However, remaining at war readiness for so long is damaging to a nation that small. And once the Israeli found out that the US wouldn't be able to help if Egypt invaded because of their attention being elsewhere.. They had no choice but to perform a preemptive strike and cripple Egypt as fast as possible.

When a govt agency refuses to approve a building permit to an Arab, yet approves a zionist without any problem, THAT'S institutional discrimination. Second, Balfour was immoral because it states that a "foreign" entity, with no rights to the region, was asking a colonial power (read: invaded territories) to grant them a land to an unknown "future" population that were not even residents at the time while ignoring the very native people who did reside there which goes against all the "democratic" values we all cherish.
