This machine needs fingers or a comb board to strip the spoil from the shafts. Without it all your doing is wrapping the tire strips around the knife spacers and binding up the shredder. A little water wouldn't hurt either for lubrication, cooling and fire prevention.
How ironic. Everytime I see the machine getting bogged down, I'd reach for a drink. Then I read someones comment about adding water... whew... damn good idea! *hehe*
