There are lizards and fish that reproduce asexually, not to mention bajillions of types of single-celled organisms, which is what Kabane was referring to when he was talking about the origins of life. Sort of, anyway, since the first things that reproduced were not actually cells, but things that more closely resembled viruses. It was just genetic material, no bi-lipid barrier and such.
