I have the EX470 with WHS PP3. I uninstalled the HP MediaSmart Server program from desktop. Instead of that, I log on using Remote Desktop then access the Server Console on the server's desktop. I see there's an improved HP tab on the console. But I don't want to do a Server Recovery to get that new tab. Is there any real advantage in upgrading to the MSS 3.0 update? And can I do it without doing a server recovery?
If I understand correctly...After uninstalling the HP connector, It will still find the HP Server during the installation process?...If this is incorrect please let me know...By the way, you're video's are excellent as is your response time...Thanks again for the help...
@kilagon10 You do not need the connector for the Recovery Process but if you are worried then you can just leave it alone and reinstall after. You can even see in the first video that I do not have the connector installed by the lack of desktop icons for the HP and Shared folders.

@hulkhatepunybanner The 3.0 server upgrade disks are no longer available from HP since they dropped the MSS line.

@kilagon10 Open your WHS Console, click on the HP MediaSmart Server icon, click on Media Server and then click on "Stop Sharing"

Sorry, I have an HP EX475 Mediasmart home server...Did you have to pay for the 3.0 software?

@kilagon10 The software is available from the HP website for $27.95. Go to HP.com and enter your model number.

My software was a review version and I did not pay for it.

@kilagon10 I would suggest uninstalling since it makes for a cleaner process. No reboot is required after an install.
