Love, love, love taking day trips down to New Bern, especially in the Springtime for the flowers at Tryon.

i have to agree with you. tryon palace is absolutely gorgeous. been there a few times when i was a lot younger. have been away from NC for almost 10 years. New Bern is a gorgeous town.

Don't know how long you have been gone, I lived there for over 30 years, and it really went downhill the last 10 or so. I finally was forced to move away last year, could no longer afford to live there. Relative to inflation, incomes had actually gone down, and cost of living had gone up drastically.
