Acetone is a solvent. Natural but highly flammable! Use it in a safe environment. Acetone breaks down the oils and removes residue. If it does it's job, you will have a barren or sterile metal & ball bearings. Both will need to be lubricated. Oil or grease? In short, seek out skate lubricant. Why? Oil heats up & breaks down too easy in the bearing housing thus shortening its life & your bearing. Grease - collects dirt. Most grease has oil or clay! Again, TK Gel is my suggestion.
I have FR1 80MM 2011 rollerblades, i have 2 questions is something beter that acetone to clean?is it safe for the bearing? and after the acetone whats the best lubrication that you can put...i do slalom and freestyle..
@Exoime Acetone is not a lubricant. It's a solvent. The reality is you can use what YOU want as long as it breaks down oil AND you have a means for removing the grit and dirt. It's just common sense. Something to loosen the grime and dirt, and something to remove it. I go over that of course in the part two video. TK Gel is my suggested lubrication.

the acetone will actually eat away at the plastic. that residue you are talking about is the softened layer of plastic at the top!
