I believe this PSA was created around 1970, maybe before, based on the sound effects and the lady's looks . I was a kid in the 1970's and noticed most PSA's done by these people and similar associations shown on TV around 1974-77 were actually done years earlier.
I believe you're right, because in addition to that, the commercial's jingle sounds like it was out of the late 60s--like 1968 or 69ish. I also remember hearing the jingle quite sometime before 1974.
I remember seeing this PSA late at night during the late movie. However, even though this PSA ran during the mid '70's, it was actually filmed sometime around the late 1960's... 1968, I believe.
This is an awesome ACS 1970s classic!! The sword moving in multiple directions with the black background rocks! People get a better idea of what the sword means...FIGHT CANCER!!!
How sad for human beings that it took over 20 years after this PSA first aired, for people's attitudes towards sun exposure to finally change.
