@joeyman62995 im 12 but i play catcher. you dnt have to have the stance in this video. if you watch baseball on tv, im pretty sure Yadier Molina has a stance where hes squatting on one leg and has his other leg out like a goalie in hockey. i use that stance and it works well. oh, and if a runner steals, dont throw every time. if hes more than halfway there u dont have a chance and ur better off just keeping the ball.

this catcher sucks hes to high, both his body and glove. If the catcher is high then the ump has to stand higher to see the plate and this will take away the lower part of the strike zone. The glove should be at the knees not at the belt. Belt high is the "cock shot" for most to all batters and at the end of the day the pitcher will have a sore neck from watching so many home runs. A ball at the knees will usually end up as an out ether a ground out or fly out.

there's no way that throw got anywhere near second...the hardest problem i had to learn, believe it or not, was calling pitches where the opposing team couldn't seen them. we had two cathers on varsity, the way our coach chose first string was, we wore only our shin guards. pitchers were told to throw only fastballs. first one to miss a pitch was second string. sometimes, i still duck my head, trying to avoid the pitch.

Most catchers, including myself, do it out of habit. Make sure the cup is protecting what it should be protecting. Or if there's a runner on a second and there's a sequence of signs, a tap on the cup means, for me, "screw everything I just gave you, and bring the fastball."
