  • Hey! just curious I've never broken/backed a horse so I don't know, why do you put the lunge line around the horses flank? ^_^

  • To put pressure around thier sides to be able to cope with the pressure of your own legs :)

  • Best part of the movie : from 3:06 to 3:08

    ahah, nice riding ;)

  • He looks wonderful! What video program do you use?

  • its there to scare him :)

  • Hey....surely if you do that when they are first being broken in then when you get on you cant tuck your feet up,you have to have them by the horses side. The stirrups hanging down will teach him to have something touching his sides and NOT to be frightened.....ergo when feet are in stirrups and on his sides he wont be scared......make sense ?! :D

  • No, its there to get him used to having flapping things next to his sides,

you have to teach them when they get scared to stop not to run.

Together me and mum have broken in 10+ horses.

I think we know what we are doing lmfao

  • wow looking good!

do you mind me asking - why is the lunge rein/long rein (whatever you call it!) underneath his belly when he's being lunged?

  • its to get him used to pressure each side, as he doesn't like pressure from the leg :)
