Ok, after just listening to Melinda's My Funny Valentine I would have been fine if she won Idol instead. I fell in love wih Jordin during AI, but Melinda's MFV was the single best performance of the whole season. Either way the final should have been those two.

Anyone notice how when Simon said "congratulations to you two," to Jordin and Blake, he didn't use their names, but used Melinda's name when referring to Melinda? That has meaning, Simon saw Melinda as the true winner and best singer.

It's alright, it just makes me so happy that twenty years from now, when certain contestants throughout Idol that have gotten through based off of looks, won't be able to rely on image and will instead have to rely on their talent. From what I understood Ken Warwick, one of idols executive producers to say in a radio interview on the day of this elimination, that when the votes were being tallied, that there were evident patterns of split voting between both of the girls' fanbases which in turn paved the way for Blake to make it into the finale.
