Hi - quick question before my puny head explodes - can someone point out a predictive model of the AGW hypothesis (with acceptable error margins) to me? I was told by an atmospheric chemist two years ago that no such model existed (and probably wouldn't for some time due to the complexity of the system), and thus have been remaining *skeptical*...I would like to get on board with the consensus (kind of a dirty word in science) - do we now have this?
@jcantlie Yes, you can check the IPCC climate models and the real temperature data points and see how they match up. I believe it is in the 90% range in accuracy. Recent reports show that IPCC might be wrong and the earth is heating up far faster then predicted. IPCC is on the low end of the possible future temps. I can send you a direct link to models if you want?
either way,it's warming,Mars< this video is three years old-------our planet has a 23.5 degree wobble and we are moving through space how fast? NASA? Yes,let's listen to them, they always tell the truth. You should get a job with Fox or CNN,they always tell the truth too. Good Luck and no harm,I just disagree because you agree with people that lie to us all the time,i.e. politicians
Carbon tax is a disgusting crime against Humanity. CO2 whether man-made or otherwise doesn't drive global climate, it never has, it never will, the Sun does...
@twindwick Ironically to that this is also among the primary reasons why "the cost of living" is going up. Bills, and petrol prices are key contributors apart from mortgage. And you are defending the same people that would have you believe that climate change is not real and you go out everyday and pay these people approx on average about 10k a year or MORE (as years go by) for the rest of your life. And then accuse others that are saving money that they are "enslaved". You dumbass.
@twindwick Then there is the people like you, who have been helplessly deluded by these companies who have a conflict of interest. And you are willing to defend thier argument against climate change believing its a conspiracy... regardless of the fact that EVERY independent scientist FROM ANY COUNTRY (hence why would ur gov only be interested? hmm interesting as its not true) agrees its happening. The only REAL enslavement is you having to pay bills and petrol to those that are the skeptics. lol
@twindwick And now comes your Rothschild theory. The fossil fuel companies realise that self-generated renewable energy= bad for business, they will lose cash as you can see via what my mate did. No bills, no petrol costs... nadda. So what do these companies do? They invest millions into lobbyists, paying media, and spreading misinformation about climate change to hold up climate bills for better energy and higher housing standards. No bill is passed, the reap the profits
@twindwick btw he also has a 400km range electric car... which he recharges via the energy his home produces... so no cost on petrol either and its not even polluting car. Sigh
@twindwick Not only that prevents pollution but it saved about 3k worth of bills a year... in 4 years he paid the difference it costed to install all that to his home. And now he doesn't pay anything apart from service costs. He has 3 kids and a wife and that's enough for them to get by comfortably. Its funny that all countries that pursue this generally also have higher education, and living standards. But you can live in the "flat earth" world your dreaming up you joke.
@twindwick Its an irony too that most nations that have adopted climate change tactics are actually saving money where you promote it costs money. Yeah it does at first but the pay off comes 4-5 years down the track. My friend who is also an architect (like myself) pays only $80 in bills a year, and thats just a service charge for being connected to the power grid. Didn't use any electricity or even water the whole year from the city. Had solar panels, well insulated home and a water tank.
@twindwick Plus also the UN was against the invasion of Iraq... it cautioned the US and declared that there were no weopons of mass destruction there. Ironically US went in thier for the oil... thats right, the people that are the climate change skeptics were the ones that went in there or tried to justify to go in there.
Oh the irony of what you say. Kissing the real butts of the REAL rothschilds of this would without realising it.
@twindwick right so you don't believe the IPCC but have NO PROBLEM believing all the skeptics that are funded by the fossil fuel companies... real wise mate. Real wise... they are the real rothschild's of the world as they have personal profit to gain, esp thier CEO's. Public office on the hand contrasted to CEO pays is nothing... ratio of about 1:100. And then you accuse the public office of fraud and hug the companies you try to fuel the skepticism of climate change.
@twindwick LOL and ice age???? You claim to have an understanding of how earth cycle around the sun works but that clearly demonstrates that you don't if you believe that we will see an ice age in our life time, or even in the next 1000 years. Ice ages are linked to the Milankovitch cycles (earth cycles) and the last time that peaked was 20,000 years ago and each cycle is about 100,000 to 120,000 years apart... that means it will be at least 80k years till we see an ice age... you ignoramus
@twindwick P.S. The thing in Mexico is only local to that region within that latitude. Again due to La Nina. But whatever, its obvious you have peanuts for brains. The rest of the world can vouch for the other scenario. You live in your little insulated world of domestic weather and climate if it suits you.
Meanwhile I am returning to the reality the world actually faces. Not your little day dream.
@twindwick cont... why??? because people like you believe that emitting MILLIONS of TONNES of Carbon in the atmosphere which would NOT have NATURALLY OCCURRED has NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER ON THE CLIMATE. Sorry but that's ignorance on a grade A level. Like I said you have become so adjusted to the system you live in (lifestyle) that you would deny the truth even if its blaring in front of you, and would defend what you "believe", however this does not stop what is actually happening in reality.
@twindwick 5) Do you have ANY idea how the magnetic pulls of the Earth work?? Yes we are still in a natural cycle of the ice age, but from what the sedimentary deposits and the ice layers on the Antarctic and Arctic tell us that this rise in tempreture IS UNNATURAL. It should take longer for world to heat up, but we are accelerating that process significantly to lets say... instead of 1000 years to 200 years? Cont...
@twindwick 4) "So you believe cars are responsible for all of this??"
So you believe cars are solely responsible for this? Such a dumb statement that its actually horrifying. Its the method that factories, the freight trains, tankers, airplanes, power plans, cars, production of goods etc etc that has caused this. You can be happy and live with the narrow minded view which you have.
@twindwick 3) The spike in global cooling is due to the fact there was a El Nina this year, the fact that the last decade has been the 8 most hottest records in the world has nothing to do with it? El Nina has temporal effects, but last only one year, then things go on again. Its a retarded argument used by people like you and taken out of context. Pick up a book and learn how the El Nino and El Nina cycles work.
@twindwick 2) Enslavement? WOW big words for something you wouldn't have to do to much off. 'Oh boo hoo I can't have a car that emits a few tonnes of co2 every year!" "Boo hoo I need to recylce my compost, boo hoo I can't leave all the electricity in my house running all night, boo hoo, i might need to get solar panels which might also save me money in the future, boo hoo look I am in chains of this enslavement" Is pretty much what you are saying...
@twindwick 1) again you are comparing this to someone not remotely related and calling it the same thing, a fallacy in argument. If I were to do the same I could simply say your are not adjusted to change, similar how creationists would never accept evolution. Morpheus said in the Matrix: "many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it." even if its more harmful to the world.
See whats wrong with this? Its not related... stick to the point.
@twindwick To help out your significantly inhibited mind, look up "latitude" in wikipedia, you should be presented with a "Annual Mean Temperature" map, showing all the latitude. I am assuming you are from the US, so to you the weather may seem typical, cloud= cold, etc etc. But to the MAJORITY OF THE REST OF THE WORLD that isn't the case as you may see all the centre latitudes with cover a enormously huge percentage of the planet can testify that your cloud bullshit means nothing there.
@twindwick 1) Seem to know jack shit about climate. I am sorry, but that's all I got from you in the post by trying to relate me to someone who deceives the public is a argumental falacy and just shows how little understanding you have.
2) We have BILLIONS of dollars of equipement in orbit, which include measuring the suns cosmic rays. So you are saying that all the billions already spent are just lying when they say the sun isn't heating up significant to affect any planet? Or are u just dumb
@twindwick What your talking about is "local" data and using simple example...
"Cloud = rain... Cloud mean cold, I can't understand the dynamics of climate... "
Anyway how do I know about the petty cloud argument being true? Simple I am part of a mountaineering club and i go on regular hikes and camps throughout the country. And understanding the weather and the climate is PIVITAL to me. SO by predicting how hot it will be in the morning by judging the clouds in the air is a useful indicator.
@twindwick Sunny Day = Accumulation of heat.. YES... BUT when Mars orbits and is facing AWAY from the sun and if the clouds are still there, the heat that was accumilated can NOT escape the atmosphere thus causing the planet to heat up.
Try an experiment to test this. On a sunny day with no clouds, its hot, yes? Now that night has no clouds too... it gets a lot cooler. Now the SAME experiment, but at night there are clouds... does the heat escape? No... and its warmer than without clouds.
@twindwick lol obviously you have NEVER lived in the tropics, as I have... I can tell you the monsoon season is a lot worse than summer, and the clouds do nothing to make it a "cold" day. Your perspective on how climate works is so simple and childish. In the monsoon season temperatures remain the same (sometimes even more) despite the area being covered in clouds.
@twindwick er the reason why Mars is heating up IS the dust clouds that trap heat on the planet without it being able to escape. As a good example... look at Venus, the clouds that cover it only intensify its temperatures. Also since a lot of this dust is dark it absorbs heat ALOT more easily than if it was white (which would simply reflect the heat).
Deniers continually question our ability to measure warming on this planet, yet display metaphysical certainty that they know what is happening on other planets.
We have much more accurate measure of solar activity from satellites, we do not need to guess what is happening on other planets as a solar proxy.
since you've cited, you should now have no problem actually reading it:
"Beyond some form of instrument failure or degradation, past authors have attributed this drift to either alteration of surface thermal properties by the Apollo astronauts [1-3] or the 18.6 year component of the lunar orbit [5,6, 9]."
@twindick: Cripes, do you comment on ALL of these videos? It's one thing to have an opinion, it's another to devote lord-knows how many hours ranting about it. Are you being paid for this?? I certainly hope so. If not, you're getting shafted doing for free what certain PR firms and oil industry think-tanks are paying good money for.
If you watched the video, you would have understood that the dust in question affected where the dark and light areas of the planet were, and how much light they reflected (albedo). This is what the research was saying about temp change on mars.
You are correct that dust and aerosols in the atmosphere can reflect solar energy. That is not the issue that the article discussed was referencing.
I know you will say planet x is not real. But I beg to differ look up the pioneer space probe in the encyclopedia and tell me its not going to a dear star they called it then. Dead star, brown dwarf, planet x, all they did was change the name. Kind of like they changed the name of the New World Order to Global governance. Same dam thing just a new name. Global warming to climate change because the cold did not go according to their plans. The list goes on government is deceitful nothing more.
Now you say scientist say, well scientist said pot killed braincells when the government paid scientist to look at it but when the universities did their studies they proved that all the government scientist lied. But the facts are the Jews cant make money killing the people if they know how to cure themselves. Funny how pot has been used to cure so many things for 5000 years but when the Jews run the medical field it no longer works. HMMMM nothing suspicious here.
You forgot to mention how NASA said 2012 will be a solar maximum that we have never even seen, you forgot to mention that a moon of Saturn has melted to Liquid Ocean; you also forgot to mention the superstorm on Saturn which NASA admitted has grown across the entire northern part of Saturn. How can our pollution be causing this? Planet x is real and coming and when it passes things will return to normal. I know we have the technology to test the sun for warming but not any of the planets right?
Do you have an actual argument, or just ad hominems and strawman fallacies? You generalize everyone who disagrees with you, and repeatedly insult their intelligence. This video is pathetic, and there's a certain poetic irony in the fact that you state any information that disagrees with you is "sketchy" and "we just don't know" when you would insult anyone making the same arguments about warming here. Your use of the term "denier" crassly relates this to the Holocaust and is frankly disgusting.
@greenman3610 No, you cherry-picked two instances, then generalized it to the entirety of anyone who disagrees with you, while vomiting childish insults.
How about Habibullo Abdussamatov? You can find people who disagree with him, but none who can prove him wrong. His theory is it's caused by the sun. He's been written up in National Geographic a bit.
And really, do you expect anyone to take you seriously spewing strawman fallacies, childish generalizations, and referencing the Holocaust?
@greenman3610 So another words, instead of actually refuting it, you dismiss it off hand without actually verifying it?
You call that an argument? What are you, twelve? Oh right, you only consider that which agrees with you "reality" how patently childish.
Well, seeing as you dismissed it instead of refuting it, I take that as you admitting you were wrong. It's funny how something you "read for the pictures" completely took the piss out of your garbage kiddo.
@greenman3610 When did I ever mention Glenn Beck? Guilt by association much? Are you just trying to hit every fallacy you can in the course of this discussion?
You try childishly in this laughable video to dismiss anyone who disagrees with you by showing two articles, and generalizing the entire argument. I demonstrated that there is evidence, and there are those in the scientific community who disagree with you. You lost. You lied. Grow up and deal with it kid.
I'd be embarrassed if I was on the same side of any fence with Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, or Sara Palin, so I understand you're upset. But hey, you hang out with coconuts, you get coconut friends.
I've produced a video to which you have not yet cited a fact, a paper, or a specific critique, other than you don't like it. I'll admit, having read a sentence in nat geo, you've done more research than the average denialist troll, but still, if you want respect here, bring facts.
@greenman3610 So, once again, all you reply with is guilt by association? That's not an argument.
And this video didn't contain facts, as I stated you try to generalize EVERYONE who disagrees with you based on two single links. I've shown that there are more that disagree with you. That proves your entire video is built on a false premise.
Now, do you have an actual reply to this, or will you just compare me to someone you don't like for lack of anything to say?
@greenman3610 Again, I already did. You greatly generalized anyone who disagrees with you with two-fucking-links. I provided another example that essentially destroyed this claim utterly. Descent is there, there are articles that point out the climate change on other planets is unusual. This utterly destroys your paltry two solitary links.
Do you get that? Is this getting through to you, or are you so used to dismissing, stereotyping, and generalizing that you can't understand that you're wrong
The Earth is cooling down not warming up. A polar bear told me this while I was hugging a tree. You are in denial of the fact that your insect overlords have brain washed you. Mankind has zero effect on Earth climate.
Ahh how nice of you to cherry pick. SOURCES: Global Warming Protects Antarctic Sea Ice — But Not For Long; Global Warming And The World Food Supply; Global Warming and Hurricanes. Now I would like to hear your opinion on those researches please.
Currently, global hurricane activity continues to decrease, and is now at record lows. World agricultural output continues to increase year after year, contradicting claims of decreased food production. Antarctica is cooling, not warming, southern sea ice has been increasing for as long as we've had records, and there's been no statistically significant global warming since 1995.
Deniers are often authoritarians, who insist on black and white.
Science deals in gray areas, nuance, and probabilities.
Still, it's amazing how many deniers, including you, write with absolute confidence that somehow, you know exactly what is happening on Mars, when even our best scientists, yes, use the words "may" and "might".
If we "might" make the planet unfit to support civilization, I think that is worth my attention, and serious consideration.
One truly has to wonder why Greenman spends his entire life making and posting these videos, and responding like a martyred zealot when anyone challenges his faith with a post here. Global warming truly is the new religion.
Greenman, do you actually wear a robe while posting ... or do you just say a little prayer to Mother Gaia after each post?
@ttowntom One truly has to wonder why you are posting comments with satire in favour of your unproven "facts" on almost all of greenman's videos. His videos make alot more sense than anything you've ever contributed and I can also go back to the sources he provides, to check myself! I have no idea how people like you can be so scrupulous and naive at the same time about disproven objections from the global warming denial community. It disgusts me!
One can also check my references for what's happening here in the real world, rather than model predictions of the misty future, predictions made by people whose ever past prediction has failed to come true.
Real world facts like: hurricane activity is decreasing, and is currently at record lows. Or facts like Southern sea ice has been increasing as long as we've had satellite records. Or that the latest research has consistently failed to detect ANY accelerated sea level rise.
Or facts like global agriculture food production continues to increase each and every year, despite predictions that climate change will decrease yields. Or facts like the planet has seen no statistically significant increase in temperature for the last 15 years, despite models that predicted we should have seen the fastest rise in history. Even polar bear populations are on the rise, to the point that several nations now allow the purchase of hunting permits again.
How about facts like it isn't just the Earth and Mars that saw warming over the last century, but also Jupiter, Neptune's moon Triton, and likely several other bodies in the solar system. It's all just a coincidence to the alarmists of course...despite the fact that even the IPCC now admits that solar variance plays a larger role in climate change than first thought.
@ttowntom FFS give us your source of your so called "facts" or please stfu you worthless BP puppet. Make your own videochannel where you present your so called hard facts like greenman does PLEASE. Go ahead.
It's fascinating how AGW zealots react with irrational hatred when their views are challenged .. exactly like a religious fanatic when confronted with "heresy" in fact.
The source of my first fact in the last post is NASA and the JPL interplanetary group. The second is the IPCC AR reports, available online. What else do you wish to know ... or would you prefer to just spew personal attacks and insults?
When Greenman says 'NASA', he really means GISS ... a small office at the liberal Columbia University, which is affiliated with NASA. All the sky-is-falling climate pronouncements come from GISS.
GISS was founded and is headed by James Hansen, who in 1988 predicted that GW would cause NYC to be flooded by the year 2000, with winds high enough to break windows and widespread shortages of fresh water. How's that for credibility? Impressive, eh?
Unlike Hansen's crystal-ball predictions which are based only on his computer models, the evidence of global warming on Mars, Jupiter, Saturn's moons, and Pluto come from real-world data. Collected by NASA's Hubble Telescope, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and many other sources.
Trying to claim this isn't happening is futile. Even the most zealous of AGW alarmists isn't trying to deny it. They simply claim its all a coincidence, and that the warming on other planets has other causes.
try to control yourself. I get it that it makes you angry to be called out, but name calling will get you banned.
I googled, following your advice, and came to this article from NASA,
"Mars is Melting", from 2003.
quote:
"Like Earth, Mars has seasons that cause its polar caps to wax and wane. "It's late spring at the south pole of Mars," says planetary scientist Dave Smith of the Goddard Space Flight Center. "The polar cap is receding because the springtime sun is shining on it."
In 2003, researchers said the warming on Mars was seasonal only. In 2007, when warming was found to have continued for 20 years, researchers said it was due to "dust storms changing the planet's albedo" (study published in Nature, by L. Fenton, et al).
As to why Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, and Neptune's moon Triton are also warming, the basic explanation is it's all just a 'coincidence'.
The simplest explanation- that solar variance plays a larger role than from we first thought, is rejected.
Fenton et al's title says it all "Global warming and climate forcing by recent albedo changes on Mars".
They're saying that dust storms change albedo/reflectivity on the surface, and may affect temperature.
quote:
"documented albedo changes affect recent climate change and large-scale weather patterns on Mars, and thus albedo variations are a necessary component of future atmospheric and climate studies."
Is English not your native language? Yes, they claim the global warming on Mars is due to "dust storms". They also claim the global warming on Jupiter, Saturn, Triton, and Pluto are due to other causes. That's exactly what I said initially.
In other words, they think the warming of at least six different bodies (counting the Earth) in the solar system are due to six entirely different reasons, all of which are just coincidentally happening simultaneously.
They reject the simple explanation, that they just don't understand solar variance well enough to explain how one single source is driving all six changes.
you should really set them straight, dude. It's all so simple, why, who needs all that complicated "study", "learning", and "facts"...much easier to just feel it in your gut.
oh, and you'll have to explain Uranus' cooling when you publish your paper.
Nice obfuscation attempt, but there is no hard data to indicate Uranus is cooling. There's just one paper that suggests it *might*.
We know for a fact that many other bodies in the solar system are warming..the data on Pluto is a bit dicey, but Mars, Jupiter, and Triton are all experiencing significant global warming at present.
@ttowntom So what are you trying to tell us you o-so accurate-mister towntom anti AGW scientist? What is the point of this you're trying to accomplish here? You have convinced me. I'm with you man! All that scientists invovled in a conspiracy are telling us right now is BS and you're dead on man! Obviously you've got no idea how science works, no idea AT ALL. Those 10 years old "stories" convinced me that GW is all SUNS fault. Your so called facts are just childishly weak you moron.
You're right, the 31,000 scientists who all believe AGW is total nonsense are all involved in a massive conspiracy, aren't they? They're really all funded by the evil oil industry right? And the tens of billions of dollars given out by governments and environmental groups to fund AGW researchers doesn't influence anyone, yes?
Pass the pipe, I want some of whatever you're smoking.
@ttowntom why do you keep on mentioning things that greenman already debunked? 30k "scientists"... You are just trying to reach the lazy with your mind numbing efforts!
I'm glad you asked. The answer is because he didn't "debunk" them. The Oregon Petition is real, and has been signed by over 31,000 scientists.
Of that total, 3,697 have Ph.D.s in atmospheric, environmental, or other earth sciences. Another 5,691 in physics, and 903 in math or computer science (computerized mathematical modelling is the basis for climate model predictions).
Furthermore, more than 200 of those are past or present IPCC authors or expert reviewers, which means they're some of the "2500 scientists" that the IPCC likes to quote as supporting their conclusions (which of course is an outright fraud. By and large, most IPCC authors support the conclusions, but expert reviewers are an entirely different story).
@ttowntom Okay, bringing up the Oregon Petiotion involving 31,000 "scientist" shows me clearly that you're a moron and know nothing about science. And greenman did debunk it. It's a joke and you're an ignoranus.
@TheBlackahole thankyou for replying before I got to it, ttown seems to purposefully bring up the same old over and over again... I guess some people never learn.
Greenman is taking his posting strategy straight from Joseph Goebbel's playbook. He knows as well as I do that NASA researchers have detected global warming on several other bodies in the solar system, but he believes that a lie, repeated often enough, will be accepted as truth.
Sorry Green. People are a bit more educated today than they were in 1940.
I'm glad to see you've finally stopped claiming the facts about global warming on Mars, Jupiter, and several other bodies in the solar system were 'made up'. Yet another inconvenient fact, eh?
Don't worry...your religious converts won't care that you've been lying. It's all in a good cause, right?
@ttowntom Hey, is it you Alex Jones? Or you wouldn't happen to be from Texas by any chance? [global hurricane activity continues to decrease, World agricultural output continues to increase year after year, contradicting claims of decreased food production, Antarctica is cooling, no statistically significant global warming since 1995] WE WOULD ALL LIKE TO SEE THOSE SOURCES THAT BACK UP YOUR CLAIMS PLEASE. How much are you getting paid for each post here btw?
COAPS Hurricane Research Center, Un. of Florida: "“Current Year-to-Date analysis of Northern Hemisphere and Global Tropical Cyclone Accumulated Cyclone Energy (ACE) has fallen even further than during the previous 3-years,” reports COAPS hurricane scientist Ryan Maue.” The global activity is at 33-year lows and at a historical record low [in] the Pacific”"
@ttowntom USA has all the best equipment and irrigation and fertilizer and soil management and... etc. To claim that because the USA grows more corn is proof that the earth is not warming is sheer ignorance. In a greenhouse, I am able to grow over 1000 bu/ac. What does that prove? Having actually been a farmer and having actually been to different parts of the world, I can assure you that you are an idiot for even insinuating what you are insinuating.
When you are googling, global warming in the solar system.......you can find all arguments for and against. I think the conclusion is that there are some global warming going on on some planets, and Moons, but no body know exactly how and whys.
@greenman3610 And so is alot of Univeraties that is not connected to state. Nasa is great, but they have shown that everything they show, is no completely the truth and surtenly not the complete truth. Peace
u seem so eager to pay some 20 odd extra taxes like beef tax, carbon tax may be a breathing tax that will be levied by the governments across the globe especially in west.rich man you must be!!
@doi9r : Did you know that a super-low tax place like Switzerland has a carbon cap and that it did not increase taxation?
The biggest increase in cost I have seen is precisely in the US where the lack of strict efficiency standard (for ex. on cars) left them with gaz guzzlers which they cannot afford to operate (compared to my 60MPG TDI sedan).
You must really love the new proposal of the Cry Wolf initiative, namely locating pockets of 'Conservative dissent' and integrating the naysaying of it in public education.
I guess some censorship is good...so long as its the wrong thinking people that are silenced, hmm?
Al Gore brings emotional fervor to his carbon crusade He travels the country displaying charts&graphs quoting scientific experts& appealing to philosophers&religious leaders to save the planet from global warming But he says nothing about his business partners who yearn to trade on the emerging carbon market And the media pay no attention to the companies offering carbon advisory services that will profit from federal carbon emission controls
More Inconvenient Truth of 'hip' Al Gore: ex-VP buys $9M mansion on SoCal coast
The new Gore compound comes with a swimming pool, spa, fountains, six fireplaces, five bedrooms and nine bathrooms. This recent purchase compounds his ever-growing hypocritical ways at a world-class arrogant rate!
Remember the Gore Mansion in Tennessee? The home that burns 12 times the rate of the ordinary U.S. household, and uses more electricity in one month than most American homes use in a year?
AGW Cult You can always tell its a Cult when the leader does not follow his own teachings they demand people to sacrifice while the leader does not Al Gore's lifestyle is at odds with his teachings, following his teachings makes you poor under his power and makes him rich (carbon credits)
The fact that he feels he needs people to go from school to school convincing children, indicates he realizes the public at large is not buying his story and so he preys on the easily influenced and misled
@Thisawareness What is it with you denialists and your beef with Gore? I could give two shits about him - as far as I'm concerned he made a popular Powerpoint presentation that popularized the evidence for climate change. That's all.
I care about the truth, not the people who present it. If you have good reasons to deny scientific evidence, I'd like to hear it. Otherwise fuck off.
(And while we're at it, do you have any evidence for Gore's hypocrisy either? Not that it matters, just curious.)

The only way to deal with a cult is to isolate the leader from his followers by pointing out the inconsistencies of his lifestyle. You can counter and expose his lies all you want, but until you deal with the leader in the follower's eyes, the follower will believe anything the leader says, even 2 + 2 = 5. This is not about logic and reason, this is about faith and belonging to something greater than yourself to achieve a world wide impact.
what is clear is your desperation to believe the Glenn Beck narrative, as opposed to the actual facts, as investigated by leading scientific, political, and journalistic groups.
Every respected scientific group on the planet...except for all those other scientists that dare to tell the truth.
You're marching with James Cameron whose currently doing a war dance in a grass skirt and Bill Maher who thinks the H1N1 vaccine was spiked by the pharmaceutical companies.
The question you should then ask is whose side are Beck, Limbaugh, and Palin on...? Answer, other respected scientists who differ. As in, the science is not settled.
I wonder, did this come out before or after those emails were leaked about how all of those U.N. scientists fed the populace B.S. information about 'climate change'.
It is obvious that POLLUTION is not GOING to SOLVE anything. I'm not saying there is there isn't global warming, but wouldn't you want a clean and nice looking Earth instead of a dirty, smoggy one?
Ever travel into a city like NYC, Chicago, or LA? Smells like SMOKE.
Go into the COUNTRY SIDE, rural areas .. AIR smells clean ...
Nice video! Public ignorance of science is sad. More unfortunate still is the deliberate charlatanism of some people and outfits who preach anti-science for personal gains, like oil corporations and fundamentalist pastopreneurs.
But then how can people trust their sources of information when mainstream media still maintains that the twin towers were brought down by fire in spite of the overwhelming evidence that they were demolished?
In just FIVE YEARS between 2004-2009 thick perennial arctic sea ice DROPPED 42%. This was discovered by NASA satellite measurements. Reported 7/7/09

Global Warming is changing our world NOW. CO2 is 35% above levels for 650,000 years. In just 30 years CO2 will be over 450ppm, enough to acidify oceans to the point of stopping the growth of many planktons and corals. They are at the base of the oceans' food chain.

@twindwick Ironically to that this is also among the primary reasons why "the cost of living" is going up. Bills, and petrol prices are key contributors apart from mortgage. And you are defending the same people that would have you believe that climate change is not real and you go out everyday and pay these people approx on average about 10k a year or MORE (as years go by) for the rest of your life. And then accuse others that are saving money that they are "enslaved". You dumbass.
slavj 1 year ago
@twindwick Then there is the people like you, who have been helplessly deluded by these companies who have a conflict of interest. And you are willing to defend thier argument against climate change believing its a conspiracy... regardless of the fact that EVERY independent scientist FROM ANY COUNTRY (hence why would ur gov only be interested? hmm interesting as its not true) agrees its happening. The only REAL enslavement is you having to pay bills and petrol to those that are the skeptics. lol
slavj 1 year ago
@twindwick And now comes your Rothschild theory. The fossil fuel companies realise that self-generated renewable energy= bad for business, they will lose cash as you can see via what my mate did. No bills, no petrol costs... nadda. So what do these companies do? They invest millions into lobbyists, paying media, and spreading misinformation about climate change to hold up climate bills for better energy and higher housing standards. No bill is passed, the reap the profits
slavj 1 year ago
@slavj And those petrol centered companies can take what they've spent on the 'controlled opposition' lobby as a write off on their taxes.
ISamuelII 7 months ago
@twindwick btw he also has a 400km range electric car... which he recharges via the energy his home produces... so no cost on petrol either and its not even polluting car. Sigh
slavj 1 year ago
@twindwick Not only that prevents pollution but it saved about 3k worth of bills a year... in 4 years he paid the difference it costed to install all that to his home. And now he doesn't pay anything apart from service costs. He has 3 kids and a wife and that's enough for them to get by comfortably. Its funny that all countries that pursue this generally also have higher education, and living standards. But you can live in the "flat earth" world your dreaming up you joke.
slavj 1 year ago
@twindwick Its an irony too that most nations that have adopted climate change tactics are actually saving money where you promote it costs money. Yeah it does at first but the pay off comes 4-5 years down the track. My friend who is also an architect (like myself) pays only $80 in bills a year, and thats just a service charge for being connected to the power grid. Didn't use any electricity or even water the whole year from the city. Had solar panels, well insulated home and a water tank.

@twindwick Plus also the UN was against the invasion of Iraq... it cautioned the US and declared that there were no weopons of mass destruction there. Oh the irony of what you say. Kissing the real butts of the REAL rothschilds of this would without realising it.

@twindwick right so you don't believe the IPCC but have NO PROBLEM believing all the skeptics that are funded by the fossil fuel companies... real wise mate. And then you accuse the public office of fraud and hug the companies you try to fuel the skepticism of climate change.

Ice ages are linked to the Milankovitch cycles (earth cycles) and the last time that peaked was 20,000 years ago and each cycle is about 100,000 to 120,000 years apart... that means it will be at least 80k years till we see an ice age... you ignoramus

@twindwick 5) Do you have ANY idea how the magnetic pulls of the Earth work?? It should take longer for world to heat up, but we are accelerating that process significantly to lets say... instead of 1000 years to 200 years? Cont...

@twindwick 4) "So you believe cars are responsible for all of this??"
So you believe cars are solely responsible for this? Such a dumb statement that its actually horrifying. You can be happy and live with the narrow minded view which you have.
slavj 1 year ago
@twindwick 3) The spike in global cooling is due to the fact there was a El Nina this year, the fact that the last decade has been the 8 most hottest records in the world has nothing to do with it? Get an education
slavj 1 year ago
@twindwick 1) again you are comparing this to someone not remotely related and calling it the same thing, a fallacy in argument. If I were to do the same I could simply say your are not adjusted to change, similar how creationists would never accept evolution. Morpheus said in the Matrix: "many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it." even if its more harmful to the world.
See whats wrong with this? Its not related... stick to the point.
slavj 1 year ago
@twindwick To help out your significantly inhibited mind, look up "latitude" in wikipedia, you should be presented with a "Annual Mean Temperature" map, showing all the latitude. I am assuming you are from the US, so to you the weather may seem typical, cloud= cold, etc etc. But to the MAJORITY OF THE REST OF THE WORLD that isn't the case as you may see all the centre latitudes with cover a enormously huge percentage of the planet can testify that your cloud bullshit means nothing there.
slavj 1 year ago
@twindwick 1) Seem to know jack shit about climate. I am sorry, but that's all I got from you in the post by trying to relate me to someone who deceives the public is a argumental falacy and just shows how little understanding you have.
2) We have BILLIONS of dollars of equipement in orbit, which include measuring the suns cosmic rays. So you are saying that all the billions already spent are just lying when they say the sun isn't heating up significant to affect any planet? Or are u just dumb
slavj 1 year ago
@twindwick What your talking about is "local" data and using simple example...
"Cloud = rain... Cloud mean cold, I can't understand the dynamics of climate... "
Anyway how do I know about the petty cloud argument being true? Simple I am part of a mountaineering club and i go on regular hikes and camps throughout the country. And understanding the weather and the climate is PIVITAL to me. SO by predicting how hot it will be in the morning by judging the clouds in the air is a useful indicator.
slavj 1 year ago
@twindwick Sunny Day = Accumulation of heat.. YES... BUT when Mars orbits and is facing AWAY from the sun and if the clouds are still there, the heat that was accumilated can NOT escape the atmosphere thus causing the planet to heat up.
Try an experiment to test this. On a sunny day with no clouds, its hot, yes? Now that night has no clouds too... it gets a lot cooler. Now the SAME experiment, but at night there are clouds... does the heat escape? No... and its warmer than without clouds.
slavj 1 year ago
@twindwick lol obviously you have NEVER lived in the tropics, as I have... I can tell you the monsoon season is a lot worse than summer, and the clouds do nothing to make it a "cold" day. Your perspective on how climate works is so simple and childish. In the monsoon season temperatures remain the same (sometimes even more) despite the area being covered in clouds.
slavj 1 year ago
@twindwick
right.
and what about magic fairy dust? and the lizard people?
PROVE they have no effect, smarty pants!
greenman3610 1 year ago
@twindwick er the reason why Mars is heating up IS the dust clouds that trap heat on the planet without it being able to escape. As a good example... look at Venus, the clouds that cover it only intensify its temperatures. Also since a lot of this dust is dark it absorbs heat ALOT more easily than if it was white (which would simply reflect the heat).
Some deniers make me laugh. :P
slavj 1 year ago
@twindwick
I'm sorry, we don't know that at all.
Deniers continually question our ability to measure warming on this planet, yet display metaphysical certainty that they know what is happening on other planets.
We have much more accurate measure of solar activity from satellites, we do not need to guess what is happening on other planets as a solar proxy.

I'd be embarrassed if I was on the same side of any fence with Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, or Sara Palin, so I understand you're upset. But hey, you hang out with coconuts, you get coconut friends.

greenman3610 1 year ago
@greenman3610 So, once again, all you reply with is guilt by association? That's not an argument.
And this video didn't contain facts, as I stated you try to generalize EVERYONE who disagrees with you based on two single links. I've shown that there are more that disagree with you. That proves your entire video is built on a false premise.
Now, do you have an actual reply to this, or will you just compare me to someone you don't like for lack of anything to say?

Descent is there, there are articles that point out the climate change on other planets is unusual. This utterly destroys your paltry two solitary links.
Do you get that? Is this getting through to you, or are you so used to dismissing, stereotyping, and generalizing that you can't understand that you're wrong

Magikpotion 1 year ago
@Magik,
One can also check my references for what's happening here in the real world, rather than model predictions of the misty future, predictions made by people whose ever past prediction has failed to come true.
Real world facts like: hurricane activity is decreasing, and is currently at record lows. Or facts like Southern sea ice has been increasing as long as we've had satellite records. Or that the latest research has consistently failed to detect ANY accelerated sea level rise.
ttowntom 1 year ago
Or facts like global agriculture food production continues to increase each and every year, despite predictions that climate change will decrease yields. Or facts like the planet has seen no statistically significant increase in temperature for the last 15 years, despite models that predicted we should have seen the fastest rise in history. Even polar bear populations are on the rise, to the point that several nations now allow the purchase of hunting permits again.
ttowntom 1 year ago
How about facts like it isn't just the Earth and Mars that saw warming over the last century, but also Jupiter, Neptune's moon Triton, and likely several other bodies in the solar system. nasa key indicators climate
greenman3610 1 year ago
When Greenman says 'NASA', he really means GISS ... a small office at the liberal Columbia University, which is affiliated with NASA. All the sky-is-falling climate pronouncements come from GISS.
GISS was founded and is headed by James Hansen, who in 1988 predicted that GW would cause NYC to be flooded by the year 2000, with winds high enough to break windows and widespread shortages of fresh water. How's that for credibility? Impressive, eh?
ttowntom 1 year ago
Unlike Hansen's crystal-ball predictions which are based only on his computer models, the evidence of global warming on Mars, Jupiter, Saturn's moons, and Pluto come from real-world data. Collected by NASA's Hubble Telescope, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and many other sources.
Trying to claim this isn't happening is futile. Even the most zealous of AGW alarmists isn't trying to deny it. They simply claim its all a coincidence, and that the warming on other planets has other causes.

@greenman3610
I realize not everyone has time to actually read the article (see video)-
that's why I'm here.
greenman3610 1 year ago
In 2003, researchers said the warming on Mars was seasonal only. In 2007, when warming was found to have continued for 20 years, researchers said it was due to "dust storms changing the planet's albedo" (study published in Nature, by L. Fenton, et al).
As to why Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, and Neptune's moon Triton are also warming, the basic explanation is it's all just a 'coincidence'.
The simplest explanation- that solar variance plays a larger role than from we first thought, is rejected.
ttowntom 1 year ago
@ttowntom
So, you really didn't watch the vid, did you?
Fenton et al's title says it all "Global warming and climate forcing by recent albedo changes on Mars".
They're saying that dust storms change albedo/reflectivity on the surface, and may affect temperature.
quote:
"documented albedo changes affect recent climate change and large-scale weather patterns on Mars, and thus albedo variations are a necessary component of future atmospheric and climate studies."
tip: reading the source helps
greenman3610 1 year ago
@greenman,
Is English not your native language? Yes, they claim the global warming on Mars is due to "dust storms". They also claim the global warming on Jupiter, Saturn, Triton, and Pluto are due to other causes. That's exactly what I said initially.
(cont).
ttowntom 1 year ago
In other words, they think the warming of at least six different bodies (counting the Earth) in the solar system are due to six entirely different reasons, all of which are just coincidentally happening simultaneously.
They reject the simple explanation, that they just don't understand solar variance well enough to explain how one single source is driving all six changes.
ttowntom 1 year ago
@ttowntom
those crazy scientists!
you should really set them straight, dude. It's all so simple, why, who needs all that complicated "study", "learning", and "facts"...much easier to just feel it in your gut.
oh, and you'll have to explain Uranus' cooling when you publish your paper.
greenman3610 1 year ago
@greenman,
Nice obfuscation attempt, but there is no hard data to indicate Uranus is cooling. There's just one paper that suggests it *might*.
We know for a fact that many other bodies in the solar system are warming..the data on Pluto is a bit dicey, but Mars, Jupiter, and Triton are all experiencing significant global warming at present.
Must be all those alien SUVs, eh?

@ttowntom I see what you are trying to do, seeing you put so much effort in it is just laughable, have fun filthy troll.
Magikpotion 1 year ago
@ttowntom So what are you trying to tell us you o-so accurate-mister towntom anti AGW scientist? What is the point of this you're trying to accomplish here? You have convinced me. I'm with you man! All that scientists invovled in a conspiracy are telling us right now is BS and you're dead on man! Obviously you've got no idea how science works, no idea AT ALL. Those 10 years old "stories" convinced me that GW is all SUNS fault. Your so called facts are just childishly weak you moron.
TheBlackahole 1 year ago
@TheBlack,
You're right, the 31,000 scientists who all believe AGW is total nonsense are all involved in a massive conspiracy, aren't they? They're really all funded by the evil oil industry right? And the tens of billions of dollars given out by governments and environmental groups to fund AGW researchers doesn't influence anyone, yes?
Pass the pipe, I want some of whatever you're smoking.
ttowntom 1 year ago
@ttowntom why do you keep on mentioning things that greenman already debunked? 30k "scientists"... You are just trying to reach the lazy with your mind numbing efforts!
Magikpotion 1 year ago
@Magik,
I'm glad you asked. The answer is because he didn't "debunk" them. The Oregon Petition is real, and has been signed by over 31,000 scientists.
Of that total, 3,697 have Ph.D.s in atmospheric, environmental, or other earth sciences. Another 5,691 in physics, and 903 in math or computer science (computerized mathematical modelling is the basis for climate model predictions).
ttowntom 1 year ago
Furthermore, more than 200 of those are past or present IPCC authors or expert reviewers, which means they're some of the "2500 scientists" that the IPCC likes to quote as supporting their conclusions (which of course is an outright fraud. By and large, most IPCC authors support the conclusions, but expert reviewers are an entirely different story).
ttowntom 1 year ago
@ttowntom Okay, bringing up the Oregon Petiotion involving 31,000 "scientist" shows me clearly that you're a moron and know nothing about science. And greenman did debunk it. It's a joke and you're an ignoranus.
TheBlackahole 1 year ago
@TheBlackahole thankyou for replying before I got to it, ttown seems to purposefully bring up the same old over and over again... I guess some people never learn.
Magikpotion 1 year ago
@TheBlackhole,
Is someone paying you to make AGW fanatics look like blithering idiots? If so tell them you deserve a raise. Great job you're doing!
Now explain how the Oregon Petition is "debunked". You don't get to ignore inconvenient facts by simply pretending they don't exist.
ttowntom 1 year ago

AGW Cult PT2
The only way to deal with a cult is to isolate the leader from his followers by pointing out the inconsistencies of his lifestyle. You can counter and expose his lies all you want, but until you deal with the leader in the follower's eyes, the follower will believe anything the leader says, even 2 + 2 = 5. This is not about logic and reason, this is about faith and belonging to something greater than yourself to achieve a world wide impact.
