with him do so.
I just found my favorite BJJ guy. I love Jacare, Marcelo, all of the Gracies, but this guy has clinched it for me. Doing all he does one handed is fucking unreal.
Ok, Bilksta. Yes, Matt Hamill is definitely at a disadvantage against his opponents bcuz he is def. He does great, and is an inspiration to many. But he is not comparable to Jean Jacques. J.J. Machado is PHYSICALLY disabled. Also, this man is the many time WORLD champion of BJJ (10+), and also adcc champion as well. Matt Hamill Has achieved a lot for sure...but he is no Jean Jacques Machado. This man is a hero to all, cousin to the gracie family, 1 of the top 2 best bjj black belts ever!
Not trying to steal his thunder...but Matt Hamill pretty much did something simular in wrestling(4 time NCAA d-3 or d-2 champ,2X special olympic champion in both Grco and Folk style wrestling, and 2003 or 4 free style world champion, but again i'm not positive on all this)He was born def...
something similar? Hearing does not impede his wrestling ability. Maybe in the learning aspect. JJM did something with a physical handicap, he basically had no hand? To say its similar is way off. I want to see Matt Hamilll reach that level of accolades while missing a hand. Till then a poor comparison man.
This is what we call bushido and what we honor. We dont neeed thugs boasting how deadly theri skills are, but we need some one like JJ as an example and inspiration.
