  • Good work by little nugget in the blue shirt

  • a very quiet shopvac

  • Thanks for this video. I think there is a better way to drain the sand, though. At least with my TA 60, there is a "sand plug" in addition to the drain plug at the bottom of the tank. (The drain plug actually screws into the larger sand plug on the tank). Unscrew the entire sand plug plug, and a good amount of the sand will flow out with the water. I stick a hose in the top of the filter to help the sand out the bottom. My Shop Vac would have a tough time pulling out the wet sand.

  • This is great if you have a sand filter sitting in your garage already empty. what about the A to Z on how to change it while it's sitting on the outside of the pool all hooked up with the pipes and hoses. That's the tutorial I need to know! Any suggestions???

  • I have a pac fab tagelus 60, but it's an older model. The stamp on the outside says 250lb of sand. Everyone tells me to add 325lb though at local pool stores. Any ideas on what amount I should add? Thank you.

  • question why does sand enter thru return for the 1st time when i open up the pool

  • @bocco49 , you need to let the filter Rinse for 1 minutes so the sand settle down ,

  • At 3:35 in this video a standpipe plug is used to keep the standpipe centered while sand is added. Where can I purchase a standpipe plug ? Looked around using Google, could not find one.

  • @jandjhofmann I found the part. It is called a "sand guide." Part number 155051. I picked one up at a local pool supply store for five bucks. Very handy because it keeps the standpipe centered and sand free while you pour the new sand into the filter.

  • very helpful. Thanks.

  • is it tru that all pool guys are pot heads?

  • DO the fingers have to go in any particular way or are they perfurated all the way around?

  • @GeneralG1810 If they are the snap in kind you want them down. If they twist in try to get them down. Then there are some that are perfurated all the way around. Just depends what you have.... just need to make sure they are snug.

  • wow.. can that guy come clean my pool! WOOF!!

  • @eddyjohn22 Agreed, he must come shirtless and in short shorts however!

  • do you add that much sand or the entire bag?

  • Hi, Hope u can help . the label on my sand filter is un0readable, how do I find out how much sand is required. Also, the pump is very old, in your opinion is it cheaper to replace the pump or have it serviced? There is hardly any suction at the skimmers, and I can only clean the pool on the waste setting as, there is not enough suction to do it any other way, also have to clean real slow , which uses a lot of water , each clean.. regards RT

  • Did not see the filter basket put back in?

  • replaced sand and laterals, and in bacwash it runs great.I run it in any other mode and the pump surges and never fills up in the view finder of the pump. I thought possibly that the laterial grids are facing up when I screwed the new ones in.Should they be facing down and could that be the reason its surging? thx

  • Appreciate the video. I have the exact same filter and will be changing the sand today. First time I have ever owned a pool and was a little nervous. Good, straight forward explanation and demonstration.

  • tnx for this damn clean cut handy demonstration. been trying to explain to friends abroad on how to do this. well me emailed this link wich says more then a 1000 words for sure
