AkathisiA from abilify ... looks like depression "Cure" cause you can"t stay still. Depressed but have to move around cause of this -Wicked- feeling of ants under your skin pushing your muscles to move .
Thats why the "studies" show increased "activity" ? in depressed patients.
I get totally what you mean that the doctors won't listen. It is like they don't give 2 shits and a fuck about your concerns. I use to be overweight and was afraid of weight gain. It's like they think that every solution is to put you on meds like some fuckin robot that needs to be recharged.

Her son, Justin Hill, remained at Huntsville Hospital after attempting to hang himself last Friday in his aunt's carport. A family member found him hanging, unconscious, and performed CPR until EMTs arrived.
I use to lift weights and be in shape before my breakdown. I was told that the (mental health) medication will give you an appetite. I will admit that I stopped exercising because I didn't feel well. Now I am about 300 pounds, with high blood pressure and hypertension. I also craved salt, which didn't help matters. Before the Abilify seemed to help with racing thoughts, but because of a mix up in paperwork I didn't get it for 3 weeks. I am fine without it, now 4 weeks, so why take it?
@tnafguy I know! That's exactly what I was trying to say. Taking one pill is not going to give you high blood pressure. It is a condition brought on by lack of exercise and poor diet. Thanks for backing me up. Laziness causes high blood pressure. I'm not saying abilify is the answer by any means.

@Haybio Unless he has proof that he didn't have high blood pressure before taking it then I don't believe that taking one single pill that will be completely out of your system within days could cause hypertension which is a condition that is caused by age, weight, and diet. I don't work as a "pharmaceutical rep." Watch my videos and you'll believe me.
You're very educated and physically fit so ignore the people citing weight as a cause of the hypertension.
Not to second guess your doctors or anything, please make sure they order an IVP to rule out secondary hypertension, and do a 24-hour urine test to check your adrenals.

How much do you weigh? Your weight and lifestyle choices contribute to hypertension. You are predisposed to high blood pressure as an African American male. Taking abilify is not going to give you lifelong hypertension. You are lucky that it brought your hypertension to your attention.
How long ago did you quit playing basketball 3 hours a day 3 times a week? I am sure that has nothing to contribute to a steady rise in your blood pressure. It takes 10-14 days for Abilify to build up in your system for therapeutic effect. One pill is not enough to cause life-long hypertension.
Hypertension will destroy your kidneys and organs over time. When you don'tt take blood pressure medications regularly as prescribed you body isn't able to adjust to the feeling of a "normal" level. Being an African American male your "normal" will NEVER be 120/80. Please do not give advice without having a background in the topic. yeah. I was on abilify and klonopine between July and August of 2010. It made my hands feel slightly numb and tingly, i could visually see my hands get like puffy and appear splotchy, quick changes in blood pressure. you need to eat alot of fruits and vegetables bro. alot of water, fruit, vegetables.

I think that these doctors are so anxious to get a kick back from the pharmaceutical companies that they would gladly kill us in the process. Abilify is expensive as fuck. its 500 dollars a month for 30 5MG Pills. This stuff is very expensive and my insurance wont cover it anymore. My Dr. gave it to me as a addon to my depression. This stuff is extremely expensive and im really hesitant to continue taking it now......This pharma poison seems like it will do more damage then help not to mention its 500 dollars a month.
I had lots of anxiety when I was 12 years old. I was a normal weight at that time. Then my doctor put me on Abilify and I gained 10 pounds a week. Every day when on Abilify I threw up many times a day, I had heat flashes, I felt sleepy.
I'm really sorry you've had this experience; hopefully, others will learn from your experience that it's wisest not to take any drug unless you absolutely need it, and are aware that there may be serious risks. In another post here, I cited a book called "The Relaxation Response" which might be of interest; it describes the damange high blood pressure can do, and offers a natural relaxation technique (drug free) that had been shown to reverse the effects of hypertension in some people.

@padkalog I think the risk to internal organs is from the hypertension that Abilify induced in this man's case. If your blood pressure is high, I recommend reading a book called "The Relaxation Response" by Dr. Herbert Benson. Dr. Benson was once a hypertension expert at Harvard, and he provides an easy-to-understand explanation of what hypertension can do to your liver and circulatory system; he also offers a natural (and free) remedy that seems to help many people.
Thanks for putting this out there. I was forced to take psychiatric drugs from ages 14-21. I finally got out of the system and off the drugs and I am so much healthier in every single way. I was on Risperdal, Thorzin, Haldol, and at least 20 other drugs alone and in combination. I had a seziure from being over medicated. I was told by "doctors" that I was never going to recover from my mental "illness" and that if I didnt want to take the drugs it was a "symtom" of my "illness". BULLSHIT.
Its not just abilify its all mental health drugs, there are safe alternatives "st johns wart" for depression "melatonin" for sleep problems "Valerian root" for anxiety ....... and here's the big one believe it or not "cannabis" has a antipsychotic property, google it.

I have eratic heart beat, high blood pressure ana a fatty liver from the drug and i havent swallowed 1 for about 4 months. Plus i gained 80 pounds lost it all now but thats down to the liver i cant eat and i even got stretch marks off them. God dam devil drug im only 18 i shouldnt be like this at my age

With the advice of some of the best doctors in our area we gave our 9 year old daughter abilify along with risperdal. The antipsychotic drugs are a nightmare! Abilify seems to work at first because it tranquilizes a person into a stupor and into compliance. Just try to get off that addicting drug... The worse parenting decision we ever made with any of our children.
DOing research I found that there is a Class Action lawsuit againt the makers of Abilify for over prescribing it to kids. If there were a lawsuit for people like me I would sue in a heart beat ..
the trouble is us doctors are prescription happy! I really wish I didn't have to take anti-psychotics... I feel better off them. But eventually (after about 6 months) I relapse. I hate taking them. I was on olanzapine. and acquired severe social anxiety from it. Now I've been back on olanzapine for a week. Such a relief. But hate the sideaffects. Trying abilify from tonight. These side-effects are present in some and not in others. My doc says it'll be trial and error to find one thats right.
These antipsychotic are very dangerous drugs, they can cause brain damage (tardive dyskinesia), and other damaging side effects...I believe long term they can actually shorten your life expectancy even.

Wow, i am 15 i live with my grandma and take abilify. I started taking it around the summer i graduated from 6th grade, almost 3 years ago. Ive hated it taking it but my grandma and Doctor still keep me on it. In those 3 years I have Gained weight, my best friends made fun of me because of it. Now last night i woke up with a sever bloody nose, i could not stop it. I'm very scared, i don't want to take it any more, but my grandma only cares about me taking that damn pill.
@YummySouls the way to stop it is slowly decreasing the dosage, you have to remove 2.5mg a week and drink lots of distilled water and make sure to sweat .

I've taken Abilify for over 8 years and I have experienced uncontrollable movements and rigidity. This is a side effect of Abilify as long as others (also the effect it has on the liver should be considered when taking it).
I had a friend who is permently messed up from taking abilify 2 times. He has had perment side effects for over 3 years now, he is trying to sew the doctor who put him on it, because he will never be the same in the head agian.
im wondering why did the doctor give you this medication and what were your symptoms before taking abilify. i dont believe this is a depression drug as advertised its too strong. it certainly didnt agree with you. this med is much safer than say Chlorpromazine i think.

After much researching I was adament about NOT putting my 10year old ASD/Tourrettes Son on this deadly drug. His Doctor told me it was the last solution as he had tried other medications. He has been on it for 2 months and has piled on so much weight that I'm constantly buying new clothes and making sure that he doesn't eat to much junk food. He has displayed Suicidal as well as Homacidal actions. I'm now back to the drawing board as far as other alternatives can be found.

It seems the only way to get serious attention when drugs are bad and killing people, which is a sad assessment of our system. Abilify gave me severe high blood pressure when I exerted myself. Whenever this would happen I would get a bad headache. It continued after I quit taking it for about a month. I was told by a doctor that the half-life of abilify is quite long. I'm guessing that the guy who made this video needed to wait it out for the abilify to get out of his system. Though, I think he's right about the fact that there were some permanent damages. It's too much strain on your heart. I think you should sue.

I'm not certain but maybe those doctors were afraid to get involve in a potential lawsuit against the big drug company. I am so sorry this happened to you, seriously! This is so important for people to find out about...also a few years ago the FDA "fast tracked" new drugs which amounts to us being the guinea pigs. I had a doctor who told me that he wouldn't prescribe anything he wouldn't give his own family and he won't give them any new drugs that did not have a long, proven history of safety.
Maliganat hyperthermia is a genetic disease. you only know you have it and its only activated when u take a cns depressant which abilify is. Only a genetic test can prove it and u should have been hospitalized with tons of decanoate. If u briefly stop the side effects are exasterbated and are made permanent. Yeah the volume is off with your video but I raised the volume very high. So I was recently prescribed Abilify by the Psych & I didn't even tell him I wasn't feeling well. I'm on Zoloft and Xanax- about 2 times/week. So I read the possible side effects and I'm not going to take this drug. By the way, I've been on Zoloft for several years and I do sometimes sweat a lot at night but other than that, Zoloft helps take the edge off the depression.

Refractory hypertension is not something a doctor would ignore. Has your thyroid been checked? TSH and T4's? You may also need to be check for renal artery stenosis, especially with your complaints of flank pain.....
by the way profuse sweating is a symptom of kidney disease, you need to have a serious workup by a serious doctor, you have a physical disease that has not been identified, one that is probably very treatable
I was wondering the same thing, but you don't have to be so hostile dude. Doctors get their info from books just like any other human being. They're not Gods! They have experience working w/ many different types of illness & disease. That's probably their only edge on the average joe. BUT you don't have to be a doctor to do your research about symptoms & make an informed prognosis sometimes.

I took 30mg of Abilify for over a year, I have attempted college 4 times and cannot seem to focus because of a sense of restlessness due to this medication. I was extremely athletic. NOT ANYMORE. highschool percussion, scholarship offers...NOT ANYMORE. To make a long story short... it hindered me way more than it would've ever helped me. medical side effects? The VA gave me Abilify and I am hesitant to take it anymore from to many things happening to me that never happened before; sweating profusely while sleeping, can't sit still comfortably, and an over all feeling of apathy.

If you already have high blood pressure you run the risk of a heart attack. I was very healthy before I took Abilify, and my blood pressure shot up 60 points and has never come back down. So if you already have high BP, don't take the risk.
hi, my psychiatrist gave me abilify, and i took one 2 mg pill about 2 hours ago. i don't know if it's paranoia, but i noticed that i sort of felt like crying, and i lost alertness. right now my muscles feel like they are kind of twitching a little.

Oh my god i'm taking abilify and it makes my legs "tingle" my heart race, and I feel horrible. I take half of it, and I still feel weird O.o and it's only 2 or 5 mg....Abilify, is it that bad?

All the Bipolar meds look horrible...weight gain, seizures, confusion, deadly rashes....and having seen my fill of what they call "fair balance" in the TV ads...the part where they play the pretty music and run thru the side effects.....The Abilify is by far the worst ever. I have been dealing with depression/anxiety and PTSD for over 25 years. I am 45 year old woman and was diagnosed as Bipolar 3 years ago. I am frightened and feel at the end of my rope. Currently I'm on Lamictal (scary side effects), Lexapro and Clonazapam, as someone else mentioned, it only works for so long for anxiety. This combo at best makes me not care enough to be suicidal, or anything else for that matter. My new Dr. is suggesting Abilify, another said Efexxor, I've checked them all...

My son was prescribed Abilify and Citalopram. He spent nearly 2 weeks in the ICU in a Coma fighting Death Because of it. When He finally was well enough to come home, I threw his pills away and Helped him to get well. I did report the dr. who gave him the meds-she reported me for reporting her-CPS stole ALL 3 of my kids-and next month plan to TPR me and SELL MY CHILDREN TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER.

These are stupid videos. If a person is dead, they can't have side effects. Give me the name of one person that Abilify has killed. Did it kill you huffy? It works wonderfully for many people. Don't make an exception the norm. Telling people to get off their meds is very irreponsible.
Keeping it real here. There are a lot of people who have been helped by prescription drugs. I've had horrible side effects by this one and some others, but some have really helped (lithium).
Damn Huff - that's some f'd up shit. I quit taking it about a week and 1/2 into the "treatment" because it made me manic as hell, the most extreme mania i ever had. They don't want to help cuz like Chris Rock said - the money's in the comeback, not in the cure. Thanks for what ur doing, the news needs to get out there. Not sure if you are still having trouble as a result of this situation but you should try fasting. It will give you system a rest and allow your body to self repair. This is critical to rectify the HBP and kidney issues.

I got high blood pressure from it too, but not as severe. I had to be off it for about a month before it came down. I'm surprised that your's is still high. That's going to make your heart muscle thick, which isn't healthy. Take what you have to, to get your blood pressure down. Maybe something will help now that didn't before when you still had some abilify in your system.
When I was on it at first I couldn't sleep right for 3 months. But in comparison Risperdal the other anti psychotic alternative isn't much better. Major gains in appetite for both meds

I use to lift weights and be in shape before my breakdown. I was told that the (mental health) medication will give you an appetite. I will admit that I stopped exercising because I didn't feel well. Now I am about 300 pounds, with high blood pressure and hypertension. I also craved salt, which didn't help matters. Before the Abilify seemed to help with racing thoughts, but because of a mix up in paperwork I didn't get it for 3 weeks. I am fine without it, now 4 weeks, so why take it?

You're very educated and physically fit so ignore the people citing weight as a cause of the hypertension.
Not to second guess your doctors or anything, please make sure they order an IVP to rule out secondary hypertension, and do a 24-hour urine test to check your adrenals.
I have an RN license (BSN) and am worried about the combination of HBP and the hyperthermia.
( these psych drugs do cause dangerous effects, not reported by the companies.)

How long ago did you quit playing basketball 3 hours a day 3 times a week? I am sure that has nothing to contribute to a steady rise in your blood pressure. It takes 10-14 days for Abilify to build up in your system for therapeutic effect. One pill is not enough to cause life-long hypertension.

Hypertension will destroy your kidneys and organs over time. When you don'tt take blood pressure medications regularly as prescribed you body isn't able to adjust to the feeling of a "normal" level. Abilify is expensive as fuck. its 500 dollars a month for 30 5MG Pills. This stuff is very expensive and my insurance wont cover it anymore. My Dr. gave it to me as a addon to my depression. I had lots of anxiety when I was 12 years old. I was a normal weight at that time. Then my doctor put me on Abilify and I gained 10 pounds a week. Every day when on Abilify I threw up many times a day, I had heat flashes, I felt sleepy.

If your blood pressure is high, I recommend reading a book called "The Relaxation Response" by Dr. Herbert Benson. Dr. Benson was once a hypertension expert at Harvard, and he provides an easy-to-understand explanation of what hypertension can do to your liver and circulatory system; he also offers a natural (and free) remedy that seems to help many people.

Thanks for putting this out there. I was forced to take psychiatric drugs from ages 14-21. I finally got out of the system and off the drugs and I am so much healthier in every single way. I was on Risperdal, Thorzin, Haldol, and at least 20 other drugs alone and in combination. I had a seziure from being over medicated. I was told by "doctors" that I was never going to recover from my mental "illness" and that if I didnt want to take the drugs it was a "symtom" of my "illness". BULLSHIT.

I have eratic heart beat, high blood pressure ana a fatty liver from the drug and i havent swallowed 1 for about 4 months. Plus i gained 80 pounds lost it all now but thats down to the liver i cant eat and i even got stretch marks off them. God dam devil drug im only 18 i shouldnt be like this at my age

the trouble is us doctors are prescription happy! I really wish I didn't have to take anti-psychotics... I feel better off them. But eventually (after about 6 months) I relapse. I hate taking them. I was on olanzapine. and acquired severe social anxiety from it. Now I've been back on olanzapine for a week. Such a relief. But hate the sideaffects. Trying abilify from tonight. These side-effects are present in some and not in others. My doc says it'll be trial and error to find one thats right.

I had a friend who is permently messed up from taking abilify 2 times. He has had perment side effects for over 3 years now, he is trying to sew the doctor who put him on it, because he will never be the same in the head agian.

im wondering why did the doctor give you this medication and what were your symptoms before taking abilify. i dont believe this is a depression drug as advertised its too strong. it certainly didnt agree with you. this med is much safer than say Chlorpromazine i think.
im on zeldox similiar to abilify look it up on wikipedia. i have schizophrenia.
im not worried much about it i need medication to keep me straight im gonna ask my doctor about abilify. i hope your situation gets better for you.

After much researching I was adament about NOT putting my 10year old ASD/Tourrettes Son on this deadly drug. His Doctor told me it was the last solution as he had tried other medications. He has been on it for 2 months and has piled on so much weight that I'm constantly buying new clothes and making sure that he doesn't eat to much junk food. He has displayed Suicidal as well as Homacidal actions. I'm now back to the drawing board as far as other alternatives can be found.

So sorry for your troubles. I wish you well and suggest you sue - to help others who experience the poisoning after you do. It seems the only way to get serious attention when drugs are bad and killing people, which is a sad assessment of our system. And I would get holistic healthy care as soon as possible - it can be miraculous and can work when Western medicine cannot. Good luck and blessings!

Abilify gave me severe high blood pressure when I exerted myself. Whenever this would happen I would get a bad headache. It continued after I quit taking it for about a month. I was told by a doctor that the half-life of abilify is quite long. I'm guessing that the guy who made this video needed to wait it out for the abilify to get out of his system. Though, I think he's right about the fact that there were some permanent damages. It's too much strain on your heart. I think you should sue.

I'm not certain but maybe those doctors were afraid to get involve in a potential lawsuit against the big drug company. I am so sorry this happened to you, seriously! This is so important for people to find out about...also a few years ago the FDA "fast tracked" new drugs which amounts to us being the guinea pigs. I had a doctor who told me that he wouldn't prescribe anything he wouldn't give his own family and he won't give them any new drugs that did not have a long, proven history of safety.

Maliganat hyperthermia is a genetic disease. you only know you have it and its only activated when u take a cns depressant which abilify is. Only a genetic test can prove it and u should have been hospitalized with tons of decanoate. If u briefly stop the side effects are exasterbated and are made permanent. Yeah the volume is off with your video but I raised the volume very high. So I was recently prescribed Abilify by the Psych & I didn't even tell him I wasn't feeling well. I'm on Zoloft and Xanax- about 2 times/week. So I read the possible side effects and I'm not going to take this drug. By the way, I've been on Zoloft for several years and I do sometimes sweat a lot at night but other than that, Zoloft helps take the edge off the depression.

I truly wish I could hear what you are saying, as the volume quality is very poor. I have a 10year old Son with Autism, Tourrettes/ADHD, his doctor has suggested Abilify, I'm researching it before I say Yes or No. I'd love any advice from anyone who is on it for the same issues.

It is proven that 1000mg of vitamin c or more a day can lower stress, depression and anxiety. Refractory hypertension is not something a doctor would ignore. Has your thyroid been checked? TSH and T4's? You may also need to be check for renal artery stenosis, especially with your complaints of flank pain.....

I was wondering the same thing, but you don't have to be so hostile dude. Doctors get their info from books just like any other human being. They're not Gods! They have experience working w/ many different types of illness & disease. That's probably their only edge on the average joe. BUT you don't have to be a doctor to do your research about symptoms & make an informed prognosis sometimes.

Man I want to thank you for this video, thank god for people like you who don't give in to a doctor's word. I took 30mg of Abilify for over a year, I have attempted college 4 times and cannot seem to focus because of a sense of restlessness due to this medication. I was extremely athletic. NOT ANYMORE. highschool percussion, scholarship offers...NOT ANYMORE. To make a long story short... it hindered me way more than it would've ever helped me. medical side effects? Don't know where to begin.

The VA gave me Abilify and I am hesitant to take it anymore from to many things happening to me that never happened before; sweating profusely while sleeping, can't sit still comfortably, and an over all feeling of apathy.
I ask them to prescribe me Marijuana but no they give me Abilify .....

If you already have high blood pressure you run the risk of a heart attack. I was very healthy before I took Abilify, and my blood pressure shot up 60 points and has never come back down. So if you already have high BP, don't take the risk.

hi, my psychiatrist gave me abilify, and i took one 2 mg pill about 2 hours ago. i don't know if it's paranoia, but i noticed that i sort of felt like crying, and i lost alertness. right now my muscles feel like they are kind of twitching a little.

All the Bipolar meds look horrible...weight gain, seizures, confusion, deadly rashes....and having seen my fill of what they call "fair balance" in the TV ads...the part where they play the pretty music and run thru the side effects.....The Abilify is by far the worst ever. I don't know what to do, we all react differently but can someone tell me things that have worked for them? I hate this disease. I don't want to die from treating or not treating it. PLEASE HELP!

I have been dealing with depression/anxiety and PTSD for over 25 years. I am 45 year old woman and was diagnosed as Bipolar 3 years ago. I am frightened and feel at the end of my rope. Currently I'm on Lamictal (scary side effects), Lexapro and Clonazapam, as someone else mentioned, it only works for so long for anxiety. This combo at best makes me not care enough to be suicidal, or anything else for that matter. My new Dr. is suggesting Abilify, another said Efexxor, I've checked them all...

First let me say I am so very sorry this happened to you. I used to work for Rx companies and marketing is the priority, not the research and testing. Money is factored into the sales plan for legal fees and to push the drugs thru the FDA faster, including off-label uses. My son was prescribed Abilify and Citalopram. He spent nearly 2 weeks in the ICU in a Coma fighting Death Because of it. When He finally was well enough to come home, I threw his pills away and Helped him to get well. I did report the dr. who gave him the meds-she reported me for reporting her-CPS stole ALL 3 of my kids-and next month plan to TPR me and SELL MY CHILDREN TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER.

Damn Huff - that's some f'd up shit. I quit taking it about a week and 1/2 into the "treatment" because it made me manic as hell, the most extreme mania i ever had. They don't want to help cuz like Chris Rock said - the money's in the comeback, not in the cure. Thanks for what ur doing, the news needs to get out there. Not sure if you are still having trouble as a result of this situation but you should try fasting. It will give you system a rest and allow your body to self repair. This is critical to rectify the HBP and kidney issues.

I am really angry at the moment, I asked my psychiatrist whether Abilify can cause Diabetes and Sleepyness, he said no. I did my research and I learned that he lied to me. I am not going to take Abilify, I already had Diabetes in the past, I am not going to go through it again.

wow this is terrible..I would reccomend getting in touch with mind freedom international...and do research on anti-psychiatry...I had to really assert myself to keep my family and doctors from convincing me to take this medication and I really glad i didnt...I wish you the best dont give up there has got to be someway to get your body back in tune...yoga, gentle exercise and a strict healthy diet...emotional release exercises...keep that faith!

I got high blood pressure from it too, but not as severe. I had to be off it for about a month before it came down. I'm surprised that your's is still high. That's going to make your heart muscle thick, which isn't healthy. Take what you have to, to get your blood pressure down. Maybe something will help now that didn't before when you still had some abilify in your system.

When I was on it at first I couldn't sleep right for 3 months. But in comparison Risperdal the other anti psychotic alternative isn't much better. Major gains in appetite for both meds

now i down to 15mg,it seems to work just as well.even though it makes me sleepy.i live a normal life with schizophrenia,witch i had since i was 21,i was in jail for a year,hosps,and on the streets,i took numaruse anti phyc meds,and since iv been on this lifes gotten better so i can't complant may god bless!
