@CJPrindle Yes, you sense correctly. It would have been very easy to play my own thing, but I really wanted to represent Ringo's drumming as best I could, which made it very challenging as Ringo's drumming on this song is a very unique and even unusual where he places things.
@WithTheBeatles1990 Yes, it was the best concert I've ever seen/heard. And why shouldn't it be?! For one, Paul and his Beatles mates invented the stadium concert. A month later I got to see Ringo and his All Starr band.
@667jaymz Yes, I do, he's a great drummer. Though I've only dabbled it that style briefly, I really have a high respect for that type of drumming as it is so technical, interesting and innovative.
Very nice cover. I love the Beatles. You look like a Beatles fan yourself, by the way I love that picture you have framed on your wall with the Beatles on it. You probably heard of the "Paul is dead rumor", do you think it's real, I personally think it was just a hoax but I know a lot of people who think he is actually dead, " a day in the life" Has a "Paul Is dead" clue in it. Keep on rocking.
@jazwantb96 Thanks a lot for checking this out. No, that rumor about Paul was just that, a rumor. I can vouch he's very much alive because I saw him perform live last year, and I assure you, he's alive.
Fantastic video. I was captivated throughout. I know and appreciate how much time you put into this (my educated guess). Amazing video and your drumming was also amazing. As a drummer I know how much time goes into drumming Ringo's playing. To play his style and extreemley unique progressions. licks etc take alot of listening, watching and practice. I challenge any drummer who thinks otherwise...liked the shirt...was the beginning video of AR studios yours?...VERY WELL DONE !! Nick
@readyeddy101 Well you know it Nick. Ringo's fills are rather quirky & awkward for me, and I had to spend time learning, It's not so much the fill itself, but where he places them, I would have never played it like this on my own. The shirt was from seeing Paul at AT&T last June. Yes, that was my footage of AR studios, as well as on my cover of Penny Lane. Abbey Road side two medley parts 1, 2, & 3 have more of my Liverpool/London in those. Thanks so much Nick.
@rhythmantic That must have been very exciting to see the AR studios. Your explaination of Ringo's fills is very well put. It is not the fill itself but where he places them....
@CHAPAPA96 Thanks a lot for watching and I agree wholeheartedly. I'm uploading a Penny Lane cover so watch for that and it contains bonus footage of Penny Lane from my Liverpool trip.
@ThePilotBuddy Very good. I had learned it on guitar along with the Sgt Pepper (reprise) that comes before it, but it's been a while. Thanks for watching.
Where did you learn all the video tricks Sal? Very COOL! I remember being in 7th grade and listening to the whole album in music appreciation class. We just had our "Minds" blown from "Good Vibrations" a few months earlier and the "Pepper" came out. Who needed drugs with this kinda music being put out? Life is GOOD!
@dcrimmen Dave, regarding video production, it's just from using iMovie, I went through a couple of books on it. iMovie like Garage Band is no toy, it's serious software and is capable of doing high quality production, though I have a more advanced software, Final Cut Express, which I need to learn as it is capable of doing much more. Check out my cover of Strawberry Fields Forever for more video production. Yea, the Beach Boys were highly influential to The Beatles.
Sal....Another classic song & very nicely done....I just put on Proshow Producer, great program...I assume the video transparency over video in done in layering??
@MrTreknation The video production is done in iMovie '11, their is an "opacity" feature where the cutaway video can sit within the main video and it's opaqueness can be adjusted percentage-wise. Thanks Al for watching.
You are just playing along with the track right? If you are doing more beatles covers, I might be able to help you out with tracks without drums so you can drum along with them without the other drums in the background.
@TheRealrocker74 Yes, I'm playing along to the actual released recording. Yes, I have about another dozen or so Beatle tunes I want to cover, then it's on to the Police & Rush. You have Beatle songs w/out drum tracks?
@rhythmantic Yea it's kind of a long story. But a friend of my father's is a Beatlesologist, so he has so much beatles memorabilia that you couldn't even imagine. Over 120 hours of unreleased stuff alone. Anyhow, on one of his trips to Abbey Road studios, he got a ton of beatles tracks from the guys who work there with various instruments missing in each track. Some are the vocals, some are the guitars, others are drums. It's pretty cool actually. No one else has them.
Excellent job. I appreciate Ringo the most after all this time. I used to play in a Beatles cover band. Your drumming is right on!

@MrSahansdal Thank you. Yes, I do too. Must have been fun playing in a Beatles cover band.

Those beats look difficult to pull off. I get the sense you were constantly thinking about getting the next fill correct.
