Im sure you know, as they get older the meat gets tougher. The younger they are the better. If you boil em, they slide right out of the shell.

Didn't you say you were going to keep them awhile so they would be less vulnerable to predators? I have never seen baby turtles except in pet stores, and I have never seen any that small. They are so tiny!

I found a huge(about 9 x 6) Western Painted turtle a couple of weeks ago. I had never seen one that big before. I took it to a pond about a mile away. When I got it near the water it got very agitated. They definately can sense when water is near.

Great turtle catching Ralph, Isaac, and Kyle! that must have been loads of fun, I wish there were turtles where I live! Are you going to keep the one that is deformed and would not sink? That would be pretty cool to raise one up that wouldn't have otherwise survived in the wild!
