ice jam breaks on mohawk river, schenectady, ny

My grandmother told me how her and her brother skipped school (ca. 1910) when she lived in Schenectady to watch the ice break up on the Mohawk. I see why it would have been a big draw!

Damn, that is some brown, slushy ice.

You should see the St. Clair River ice jams... solid white for miles.
