Lots of drone. Scottwax is right. A long trip with a loud droning exhaust is awful. I sometimes kept it in 5th on the highway if I had people in the car and we were trying to hold a conversation.

I'm late in asking this, I'm sure, but how bad did this thing drone?

My glasspack was terrible. I don't mind a little drone, but mine was so loud it'd give me a headache at highway speeds, so I've been looking into baffled exhausts versus straight-through glasspacks.

Not true. I think there is such thing as too loud of an exhaust. Its not like the louder your exhaust the more power your car has. Plus there are too many idiots who take their old beat up pos 4 cyl accords, civics, mitsubishis, cavaliers etc and fly around revving the shit out of them with their fart can exhausts and they sound like shit. This car sounds nice though I prefer sleepers that don't make themselves known until the stoplight turns green.

How old is the exhaust in the video? I just got mine, I have the exact same setup as you. Cattman headers & Megan CB, but mine sounds different for some reason.

The exhaust was about a month old. It was broken in so maybe yours hasn't broken in or something? Who knows, could be the POS camera or maybe that the camera was 2 feet from the muffler?

Not much if any, only heard the timing chain once. I hardly ever check the dip stick annymore because its always full.

Check 0:33 and some at 0:16 which is why I asked.

It looks like oil, I may be wrong. If its running rich the smoke should be black and not blue-white.

I know ur just trying to help, sorry if I sounded defensive. I don't disagree with you. It looks like it's burning oil in the video. I was just saying over the course of the car's life it hasn't been burned much oil.

hey man, i know this is an old video, but i wanted to ask you some questions... i have an 03 max with headers right now and i'm thinking of getting a catback.. yours sounds pretty good, but can you tell me is there any drone while you're driving?

Yes there is drone. The worst is when cruising on the highway between around 2000-2500 rpm. Sometimes I would downshift into 5th just to get rid of the drone. This is what eventually led me to get rid of the megan rear piece. I have the megan b pipe and stock rear piece on now and its much better for road trips, passengers and watching movies in the max. Cruising around town I really liked this set up though.

I have a different set up now. I'm running a Magnaflow SS 14816 muffler. Looks better and deeper idle.

Actually modern catalytic converters are not that restrictive. I like it a lot, no complaints whatsoever.

sounds good, you should throw on a test pipe tho and get ride of that cat, most restrictive part of your set up, plus they are heavy as hell!
