Wow, this was the year I was born. All the greenery is pretty, but to me (coming from someone who has never seen the park without the millennium) it looks a tad underdeveloped and empty. But either way, 21 days 'til opening day for 2011 :D.
It's crazy just how much the park has changed since. My mother visited the park in 2005 for the first time 1980, she was rather surprised. The park has felt basically the same for years, once they added Dragster though, that majorly changed my favorite midway in the park.
That's pretty nuts.... The first time I went was in 1999 so thats pretty much how I remember the park from my first time... The only thing that wasn't there was the Power Tower and malt shop in front of Iron Dragon...
Awe this brings back memories! This was the year I first got to go! We live a days drive away so it took years of begging to get to go =) I was 15 years old and it was such a blast! Cedar Point is my favorite place in the world!
That brings back some memories. I remember when the Raptor and the Mantis were both new. I think it was the Mine ride that was the first coaster built though, not the Blue Streak.
cedar point did get way better then it was. but it never sucked. my dad was there like when corkscrew was new. and he said it was tons of fun then. and its even better now. the first coster is the bluestrek. wow its like a lil over 40 years old now. and cedar point itself is 103 years old. dont tell me its not coz it is. its the oldest part that is still running till this day. it used to just be like a fun place to be, it rilly did not have much costers at all.
its so weird seeing cedar point with out millenium or dragster... its funny to that most of these coasters were like the big coaster of the times and probably had monster lines.. now they are almost walk ons except mantis and raptor
Welcome Mantis!

I loved 1996! I went to Cedar Point in this year also! Lots of nostalgia! And the Atlanta Olympics made it better since I live in Atlanta!
