are diesels faster up hill than a car at its same level? I have a tdi and i noticed i pull faster up a hill than my friends scion tc and he has more torque than me

@xxbuboyxx Diesel engines have more torque with the same HP then petrol engines, also diesel engines get their full power at much lower revs then petrol engines.

@teamxrx SMOKE=BROKE, black smoke from a diesel is either a blocked air filter, or a cheap nasty K&N type which degrades quickly and doesn't filter due to huge holes in it, blocked EGR valve OR a blocked EGR from a fuel pump/rail fault. That car has more diesel than fits in to each cylinder being pumped in, which will damage the exhaust valves and soot up the EGR, turbo, manifold, CAT and DPF. A lot of serious damage. Smoke is from fuel NOT USED during combustion, so it's a waste pumping it in!
