  • Fantastic design. What scale do they play? I wanted to try a bone-comb harmonica.

  • I have recently bought some herring vin 1823s I dont really like there tone..I found the key of A out almost striaght off they have quality constrution but something aint right.and I bought 6 diyyrent keys...any Ideas??

  • @TheOffcialACCFans There are three different harmonica scales. Some contain sharps. consider that when choosing harmonica.

  • do you sell them?

  • Ok, how does it sound? Thought ya might want to let us hear your masterpiece instead of a fake piano playing corny music.

  • Do you make combs for the Lee Oskar HArmonicas?

  • must have custom comb!

  • WOW !!!!!!!!!THX

  • Do you build them for others or just for yourself. They look Great

  • hi just looked at your work.

what a very tallented man you are it amazes me what you can do to a harmonica.

i wondered what it costs if i were to ask you to customise a marine band or a golden melody for me what would it cost.

    i live in the uk.

    many thanks andy.

  • Nice interesting tecnical instruction video, just one question?

Why is a piano playing, why not a harmonica playing?

    Thanks!

  • one more quistion would u recommend hohner special 20 key of C

  • for a beginner is a wood comb harmonica hard to play

  • most players don't invest in a custom until they've been playing for a while. I think the metal ones play better but you also have to consider that the harp is sealed better and has had the reeds worked on to make it more airtight and more responsive. You can improve the qualities of a wood comb harp as well by putting in a bit of work on it.

  • Putting in work on it?

  • yes, putting in the time to work on the reed gapping, arcing, embossing, etc.

  • sorry i am really new at this

  • Just awsome! Please, what music is that.

  • it's just some background music that came with my video editing software. I don't know the name of the music.

  • nice clip - Do you sell your customized harps or combs they look excellent

  • yes I sell both completed harps as well as combs on my website.

  • how much are your completed harps - thanks

  • yes I do, you can get information about them on my blowyourbrassoff website

  • Very Nice work...My favorite part was watching you drill the slots in the comb. very cool viseo....it's obvious you put alot of love in those harps.

    J

  • thank you for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. the new version of the video shows my more recent work, these were some of the very first ones that I did, the newer ones are better in my opinion.

  • nice work.these harps are beautiful.

  • would you be able to customize a ms cross harp key of a.......

  • yes, looking at the picture of it it should do fine with the brass comb.

  • well approximately how much much would it be with an engraving on the front comb or design......

  • I'd love to know how these harps sound. They look really cool, beautiful. Do they sound as good as a Marine band or Special 20? Love to know. I'm a harp player and love any kind of Harmonica. Check me out on myspace / bentreed.

  • Ronnie Shellist was kind enough to do a video review of the harp that I did for him. If you want to hear what it sounds like.

  • you should have had harmonica music in the background

  • I thought about recording some, but my playing abilities are still very limited, and since this was just a quick video that I threw together it was just easier to use some canned music from the editor.

  • Can you make a solid brass comb?

  • these are solid brass combs. so I'm not sure what you mean.

  • Oh... I thought they were plastic.

Could you craft one to fit the top plates and reed plates and screw holes of a Special 20 harmonica? And engrave a short phrase on the back? If so, you might have a sale.

  • I'm not sure how well the special 20 would work since the cover plates go right up to the edge of the reed plates. On harps like the marine band there is a shallow slot that the edge of the cover plates rests in, since that's not present on the special 20 it might not work well. I've only started learning how to do engraving, so I'm afraid my ability to do that is really nonexistent.

  • If you don't play 'em, how can they be anything other than just good looking???

  • of course I play them, wouldn't make any sense to put in the time and effort working on them if I couldn't play them.

  • i can't get over how nice these harps look!

    Seriously nice work.

  • thanks man, I appreciate the compliment. yours will be in the mail tomorrow.

  • You've got some skills BB!

  • Wow! Those are absolutely stunning! Good work on the harmonicas, you will have a long list of people looking to purchase those, I'm sure!

  • that would be great, more money for tools and harps. hahaha thanks for the compliment.

  • Nice custom work! How about adding some harmonica music to the soundtrack? Maybe some on the harmonicas shown mixed in? Real craftsmanship!

    Joe

  • mainly because I'm a better metalworker than I am harmonica player. hahaha

  • Excellent blend of music and metalworking!
