Our missing Governor saved taxes, like when he eliminated auto safety inspections. The People still pay for Inspections, having a Governor during natural disasters and road plowing, BUT he eliminated the service, itself. If we pay for something that we don't get, where do cash savings go? Answer: "Million Dollar Salary Tax Repealed" The million dollar a year families couldn't care less... they don't hang in Jersey for blizards, they're in Florida partying with Governor Christie!
If US public education was the best of the best in the world, I think many people would look the other way regarding how the teacher's unions work.
However, these ultra-liberal groups have really messed up public education and dumbed down our kids so much that it's easy to see that their highest priority is not teaching kids but looking after the high-paid administrators and advancing liberal/socialist causes.
@Beatleboy62 You can thank your over paid teachers union. Accounts have to be settled sooner or later and it looks like you just got stuck with the bill. Sorry about the cuts that affect you, but it was just a matter of time... Many other states will be in the same situation.
@Beatleboy62 Thank the unions. Ask your teachers the next time you see them, why they would not take a pay cut to continue the programs. Like Gov Christie said, It's time the unions put some skin in the game.
the taxpayers didn't give away the store , the corrupt politicians did to take care of the family members and freinds getting them jobs with state pensions ! let it collapse ! 4 years i'm outta here , i'm not spending my self funded pension to pay for theirs ! the pigs are getting slaughtered , let'em eat cake !
This is a man based in logic. We cannot spend our way out of debt. Decreasing funding for unions and their pensions that cannot be paid needs to end. Christie for president in 2012!
Let this guy get New Jersey back on it's feet. Let him work with the legislators(hopefully, he'll have Republicans to help him soon) to get things done. After all this is done and New Jersey is back, then, and only then, should Gov. Christie run for President. He will have lots more experience governing and will be better able to run our country. He's the MAN!!!
The fastest way to make that happen is for the people of NJ to get behind him and help him make the changes in our government that so desperately need to be made.
Townships of 1, 2, 4, 6...15 square miles do not have to have top to bottom governments, police forces, school systems, mayors, tax departments etc.
Combined services would save money that all of out taxes could be reduced.
Excellent. Just Perfect. Let this man run for president. For god sakes... no. For the sake of our country, I want a Christie to be the United States president. Get the government out of my life, for the sake of the country!!!!!

Due to the School Budget Cuts, my school no longer has Freshman sports, or any freshman afterschool activity that uses money, no matter how little.
Way to keep kids off the street.

@TheNewWaveSlave No, here's what happened:
The teachers were given two options:
Freeze their salaries, and save all the new teachers.
Don't freeze their salaries, fire all the new teachers.
The teachers asked for written confrimation that the new teachers WOULD NOT be fired if they froze their salaries.
They did not get confrimation of that.
The teachers decieded to freeze their salaries, but then the new teachers got fired anyway!
(Wait for next post)

@Beatleboy62
And now they're taking away freshman activities at my school.
My mother who has been teaching for 32 years is now stuck with a class of 30, and the same salary she has had for 15 years!

Full funding over 600 municipalities is nuts.
