Je veux bien croire que cet éléphant ne reçoit pas de coups, mais la maltraitance ce ne sont pas seulement les coups. Dans la nature les éléphants parcourent des kilomètres et des kilomètres chaque jour, de plus, ce sont des animaux très intelligents et sociables, qui souffrent de l'absence de leurs congénères. Et puis il me semble qu'il lui manque quelque chose, des deux côtés de la trompe, vous savez... ah oui ! DES DEFENSES !

Be wary of what the media doesn't show us, people. It often takes fear for an animal to be so submissive. I can only hope the elephant in the video was not beaten into learning the tricks and I hope they are treating it well.

C'est ridicule et affligeant de faire faire ce genre de tour à un éléphant. Consternant. Quant à ceux qui affirment qu'il est traité avec délicatesse, renseignez-vous un peu : tous les cirques utilisant des animaux sauvages affirment la même chose. Et les caméras cachées ou un coup d'œil derrière le chapiteau nous révèlent trop souvent le contraire.

the did NOT use a HOOK !!! the elefant gets many many many sweets and one hole bread!!! people if the elefant dindt want to do one of the tricks.... others will take the hook and make them do it. The kludski family wont, they ASK the animal to do something for food and the animal DOES it !!!

@footjuggle Of course they wouldn't use the hook during the performance. But it is certainly hard to say if they do or don't during the time when they rehearse. In any way this kind of performance doesn't amuse me one bit. It's ok when zookeeper train a few tricks with the elephants to keep them busy and make it easier to handle them during examinations or they do a show in a wild life park but circus life and the traveling can't be good for an animal that size.

@footjuggle Complete disagree with you there, elephants in the circuses dont get sweets they dont get a 'well done' they get a bull hook stuck in them! That elephant does that 'trick' due to fear, how can you not see that. in the wild an elephant would not do that , using rewards would not make the elephant do that! Its done through fear, through pain. Can you think how bad the beatings were every day until the elephant did all that correct? I did think you can even begin , honestly.
