I had a 06 gti 6 speed, that car was great. interior, exterior, engine, hardly any lag with the turbo. great torque with no need for downshifting at highway speeds. i loved the car, now i have a 2003 350z and it might not be as nice and classy and the gti but damn its fun. love both cars.

i have a 93 firebird formula LT1 I/E i'm auto and have never changed my crappy 2.73 gears. i was surprised. had my car 10 yrs,maybe time to put headers true dual exhaust and switch those shit 2.73's for 3.73's !!!
@myuzz its not stock and weigh over 200 less... I would expect it to keep up before 70mph then the Z's top end would pull away. the 03-40 VQ35DE's have more low end torque than the 370z's and keep up nicely in 1st gear then the 370z pulls away because the top end much better. Weight really makes a big difference at slower speeds or from a dig. Higher speeds it doesnt have the same effect. Not to mention gearing in the gti is more agressive
you gotta admit, datsun lovers, that the gti (stock) didnt do too bad considering it only puts out 200 hp the 350z puts out 100 more.. but like they say a chip on the mkv alone puts 245 Whp and 280 Lbs/t

Uh, no. It takes a stage 2 GTi to keep up with a stock Z, and it has more than a chip. Btw, a 350Z chip is osiris or technosquare tuning, good for 15-20whp through the powerband. Good luck...
A stock MKV 2.5 liter rabbit can take a 350 til about 60, stock gti's can to about 80 or so, chip and the 350 barely starts pullin around 100 and thats just stage 1 no other mods

The z would be lucky to get to 60 by 6 seconds and the rabbit i admit will take a bit longer to get there, but for being an N/A econo car and the z being nissans shot at a sports car ehhh you can see where I'm going, now up top they're great but when it comes to gettin movin nothing does it for ya like torque and dubs always got plenty of that.

I think his does 0-60 in around 5.6 seconds, which was tested using the built-in lap timer the Z has... N/A econo car my ass. You have no idea what you're talking about.

What makes you think that I had no clue..My gti has a DSG tranny so my 10 year old sister will be able to race it..A stock gti stands no chance against a 350z, I've tried agianst alot and I was only able to beat one with a really bad driver from a dig..They are faster cars, unless a gti is chipped, which then would be a really close race.
A z isnt much faster than a GTI so unless the driver of the z is more than decent im going to destroy them. Dont be mad that your 50k car is barely faster than a 28k car, you paid for the design.
gti's do quater mile times in high 14s stock. 350z are in the high 13s. I've raped my buddy's new gti, and he had only a magnaflow exhaust..i was stock. Chip a gti and im sure its a much closer race, but stock for stock..no chance

What year did you find? There's a good difference between the old 03-06 models and the new HR 07-08. And yes, touring is the heaviest one.
