  • This is the best example that Han Culture and Tibetan Culture join together to make best dance ever. The dancers are Sichuan Provincial Dancing Troupe combined by both Han and Tibetan girls. The singers are Tibetans, The composer is Han. The story is about 2 Tibetan lovers, the boy is going to join the army, the girl feels sad if the boy leave her for a few years but she won't stop him to protect the country. Sichuan is the only province with the largest Han and Tibetan population in China.

  • Nice, very beautiful, this dance is much better than traditional tibet dance.

  • I've been looking for this and i just so happen to stumble upon it!! I actual saw a live version in Sichuan a few months ago.

  • it's a nice dance and though it is not AUTHENTIC tibet dancing, it does not give others the excuse to slander on the chinese; it just gives YOU less credibility on your words. people won't take you seriously; I don't at least.

    good dance.

  • i love the dance it very creating and it make me wanted to see everytime..........the song is very very good........

  • love these dance ,but i wish the song could be in tibetan ! that will be great!

  • Tibet, the frontier land of China. Lets hope PRC don't follow U.S. example during her westward expansion. PRC recognizes 52 distinct ethnic groups in China, I'm sure they can include Tibetans without destroying their culture.

  • I think it is wrong to say that an American introduced that hat in Kham, eastern Tibet. If you have a slight insight into Tibetan paintings, you will realize that this type of hat date way back, even before the name America appeared in the world histories.

  • Hey jatsolo... sorry I didn't see your comment til now. I just remember reading it in a guide book about Tibet that the Americans introduced it. It could well be fale. Sorry if I offended you!

  • *fale - sorry I meant false.

  • I think these girls may be Chinese? The song is in Chinese. But they are probably from a dance school and learnt Tibetan dance - my mum says it was quite popular when she was young!

Regarding the hat, I remember reading somewhere that an American introduced it to the Kham Tibetans and they took a real shine to it, and starting making it out local materials.

Anyway this is a beautiful dance. Thanks!

  • this is tibet dance lor

  • hello can you send me the video?? i love this dance.. reply me please

  • the girls are pretty and all skinny. yeh, what's up with the cowboy hat? I wonder if they really wear cowboy hats there, or was that another american culture influence?? hmm... everything's modernized now

  • The whole Tibet vs Chinese debate again... Like any type of art form, dance evolves with time. The dance on stage will also be different from the type you see from day to day. Thus every type of Chinese ethnica minority dances these days have chinese dance influences (and classical chinese dance now has ballet influences), and the funny thing is that apparently only Tibetans gets offended and all worked up over this... none of the other minority groups seems to have a problem with that.

  • culture and even language changes with time. This is just another form of it. for some people, especially those in western countries, still think Tibet in a rigid and static term. As the tibetans in china get more educated and learning more from other cultures, the culture as a whole will evolve and grow. Welcome to the new tibet.

  • I am Tibetan and Tibet is not a part of Chinese and we don't need a help from you fucking Chinese pig face FREE TIBET

  • Yes, being all insulting is going to make people respect and listen to you.

  • Hi man if you are not Chinese then I can think about it but if you are Chinese fuck you pig face why?, coz, for invading my country FREE TIBET

  • im learning this dance :) and it IS a tibetan dance lol.. different cultures in asia have different types of folk dances

  • They performed at our school! It was pretty cool.

  • haha, Please don't make me laugh, that is not Tibetan dance...

people don't get fooled ! these are just some made up song dance by Chinese.

  • so this must be TIPA (Tibetan institude of performing arts) in Tibet... U guys suck with ur stupid Chinese Accents... TIPA in INDIA rocks..

  • tibetan - chinese dance...cool

  • hey NOW this dance is NOT stupid! our studio did this dance and it was among one of the more popular group dances weve done. and NO we do not choose crummy dances. the style of the dance or the "far" of the dance is tibetan but its uberly modernized/americanized...not that its a bad thing. personally i think the dance is very cool 8)

  • It is not bad being modern and hip, but do it in urban clothing, don't tear the traditional dress and traditional tune, beside I admire the skill and commitment you girls have put into it. Its just that if you want to be called Tibetan, be Tibetan and take pride in it, and please stop using Chinese words in it, it just makes it worse!

  • oh come on you guys...even if this isn't a real tibetan dance, it's a popular recital piece for chinese dance studios and only the advanced students get to perform it. whether or not you like it, these girls spent hours working on the piece and it looks good regardless of its athenticity, and please don't say it's a horrible dance.

  • DIORABLEX, Its true that its not a horrible dance, ITS NOT, BUT DONT SAY THAT ITS TIBETAN DANCE, THERE IS NOTHING TIBETAN ABOUT IT, NO GRACE, NO RYTHM, AND ON TOP THE LYRICS IS CHINESE, IT JUST MAKES IT WORSE.

  • heyy, i never said it was a tibetan dance...

  • But u made it sound like...

  • OMG....PRC propaganda...this is NOT tibetan dance. I cannot comment on the quality...mebbe its noeauveau avant garde and all that, but its not tibetan...and we are Tibetans so there..

That song is not tibetan, nor is the script, nor are the dancers, nor (as it turns out)..the poster.

Some tibetan out there, please upload a tibetan "shabdo"...this is getting infuriating. Is everything "Made in China"?????

  • hhahah its funny oh my god i can't believe this kind of stupid dance

  • are these dancers chinese or Tibetan?? so confused!!!!!!

  • your guess is as good as mine. who knows these days man! I don't know if you recall (or knew) that when the Chinese President Hu Jintao was recently in Washinton DC, they had Chinese people dressed up in these awful so-called "Tibetan" outfits dancing to welcome him. They were trying to make people believe that the Tibetans were welcoming Hu Jintao to DC!

  • Are all Latin ballroom dancers Latino? Are all hip hop dancers black? Does it matter?

  • wtf is this, the music is good but the dance is horrible c'mon now i'm Tibetan and why the f is it a cow grl dance, tibetan dances are suppose to be Cultural not a Hangama, Means Drama in INDIAN; sorry i hope your not Tibetan? are you?

  • no im not. im chinese and the dance place i go to told us it was tibetan so idk. dont blame me.

  • OMG..please don't make Tibetan Culture look bad..Definately not a tibetan dance..The chinese are converting Tibetan Dance and Fashion Styles into their Culture..Its not tibetan at all..u should change the name..

  • because that's my culture you're talking about.

  • I don't know what the hell that was...but I know for sure that that was not a Tibetan dance.
