I must say, I agree with you. I find it such a bummer 'cuz Light's actually kind of cute when he looses his memory, if only he wasn't an evil psychopath mass murderer! L is so freaking awesome! Actually, I discovered that there's a discrepancy between his birthday in the anime and in the manga; in the anime, he's born in 1982. And since I've never read the manga, I went with the anime version.
