  • Han pasado veinte años y siempre soñé con volver a ver este capítulo, hasta las lágrimas me salieron de la alegría.! gracias por tenerlo aquí.

  • i have the original version of this episode

  • Gosh, it's so hard not to laugh seeing this, after watching Mulligans AWESOME performance as Burt Campbell on "SOAP".

  • aww how sweet haha

  • Comment removed

  • Naturally, nothing compares to Art Carney.....

  • Art Carney's version was better.

  • Even though this episode is not bad at all it misses one important... no, no one most important ingredient... It misses Art Carney

  • Thanks for this gift. You have a good heart

  • sucky

  • LARENZ TATE ;-)

  • Tis the seaon to be jolly falalalalalalallal lalallalalala.

  • As blasphemous as this is going to sound... Oh, I know I'm gonna catch all kinds of crap for this... But I really think this is step-up from Serling's version.

But me personally, I think this particular re-make was a improvement. A vast improvement at that. See, I know Serling's original "Night of Meek" was untouchable for the day. But by this day, it feels like.. just another Christmas special.

    Yep, this one's a upgrade.

--Much obliged to the big newsfish, Dane Youssef

  • yeah!!! the first noel!!! the same song from the original!!!

  • Where's part 2 & 3?

  • y iz it u keep only puttin da 1st part to every show lol dat annoyin!!!!!!!!!!

  • the original with art carney is one of my favorite christmas shows of all time

  • I liked the original "Night of the Meek" episode with Art Carney better, but this one is also good.

  • I know I shouldn't say this on a New TZ channel--but I always liked the old show and thoght the new ones sucked. But after watching some of them, especially, the ones that improve on old TZ scripts like this one--I realise this show rocked! I'm going to watch them all. The only way they'd be better is if Serling could narrate them. I don't like the Serling knock-off narrator they use.

  • LOL notice that the bartender calls him Mr. C, exact name they called him when he was in the show "Empty Ness" or whatever it's called. :x

  • 4:02 - 4:08 is larenz tate!!! i love him!!! but i do like the twilight zone though too :)

  • i love him 2

  • the twilight zone ended ONE YEAR before i was born!!! FRUSTRATION!!!

  • you obviously otherwise u wouldnt have commented :¬P

  • Damn! If only you were bon a year earlier, then you'd.. STILL be too young to watch it!

  • ur never too young to watch the twilight zone! besides, its the principle of the thing :¬)

  • they show re-runs at least.. Yea im said too, RIP Rod Sterling.

  • In the original, Art Carney's speech to his boss and the people was one of the best pieces of acting I've ever seen. The 1980s version has a difference script for the speech and this actor lacked the emotion that Art Carney's Santa character had, and how he really cared about the children. Check out the original version, please.

  • The original was fantastic, but this one was above and beyond that, it wasn't about bland emotion it was more about a mans journey to be a better man and give instead of complaining. This is alot better, and the only episode that i think is better than the oldies. But most definitely, the original is worth watching, at least ten times over.

  • I agree.......................both were magnificent epidodes, but I give the nod to the newer version. " Newer" was shown on a Friday night in Decmber 1985, and I happened to read about it in that morning`s paper, and taped it on VHS right after a rerun of the 1960 episode. Both episodes are incredibly moving and uplifting.

  • one of my favorite episodes...

  • nah man nothing can beat the original

  • What happened to parts 2 and 3? People who have never seen this version of "Night of the Meek" or are trying to compare this episode to the original "night of the Meek" waste 10 minutes watching this video and can't see the end of this episode. And it's not like they can watch this wpisode of DVD, because the 80's version of "The Twilight Zone" isn't available on DVD, and people can't catch this episode on TV, either. Thanks for nothing!

  • why are you uploading only the first part of a show and not the rest? I can't watch if I can't see it's ending :(

  • @vanylaskyye the orginal is on youtube and it is in black and white.

  • @vanylaskyye That's not the case it's youtube deleting the other parts to frustrate the fuck out of everyone....Why not just delete the whole thing?

  • Robert Mulligan played Barnie/Baranby Barnacle in NBC's "Babes in Toyland" (1986), another holiday-themed special.

  • hey thats the guy from empty nest tv comedy show

  • Oh also Tomer, I know they have newer current episodes 2002-2003, but it only lasted for one season and it wasn't a huge hit so not many people saw it, I believe it was only on the Scifi channel and not everyone has cable (yeah I know hard to believe) unlike the original and even remake era. Everyone saw them, most of the public got to see the messages they were trying to give and be entertained. Today not so much. Good thing we have the internet. Laterz

  • Hey, Hubble. I've seen the 2002 remake, including the Maple Street remake. I have my opinion on both the original and the remake.

When I talked about the last supper I referred to a MOVIE, not a TZ episode.

Expect a private message from me. I'd love to discuss TZ and politics further.

In this day and age, with the political tension, I always enjoy civil debate with people on the other side.

  • 4:32 the manager just slapped that lady's butt

  • Good eyes, buddy. Haha. That's okay. He'll pay for it when he'll get punched in the face in the first 2 Die Hard movies.

  • This is just Liberal Propaganda!!!! I knew the Twilight zone wasn't just about Scifi!!!! I knews it!!!!! It makes you think!!!!! (end sarcasm)

If only the original twilight zone and even the 1980 remake was around today. We'd all be entertained and we would all actually learn something. Instead we're blowing things up and becoming more fascist and power hungry. All the fear mongering has made us worst than what we fear.

  • What the hell are you talking about? what does the existence or non-existence of a specific show you like have with your political opinion of what's going on today in the world?

Btw, there was a 2002-2003 version of the twilight zone. Some of the episodes were good. many sucked. Some were remakes of old episodes. One was a sequel to "It's a good life".

What the hell does that have to do with your opinion on Bush? I like TZ. I also like Bush.

  • TZ is more than just Scifi, there are underlying deeper meanings to most of if not all the episodes. If you think about it, many of the messages are not in line with the neo-conservative movement. When you say you like TZ, which is good, you may be missing what the real meaning of what they are, just enjoying the scifi creative story telling. Nothing wrong with this at all. But most of us enjoy those aspects plus what the message was really about. Bush would've watched TZ and said boring.

  • Hey, Hubble. Yeah, I do agree that sometimes there are political messages in different shows and movies that are fascinating to watch. Whether they're to the right or the left. I personally love "The Last Supper" (1995) which has an overall message that I think is above right and left but really attacks political extremism, no matter what side of the political map it comes from.

Can you recommend a specific TZ ep for me to watch online, that you think has a liberal message?

  • I think most if not all the original episodes had a deep underlying message and lesson for all of humanity. Most of the remakes from the 1980's era had some of this, but not all. I understand what you mean by the last supper good episode, two I would recommend which I think had a liberal message (you probably already saw) are the "Old man and the Cave" and "the monsters are due on maple lane" these are class original episodes. I BELEIVE these to have a liberal message, and warning about fascism

  • I completely understand each episode is up to the viewers interpretation, that's what was so brilliant about the origianl episodes, Rod Serling and his writers were geniuses, made you think and entertained, the show was truly light years ahead of its time. I interpret the warnings and lessons to not be so conservative to think outside the box. One way is not always the right way, this is why I feel the current environment in the U.S. needed to learn from TZ. Take care TomerMMHA

  • I second that, especially with "The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street".

  • Off the top of my head, I can recommend an episode, if it is all on You Tube, which sometimes changes from day to day. "No Time Like the Past" has a liberal message about war, in its second half. I will try to think of more, if the other poster doesn't answer.

  • Yes. Rod Serling was a veteran of World War II, and had seen more than his share of killing. He was on the Bataan Death March, and he saw a buddy get killed, when a crate of airlifted food and supplies fell on the guy. Serling also had to kill people. He was sick to death of war, and he wrote through his trauma.

  • Thought I recognized his face; wasn't he Burt in

    the surreal sitcom "Soap"?

  • Yep, that's Burt.

  • Holy cow. That is the guy from "Soap". It's been a long time!

  • @Teflon65

Listen to him, when he's exited and yells "KIDS!!". I thought i was having a flashback

  • The man with no dick, LOL!!!

  • "I think Santa's wasted" lol

  • lmfao, i saw what u said before i saw the scene, when the scene came up, i laughed something chronic.

  • Another Twilight Zone episode that warmed my hear & made me cry. I watch this show to get scared -- who knew there were so many touching episodes like these!

  • Hey check it out, it's Walter Peck from Ghostbuster as Mr. Dundee. He always plays an a-hole!

This version was written by Rockne S. O'Bannon: creator of FARSCAPE.

  • Greats!!

  • thank you for posting. Only saw it once years ago. Always wanted to compare to original.

  • Is that Larenez Tate...( as the the little boy in the store)..?

  • Sometimes, drunks are the smartest people

  • I used to see this chapter during christmas time, during my childhood. It brings so many memories to me!!!!! Thanks for posting it!
