Thanks for the comments. I was filming with my point and shoot digital camera, but I suppose it makes a noise too. I have been able to attract chickadees consistently to hand feed now. They land all over me when I come out in my yard with seeds. You have to be the source of seeds...no other feeders or spilled seed around.
if you are wondering why they fly away so quickly, its that the camcorder makes noise. the birds hear it as a very loud and annoying sound. it would help if you filmed it from a distance and zoomed in.
