  • @swat305GINO depends on modifications...but k series engine is a newer engine that has actually be proven to use aftermarket parts more efficiently to gain maximum power increases. Probaby one of Hondas best innovations. Just a very popular block to work with

  • @DRIFTINGIN808 wrong again mate. The f22's are sohc engines..the f20b is DOHC and basically the destroked version of the h22, with a slight difference in bore and stroke.

  • @TheAdale wow didnt think id run into the person that actually got my car...crazy small world man. I gave it to my bro back in november last year and he traded it in for a 94 accord to start a project with that. Its awesome that the car is still living...after i got the g35 that portion of my life was past. I definitely had my fun with that car but it was time to move on. I would have thought it would be in pieces right now parted out cause there is plenty of high quality parts

  • i put in the lude. And yea i sold it at a dealership in south jersey. Well man its good to see someone else having fun wit it. I sure experienced and learned a lot myself. I hope you enjoy one of the better sounding preludes on youtube : )

  • @noel3286 yea when i seen it i was like damn sombody put money in this lude but when i bought it. it had 223xxx miles and i was not sure if i still want it but the guy i bought it from he said there was a new motor in it so i took it off the lot then i see a lot of blue smoke and then like 24 days i got it the engine went :( then i took the car back and the guy i bought it from went half on the used motor it was like 1100 for both... but they guy put all the stuff back on the motor

  • if u havent already get rid of the dc headers there nooooooo good get rmfs and as far as exhust piping go 3inch numbers will increase stay with pro ones best cams for the h22a for dd

  • i v seen a stock 5.0 put down 189whp on a dyno ..so to put down 192whp or 198 with a test pipe and a prelude weighs hundreds of lbs less... u do the math ...granted the 5.0 has double the torque ...but my moneys on a light 200whp prelude against a stock heavy z28...im a 5.0 fan 4ever ,built 3 but hondas can hold there own...oh and for the ricers out there forget all the engine mods..get lots of stickers and a huge wing and u cant lose lol

  • @c7andrei yea no internals were changed...stock valves, retainers, springs, etc...the stage 1 skunk 2 cams dont require you to do any modifactions to the head

  • @MrMaxredline yea man i figured that out after i pulled it off and i got 198.87 whp and 156.12 tq....now im running a test pipe. no cat ever again lol

  • @tdotmostwanted yea man it makes that much of a difference with the increased air flow.  Of course i had other mods done as well but that cat is a start.

  • @JAYsm1 o yea it will definitely through a cell, thats why i had to change my ecu to a p28. I had the O2 sensor still in there but it wasnt active. It made my car obd1 being that it came from an older civic but has wayyy much less of the annoyances of obd2. Didnt end up needing that oxygen sensor. Plus the tuning that i did cleared up all the a/f ratios so the car ran real smooth

  • a honda prelude vtec stock can beat a z28 camaro stock in a 1/2 mile and to 0-60 so people need more respect for the ludes man very good cars im a import guy fuck american muscle they are all mad of plastic these days!

  • @killerclown2031 Are you a fucking retard? Stock a z28 93 up run 14.2 and stock prelude runs 15.1 Yeah i agree they are all made of plastic but they are fucking fast pieces of shit. I owned a 94 z28 and I own a 92 prelude with a h22a cammed fullexhaust intake and chipped p28. Ill tell you right now my lude wouldnt have touched my camaro in stock form with the lude with all of its modds. My z28 was a 6sp but they still run a 14.0 at best stock. Go to school.

  • My 2000 prelude put down 196whp @6800 rpms and 166wtq @5100 rpms

    J dm h23 vtec bluetop swap, with aem cai, dc header, 2.5" exhaust (no cat) flowmaster muffler, aem underdrive pulleys, intake manifold spacer.. p28ecu from Phearable. I got it tuned, but phearable's basemap was so good....that when I got the tune, it barely did anything, just gained 14whp at vtec crossover and 8whp at 7000 rpms, but throughout the powerband it was the same..

  • @venom3114 mine idles a bit low now because of the change in cams...but i drive in a city atmosphere every day and i cant say i have had any problems...runs smooth. when i tuned it the car had 180,000 miles on it in this video....now i have 230,000 and she is still riding with no issues..hondas are beasts as long as you do everything right and dont cut any corners. They will run forever

  • @noel3286 nah 192whp is about 230hp...with a drivetrain loss of 17%, which is the "norm" for preludes =D

  • it was real hot that day...about 97 degrees...so it definitely took a hit on my output. I went again later that year around october and it came out to 209.8 whp so...temperature definitely made a difference. but in the end i still think it was underpowered after all the mods i put in. Dont have the car anymore..moved to infiniti g37 now..feels so much better

  • honestly i actually dynoed my car with and without it and all it did was shift my whole powerband...ended up giving me more high end torque which is not really needed for street driving. The only reason that a car would really benefit from a larger throttle body is if boosted or the engine is completely built. other then that i would just stick to an intake

  • at the time i was using a magnaflow high flow cat...but right now i have a test pipe on my car and i just added another resonator on my greedy exhaust so it still sounds fine. And as long as your not trippin any codes on the ecu you should be fine passing inspection. its those damn codes that will screw you over.

  • yah, mine sounds fine until i go past 4500 rpm, thats when i hear the raspyness.. , and plus, my car smells like balls.. i do have leaks around my testpipe. it is a resonated testpipe so basically i do have 2 resonators, my evo 2 might be fucked.. i donno.. is your car tuned?

  • yeah this video up here is when i got it tuned the first time(in the description it says my numbers)...right now im running 201 whp and 161 tq with just bolt ons. A tune is the most valuable thing i ever did for my car. My car ran like shit when i didnt tune it. A tune just makes everything work in sync. Iv done a lot to the car but soon it will be meeting its end with me. I have 207000 miles on it. Runs great just going to give it to my lil bro to enjoy.

  • yeah im all about the clean look but didnt really have the dough to dish out on some rims so i just took into my own hands and painted them..sanded them down put three coats of the gunmetal paint evenly let it sit for the appropriate time and then did a few clear coats on top...came out much better then i thought, and cost me like nothing.

  • In the end though if i added up all the expenses definitely talking around 10 grand. and I shopped for deals too. Just be patient, if you got a goal in mind everything will come together. This project was a good 3 years of my life and i learned sooo much

  • megan racing headers are cheaper n bettter than dc sports...i have a 98 lude wit a jdm h22...i got aem v2, s2 68tb, s2 manifold, megan racing headers, 3in full exhaust, p28ecu @ 195whp...if u get a jdm h22 u wont be dissapointed trust me!

  • How hard was it to put on the skunk2 manifold? How did you do the egr mount? Also wondering how the skunk2 throttle body was to put on? Thanks any help would be appreciated! I am thinking baout buying all skunk2 and don't know if its worth it or not.

  • Hey, I dont know if anyone has responded to your question yet, but i have a skunk2 manifold as well and it was fairly simple to install except for the egr mount. The manifold comes with an egr mounting bracket but since the egr is not mounted to the actual manifold like the stock one it makes the check engine light come on and you will need to fiddle with the throttle cable because your rpms drop a lot when the car is idleing.

  • Doesnt the 97 prelude come with 195hp stock? i dont understand how ur getting 192? Someone explain im lost.

  • dynoes measure hp to the wheels (192.63 whp). 195 hp is what manufacturers measure at the crank (Pretty much the power of the engine by itself before all the energy has to be distributed to the wheels. A LOT of power is lost before those wheels start moving. A stock prelude is around 155-165 whp

  • nope the stage 1 cams from skunk 2 dont require you to change the retainers or springs. And the car is still running like a beast with 190000 miles on it to this day

  • yes, pretty much what you said. If you took the engine out and put it on a dyno, a stock h22 is supposed to produce around 195hp. After the engine has been installed and one figures in the transmission and drive train power loss, you then get whp(the actual hp that is making it to the wheels.)

  • The stock honda prelude is approximately 195 hp.. so if you had any of those add-ons, you would be nearer to 250 hp.

  • that is pretty damn fast. its 200hp at the flywheel stock. this one is 183 at the wheels that means its about 240 at the flywheel. that that is alot.

  • 183 whp is gonna come out to about 210hp at the flywheel, not 240. A bone stock H22A4 is about 195 as stated previously, with anywhere from 168 - 175whp depending upon the transmission and the compression of the engine. therefore 183whp is going to put the flywheel hp somewhere around 210. please note that these numbers are all estimates, not exact numbers
