I'm a die-hard Snow Patrol fan (unlike most people here who only know this song and would probably freak out if they listened to Songs For Polar Bears) but I bloody hate this song. Not in a "ok it's not their best song and it's pretty overrated but its still fine" way but in a "What the hell where you thinking, Gary??" way. This song is the reason why a lot of people think SP is corny and cheesy. They're not.

Sorry, but I have no idea of what are you talking about Astedlund. Which "friend" do you mean? When I said Gary, I meant Gary Lightbody,the singer of SP. I don't know him, but I know he's written songs that are a million times better. Compared to the lyrics of The Lightning Strike or How To Be Dead this song is dull mainstream crap. I'm sure lots of people can relate to this song, but I still think is lame and hollow.

I still love SP though. I just skip Chasing Cars when I play Eyes Open.
