  • Nice video. Really nice Charatan you have there. That Barling bulldog is a great choice as well. That Dunhill looks like a champ! Cheers!

  • Great vid! If the stem on that Upshall is really green, you may want to bleach it (after protecting the tenon with vaseline)? Also, if your friend's buffing wheel is a bench grinder with a cloth wheel, be really careful, as they spin extremely fast and it's quite easy to erode any corners, the bit, etc. I have a few videos on bleaching and buffing that you may dig if you're doing a stem for the first time. If that's not the case, please pardon the intrusion:) Best regards ~ Charlie

  • Good video man! I've found that when my stems are too tight on a few pipes, a bit of fine steel wool proves to get the job done most of the time. After i sand it down, i use a trick one of my military buddies taught me. He used to put graphite ("lead" pencil) on the moving parts of his c7 as a dry lubricant and so i tried this with my stubborn pipe stems. It works great! :) Its cheap, and its an odorless dry lube that wont be absorbed by any part of the pipe. Hope that helps!

    Cheers!
