  • OhMaiGawd I love you (:

  • *huge hugs*

This video totally made me subscribe!

Your amazing and I hope you keep posting! We need more butches 2 share online!

I've been on T for 5yrs- but I didn't do this to be a guy. I did it b/c I want to be me. Hairy, butch, flat chest, & loving it!

I wish women WLD see me as a butch lesbian, but the man-stache gets in the way :P

I admire butch lesbians so much, I wouldnt have transitioned if I could have dealt w/ being a woman. I love being female but being woman was not fun.. *hearts*

  • You, my dear are AWESOME! I wish more lesbians were as understanding as you. It would make my life soooooo much easier. :-)

  • Hi MainelyButch; I'm a Male to Female Transsexual and I see a lot of transphobia and just plain lack of understanding from the one group I assumed would be the most understanding, LBGT. If seems a lot of CIS gender people in LBGT tend to think we transgender / transsexuals are confused homosexuals, the fail to realize because of the lack of education within LBGT that gender identity is independant of sexual orientation. As an example I'm lesbian, and I know transmen who are gay men.

  • Dude, you're brave. Thanks so much for being openminded and for being a bridge. I'm a black (trans)man and I LOVE butches & am blessed that all my peeps support me thru my transition. You're right to point out that both groups go thru shit and have a lot of misunderstanding b/t them. More folks like you can change that though. Hats off to you bro...

  • I am a soft butch and I love you're video

  • I used to think that trans folk were brave for transitioning; I do not think this anymore. The way I see it, is that trans folk are simply doing what they feel they HAVE to do in order to stay sane. To take hormones/get surgery to get as close to the gender they feel they should have been born as, to look and feel that gender.

  • Can you explain further, why you think that there is an underlying "threat" to to butch women by FTM's?

    Enjoyed your video.

  • you are sexy, and goodlooking! I am a sporty femme, and i have a wife/husband. I like what u are saying about the transdendered!

  • your comment on freshlycharles . I was wondering why? narcissism?

  • in simple words... cant we all get along ?

  • If you say all lesbians prefer butch i'm gonna get ya! just kidding, lol

  • Three words: you are awesome! =D

  • I've sometimes wondered if it's odd that I like studds/ butch lesbo's, since I am myself a stud. (closer to butch, you could say). I like femme's too, but not as much, I don't think. Just wanted to put that out there. ;)

  • i agree with you. the dick should be able to stay in the drawer!

  • Right on! being a transdude I appreciate what you said. Rock on Maine!! I grew up in Calais. I'm not there any more.. but still... Thanks holmes.

  • hi. I am glad to subscribe to your channel after hearing what you have to say. I am very new to the battle that seems to be going on about the 'joining the suppressors' that SOME Butch Lesbians feel that those who are FtM's are doing....(I always try to understand the view of another...and because I have only recently come out of the closet I cannot say I understand at all what it is like/has been like to live as a Lesbian and a Butch....) I look forward to watching your videos..

  • You are completely right about the sideswiping that goes on under the LGBTQ (add letters as wished) community. So many "straight acting" gay guys hate on femmes and nellys, gays of all stripes hate on lesbians (especially butches), some lesbians hate on men and transmen, people from all sides hate on transwomen. We really need to start looking at our own prejudices and cruelties, not just the ones the outside world throws at us.

  • iam ashamed of my sexuality i wear panties and love both sexes but iam ashamed of being who iam my name is Ronnie

  • Hi,

I've just recently stumbled across this "phenomenon" (and I call it that because it's basically one person and a few of her friends/"fans" stirring up a whooole lot of shit, and seeming to speak on behalf of all butches), so I'm a little late to the party. Although she's still rockin' the hate in her little dark corner of the universe.

I thank you for this video. I hope there are more like yours; I know there are lots of butches who feel similarly to you. I can say that (cont'd...)

  • ... that as a female-born person who didn't have a clue who I was sexually/gender-wise until I was into my 30s, that transition for me was incredibly freeing: freeing from the white-noise of not belonging anywhere. (I had tons of friends - almost all queer, of all stripes - but my sex/love life was a train wreck, and I now understand why, and am happy and "right" with my head and heart and body, & in love and loved by my fiance, a gay man.)

But my POINT is -- (cont'd)

  • (My first point is that I'm longwinded ; ) and sometimes just can't my comments fit into one comment box. Although youtube seems to have been messing with thread structures since I was last hanging around youtube, hm.)

I think it's really unfortunate that one (pretty clearly) unhinged person is stirring up so much animosity, instead of all of us [those who want to] continuing a DIALOGUE about the co-existence of different identities that may look the same to those far outside (& let's face it-

  • -we ALL have larger enemies out there than each other; there are those who'd like to shoot us all & they wouldn't give a good goddamn what our "labels" were).

Since transitioning, I have come to know and love (as friends) butches in a way that I never did before. And I've seen some people I know struggle with seeing transmen all around and thinking, "Am I missing the boat here?" (or somesuch thing)- thankfully coming out the other side of that thinking, NO. I love who I am now: a butch woman.

  • ...I'm glad this is an older vid because I'm hogging the hell out of your comments section. : )

The struggle for any/all of us is to be comfortable in our own skin, and I hope continued dialogue will *enrich* that possibility for us all, even if the discussion is sometimes difficult. I see now from suggestion in the sidebar that you have vlogged more about this topic, & I'm going to go look at those now. So I guess these 5 comment boxes have been an extended way of saying hello and thanks.

  • Love the video.. I'm a femme who happens to love butch lesbians and think they are just amazing! My honest thought is no one should be be jealous of anyone.. You are who you are.. I do think trans men should be very proud of who they are as well. Love to both:)

  • No offense. This is just ass backwards

  • Pretty awesome response. And yeah, craigslist doesn't like us trans dykes generally either.

If you were looking for a representative transphobic butch lesbian, you could check out dirtywhiteboi67 who... well... there aren't enough expletives.

Maybe we need some loud n proud t-twinks to start belying this meme that, barring transition, trans men would only be hard butch, ergo, making these men pretend to be women means more pseudo-butches... they forget lots (<=29%) of we trans girls are dykes.

  • you say that you can see how butch women could be threatened by transmen...could you explain that to me? I am unclear as to how transmen threaten butch women or butch culture. Please send me a PM if you want to, I really would like to talk to you about this so I can understand it better. Thanks in advance

  • @skewed1000 As a heterosexual female I'm not sure if I'm missing the boat but from observation I think some butch women feel (either openly or subconsciously) that FtMs perpetuate the stereotype that all butch lesbians want to be men. MainelyButch, if you could offer your opinion I'd love to hear it

  • Anyway, this video is really reassuring. It's great to hear from a proud butch woman that you don't hate us. There's unfortunately too large a number of lesbians who do when what we need to do is support each other, not hate each other. We get a lot of shit from the "normal" communities, it really fucking sucks to get it from the queer community as well.

So thank you for posting :)

  • Thanks for posting, Mainely. The person jacksontherabbit was talking about is a very vocal woman who identifies as a butch lesbian. She has a blog where she steals photos of transguys, posts them without permission, and goes on to talk about how they're ruining their lives, the lives of lesbians and feminism, and that they're feeding the "male medical machine". She has a LOT of followers who comment with very hateful messages against the trans community. I don't want to post a link because she

  • doesn't need more attention that she's already getting.

  • How long did you have to practice that voice to sound like you smoke 5 packs a day?

  • @Svperstarr LOL, well about the time I started on the 4th pack a day I had it down....naw, it's more of a combination of just naturally having a deep voice, smoking and vocal cord damage from being a drill sargent in the Army...just happens, no practice necessary! :)

  • @MainelyButch Personally, I love your voice. :)

  • Well.... it´s a fact that transpeople dont feel good about their gender, its not a sexual orientation thing, its just a gender thing. Quite different. There are heterosexual trans men and women and homosexual trans men and woman. So nothing to complain, is just like that.

  • Thanks for sharing.

  • wow, i am started working on full time trans, and have always asked how to connect to some group, many times i feel isolated but would welcome feindship with butch lesbiens, or others, its tough coming out , but thanks for the posting. i have asked my self how i fit into the lgb community, its tough to answer and i am still wondering where trans fit in the lgb erea, mopst trans men and womne are more honest then many, we have no choice, have a grerat day brenda

  • I heard an interesting theory on this.. A lot of them are just pissed that we aren't girls because they want a piece.

But seriously, I've never got why so many butch lesbians hate FtM.

  • @TheEscapedBalloon As a butch lesbian, I can say I do not hate FTM's or MTF's. I have lost friendships with other butchs and lesbians for having transmen and transwomen as friends and room mates. I have also received a lot of hate towards myself, as a butch women, from andro's, femme's, and trans. Some body is always going to dislike you. Its life. Just don't lump us all, butch women, in one group of hate towards FTM's.

  • @callmeishmel

Emphasis on "so many". Most lesbians probably have no problem with FtM, but I've noticed quite a few that have something against FtM. Has something to do with feminism, but I'm a feminist and I don't get where they're coming from.

  • @TheEscapedBalloon Because in butch women historically have had to fight to be recognized as female. Butch women wanted to be respected as women, even if they chose to traditionally masculine traits: short hair, certain jobs, men's clothing, etc.

When trans-men equate those things with being born wrong (i.e., "I knew I was a boy because I liked football and hating wearing dresses.") that undermines butches wanting to be seen as women.

  • I like this video alot. I'm a straight woman, but I am supportive of homosexuals, transgenders, ect. Awsome move that you posted this video.

    Keep rockin'

  • You are amazing :)

  • As a transguy who is just beginning the process of transitioning, thank you so much. My view of the world was pretty bleek after reading Dirtywhiteboi's blog and seeing her videos- I was pretty upset. But thanks for giving me hope that there are non transphobic butch lesbians, thank you :)

  • ARGGGGG I've seen a blog that had really infuriated me tonight!! The piece of shit blogger is nothing but a red neck. We should embrace all our different genders and identities and not slam them. I am femme and proud to be attracted to butches and transguys.... But that ugly nasty bitch blogger is an awful parasite and I wouldnt even poke it with a bargepole. LGBTQ community should be on the front line making this world a better place, accepting all our uniqueness not attacking eachother.

  • I know this is late in the game to respond to this video, but I just have to say. I'm so glad you posted this video, it's important the LGBTQ hears from positive, smart and family who wont discriminate. Keep making the videos and hello, feel free to add me. :)

  • butch people arent appealing to males or females GOOD LUCK

  • i don't want to come on here and bash other transguys but u mentioned freshlycharles... i used to love him... and i stuck with him throughout his transition until he got on my nerves as well a lil bit. he actually used to be quite popular but alot of his videos lately been draining so i recently unsubscribed to him. i always thought it was just me but i think...ppl are feeling the same... still got love for him but i think im... kinda...too mature for some of his videos. (ii think thats right?)

  • wow love your video. Yeah this one person is posted pics of trans and trashing them. these boys go though alot and it seems like too many people in the GBL part forget that there is a T at the end of that. and yeah it is dirtywhiteboi67. I dont have anything agaist her other than it is rude to talk about these transgendered individuals like that. I believe we all need to watch out for one another. thanks for your video again

  • Thank you for your diplomatic video. It was really inspring after running across all this dirtywhiteboi67 business.

  • Well-said, young lady! But I wish butch lesbians would try to carefully understand that FTMs are TRANS-GENDERED. They're NOT lesbians!! Indeed, which many (perhaps even most) may be "str8", i.e., attracted to what is, for them, actually the opposite *gender*/sex (i.e., in other words) females, there r nonetheless many who r either *bi" or even *gay*, meaning that they prefer their own *gender*, which, for them, means MALES. Lesbians need to comprehend these basic concepts & distinctions!!

  • @MCP2012 Excuse me, I meant to say "while many....", not "which many..." duh!! Sorry 'bout that!! LOL.

  • Just wanted to say thanks....it is a nice reminder that not everyone shares dirtywhiteboi's views...

  • I just want to clarify mostly one of biggest issues with is this person /dirtywhiteboi67 who is publicly using fellow trans guys pics and blasting hate, with her blog. I respect you and I am subbing after this. Stay proud.

  • @JaydenTheJackal Hey, Jay, well said! Always good to see u participating and commenting! Hope u're doing well!!

  • good video

  • I had no idea that some ppl from the LGBT community would be non-supportive of someone else in the same community. Stupid me. I keep forgetting that prejudice exists in every genre.

  • @charlenemonique1 I didn't know either

  • Wow, brilliant view. Subscription earned... it's nice to see that our two communities can get along.

  • thank you for this. for reals

  • Right the fuck on, Ang.

  • FYI the youtube channel is dirtywhiteboi67

  • Im a transguy who recently viewed the 'Dirt from Dirt' blog U R referring & I was offended she, especially in a 'minority group' as well, would make such negative & uneducated statements about transpeople. Doesnt make sense that someone who expects respect would disrespect someone else especially in the same community. I never thought Id receive hate from within the LGBT community like this. Thanks for sharing ur feelings. Its nice to be reminded that there R still decent people in our community.

  • Thank you.

  • Thanks for this video!

  • I admire those people who go through the process of actually changing gender. Talk about taking control of your own life! Personally, I'm happy being a gay man and have never had a desire to change genders, but I can certainly understand how difficult it would be living in the wrong body and how emotionally important it would be to have your sex match your identity. -Steve-

  • thank you for sharing your opinion on this.

  • I think there has been a lot of transmen very shocked at a particular pro-butch blog that has come to light recently which is incredibly transphobic and has upset a lot of us especially us younger ones many of whom were yet to experience such hate within the LGBT community. So that may be why you may see a rise in vlogs about transphobic butches. (If you are trans or have trans friends i suggest you locate a punchbag before reading much on here)

  • It won't let me post the link but just google; dirt the butch lesbian.

  • I find it interesting that many people think of transsexuals or homosexuals as being mentally ill or "damaged" in some way. Maybe that helps people to feel as though they can "understand" something they truly do not understand. Just thinking out loud...

  • thanks for being a bridge between the two communities.

  • @Zedie36 Wow, thank you for that compliment....I so enjoy your videos too Ami, and I have learned much from you as you have chronicled your struggles with your family and everything. Thanks to you for your part in helping to educate me ! Rock on!!!

  • And your trans fans respect you :)

  • @TheFallen7fold And that feeling is mutual, I have much love and respect for all of my trans allies. Rock on !

  • Ang, although I already knew this to be true, still loved that you did a video about it. When someone rails against something as much as this woman has, it usually indicates something deeper they are not dealing with. It's just unfortunate that someone who knows what it is to be oppressed will try to do the exact same thing to someone else.

  • @Jackson2pt0 do you have the username and video name for this woman?

  • @Zedie36 I don't, I've just heard the conversation of others reporting back excerpts. Normally I'd want to see for myself, but I don't want to give something specifically designed to be hateful attention or energy. I think Dweeb found the blog and could direct you.

  • @Zedie36 if you google dirt the butch lesbian youll get it right away. or google dirtywhiteboi67 thats her user name

  • As a male i have always got on with butch women but iv always noticed that gay guys and butch lesbians dont get on...no idea why, lol.
