In fact.. when King David fell after he lusted after Bathsheba, part of his punishment FROM GOD was the loss of his wives. Several other highly notable prophets were also polygamists, namely Abraham, Jacob, Solomon, etc. Solomon had over 700 wives at one point. God permitted it and these men are considered biblical prophets.

Imagine if speaking of Obama she had said, "And as far as that community organizing thing, he's a black and the blacks caused their problems in their own communities and to clean that up - it's not even, again it's not a subject." McCain's response that "the views of my mother are not necessarily the views of mine...." wasn't exactly a strong rejection of bigotry toward mormons. Hopefully, Obama will be a stronger advocate of overcoming hatred in any form than what McCain showed here.

@Mozart1220 Need to do some more research. Joseph was NEVER convicted of anything. He was arrested on false charges and was never found guilty. Show me the court documents showing he was convicted. As for evidence of God, that would be applied to "debunking" ALL religions, not just Mormons. As for the BoM, we don't know the precise location of the events because the land described in the BoM takes place in South/Central America and the ancient history of these lands is still a work in progress.

I edited the cassette versions of the BOM, the D$C, the Missionary guide, and every general conference for a decade, which meant I had access to not only those publications, but several high ranking members of the church.
