  • This was awesome until I realized it was put together by "the man"

  • My favorite part of every flash mob is when the first person is alone and everyone is like wtf haha

  • I was all about this until the marriott t-shirts

  • Cool music

  • Comment removed

  • OMG I've been to that airport so many times, truly an amazing spot for a flash mob.

  • Run flash mob run! The TSA are coming!!

  • @PsychoSpiral the who?

  • @CovertAnime TSA: Transport Security Administration in the US. Notorious for just being anal and considers everyone terrrorists. They like to grope people too in checkpoints.

  • lmao it reminds me of a corporate training video - the ones with the corny songs and over enthusiastic dancers ROFLMAO

  • Call me oldfashioned but Flash Mobs don't advertise things and they don't wear tshirts with company logos on them :S

  • I'd call this a Flashpro.

  • @ginamariedibella

A flashmab is something when people suddenly gather for an unusual act for a breif moment in time. Conclusion is @TheHeatherl2075 is right, This is a flashmob from my city.

  • Stop corporate flash mobs flash mob coming soon!

  • Ooohhhh. man, sorry. That was a conmmercial, not flash mob, guys. (awkward..................)

  • this is NOT a flashmob... get with the program

  • @ginamariedibella YESSS IT ISSS!!

  • watch?v=WFZNzSvDht0

  • You know it'd be embarrasing if the music stopped when everyone was out there still dancing -_-

  • Great dancers! Boring song. :(

  • Who cares if this isn't a flash mob? It's simply awesome-looking.

    Just use your imagination. =D

  • it kinda looks staged sorry, but when did flash mobs go cooperate????

  • It's a corporate flash mob. Y'all need to get over yourselves and off the high horse of 'oh this is a disgrace to flash mobs' blah blah blah. Yes, it's advertising, yes it's a flash mob and yes some of you are idiots for denying it. :/

  • wait....they're selling something.??...i was trying to figure out what dam song it was at first....

  • Are you saying real flash mobs aren't allowed to rehearse? There are no flash mobs that start spontaneously... it is the illusion of the spontaneity that makes it a flash mob.

  • Having been to this airport many 'a time, I'm surprised they even got that middle cleared out

  • booo for marketing...takes all the fun out of it

  • Disappointed- not a flash mob but a marketing gimmick. Boo

  • a flash mob is just an unscheduled (to outsiders) event happening around a ton of people. What difference does it make if it's an advertisement or not.

  • hmm....yes I agree, this may not be an actual flash mob in a sense....but I'd have to say this is a pretty Damned good attept at advertising. They worked hard on getting the attention there. more awesome that just posting up another billboard in the airport or slapping up a poster somewhere. and it made for an excitingly random day for the spectators. kudos.

  • At least the corporation is supporting an art form for free to the public. I have been a community artist for 30 years and think there is a place for shows (as you say) and flashmobs. Maybe we should encourage them to support without the T shirts for the hotel.

  • atlanta rocks, but anything outside of atl, most of the people are religious zealots!!!

  • I live near Atlanta and fly in and out of the ATL airport fairly often. It would have been SO cool to be there when this happened!

  • Really awesome!!!

  • music and dance definitley connects and unnites all of us. one race. one love. one world.

  • I think in a way that is a great way to market the business. On the other hand flash mobs are supposed to be a random fun way to bring a smile to people's faces and remind them to live a little. It should not really be some planned out advertisement. I think advertisements already suck enough time out of our lives they are everywhere we turn. Please dont take over flash mobs too it will take the fun right out of it.

  • Very good....well organized and choreographed. Thanks for posting.

  • i live in Atlanta. and my birthday is 9/30. i LOVE this! <3

  • i'm pretty sure by the look of surprise and obvious enjoyment of the travelers that the flashmob was successful. so all you fun sponges should stop whining. geez. it's not like you were there.

  • The best flash mobs are the ones where they blend in completely with the public, no obvious cameras present, perform something awesome out of nowhere and just scatter as if nothing has happened!

  • why are people getting all moody about places paying for "flash mobs"? Get over it people. The real point of them are to make people smile and laugh and give them something different in their everyday lives.

  • @bSzidonut You touched lightly on what the point of a flashmob is. However you failed to recognize that they accomplish said task by being innovative, ground-breaking, and often carry a message of unity. This is a corporation taking notice of a trend, hiring dancers, and staging a real time commercial. It's offensive- up next, The official Marriot planking ad-campaign.

  • the lady in the white is my neighbor.. how awkward is that?

  • wow nice :D

  • Why?

  • Ich liebe Flashmob´s

  • @Syntenex26 translation I LOVE FLASH MOBS

  • Ehhhh... First part Was REAALLYY awkward

  • not a flashmob but real cool

  • This makes me SO happy! :D

  • Go to see a French flashmob on youtube : To Hand The Torch first flashmob to Gare Haussman St Lazare Paris 2011

  • "You have rehearsals, etc." You mean you don't like flash mobs that involve people with actual talent?

Although, I will admit this song is horrible whether rendered by pros or amateurs.

  • its prob the marriott using a flash mob for adv...

either way, you need rehersals so that everyone knows what to do, else it would be a mosh pit...

  • It would be funny if only one person showed up for it

  • the only commercial flashmob I accept is one made by T-Mobile, as they brought it to totally different level.

    inhere, it's just show

  • Who cares if they're having fun?

  • get connected?

  • When corporations figured out that when folks are assembled somewhere they have a captive audience. As long as they're entertaining, I could care less whose behind them because, well, have you checked the price of a theater ticket lately? I think flash mobs (corporate or otherwise) are here to stay. Thank god. The illusion of spontaneity is just fun!

  • great ad...not a flashmob....fail.

  • I would love to do this. I think I definitly could round up some rebels with the dance cause. For sure I could find some like dancers.

  • too organized...no fun. the choreo was good but its not a real flash mob

  • Good way to advertise

  • @BigMPChris You're wrong. Not about this not being a flash mob because you're totally right on that one, but about its beginning.

  • I disliked this simply because it is a performance, not a flash mob. Misleading title. That said, the performance was pretty good.

  • flash mobs are an excellent (not really) "windage formula" for terrorists to learn the reaction time of a an unsuspecting crowd.

  • What about T-Moblie Flash Mob!?!?!? Your all wrong Even though its Corporate its still fun look up T-Moblie and rethink what you said.

  • THEY SOOOO GOT PAID FOR THAT LOL

  • AWWWSSSOOOMMMEEE I WANNA JOIN IN THE FUN LOL

  • i'd really wish to see this in cool places like Iraq and Afghanistan done by soldiers of coarse.

  • Why cant i be at my airport on a awesome day like this?!!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • Where was the TSA on this one????

  • hmmm I must've been off that day I would've remembered this lol

  • Yeah...........Yeah..............

  • Nicely produced and stuff, but a commercial "Flash Mob" needs to be something other than an advertising jingle. This does not TOUCH "Welcome Home" by T-Mobile, which chokes me up every time I see it. Not even close.

  • "maybe if we dance, they might buy our product"s -

Franklin Gaylord you have done it again, sheer genius.

  • Tell me if I'm wrong, but the initial delight of the flashmob was that it seemingly emerged from a place of grass-roots organization and love of dance. Therefore, when you have a corporate flashmob, you have rehearsals, budgets, and blatant advertising. Therefore, this is not a flashmob...this is just a show.

  • @BigMPChris i agree when its just for the hell of ti and fun its better but advertising doesnt go well

  • @BigMPChris exactly.

  • @BigMPChris that may be true but for the people in the audience who didn't know this was going to happen it still has the wonderful surprise aspect that all flashmobs have.

  • @BigMPChris

It might be a show, but damn, it's a good one ;-)

  • @BigMPChris any flashmob needs to be rehearsed if it is to look good - you cant just say lets go out htere and do it, people even get fined for not organising these things - I think well done to Marriott for doing somthing out of hte ordinary - not just some billboard, or tea and cakes etc., but something interesting and exciting.

  • @BigMPChris For any flashmob to be succesful it needs some measure of rehearsal, however, this is probably the corniest flash mob I have ever seen!! haha!

  • @BigMPChris so corporates can't have some fun n just dance.

  • @BigMPChris I agree with most of this. Where we differ - Rehearsals. Sure it's meant to seem spontaneous, but even the true to roots flash mobs have some sort of rehearsal, practice, even if it's by video, on your own time, even one rehearsal. But the rehearsals don't discredit a flash mob being a flash mob.

I have no issue with good and important messages being spread through a flash mob, but like you say blatant advertising is different. :)

  • I would be pissed if I missed my plane...just sayin

  • since when did flash mobs go corporate?

  • @Godlim17 i think since Tmobile

  • @Godlim17 Uh T-mobile several years ago.

  • @Godlim17 well ever since Howdy Mandel got involved, but then Flashmobs, were never just totally on the spot,,,there always was rehearsals of one form or another, and prearranged parts...the idea ALWAYS was to entertain the bystanders....

  • I've been with Marriott for 13 years, and they have lived up to J.W. Marriott's belief that "When you take good care of your people, they’ll take pride in their work and take good care of the customers."

  • Go Mo!!! So happy to see you dance! Love Kat & Joe

  • Very good marketing idea. Now, how about credits for all the dancers? That'll help them get more work :)

  • If you like this, then you HAVE to see the hotel! It is absolutely gorgeous and state of the art! From the minute you walk through the front door you will say..."WOW" and you'll keep saying it everywhere you go. Way to go Marriott!

  • Brilliant! A faux flash mob. What a clever mash-up of dance troupe, flashmob and marketing.

    Flash mark-dancing!

    Congratulations Marriott!!

  • Fantastic, or should we say 'flashtastic', job! We're proud to be partners with the best new Marriott in the system and the world's busiest and best airport, H-JAIA!

  • Great job, Marriott Atlanta Airport Gateway!

  • Great concept!

  • Great Job!!!! As an event planner... I must come down for a site.

  • Very cool! I'd like to see a version with TSA workers.

  • Great Video!

  • Nice Work!

  • Awesome video!!!

  • The video is so addictive! I dare you to try and get that song out of your head. Get used to it; it'll stay there for days. Great job! III

  • Very cool!

  • OMG, the best ever! Thanks to everyone who was a part! Especially Jo and Bubba!!!
