What the hell is if not shred, is a very good song, in a record where all the guys are shred this song is a interesting change, and is not easy to play, i like this more than alexi a roope song.

The song is ok but what's behind this all is the fact that Emppu can't shred like Laiho and the other guys. Not really that it matters cos there's too many shredders in this world already. It's the same thing with Nightwish - none of Emppu's solos are really shred.

Yea you could say romantice is shred but i still don't get the hype around Emppu. He is a good guitarist and does he's job in NW very well but why praise a guy who can play simple powerchords and (mostly) slow melodic solos? There are probably thousands of guitarist who can play the same stuff that Emppu. Why aren't they called as "kings", too?

he plays like he does. that makes him special. Alexi can be played by satriani as well. also things like bb king can be played by many other guitarists... the point is, that only the originals have the original style.

So i like Emppu for what he does. And he is even able to shred. or what do you call a solo like the two ones in Over The hills? A cover , sure, but he does it ;)
