Nobody is forcing the government to borrowing money. They are borrowing to create the illusion of prosperity, so they can stay in power. It doesn’t matter which currency a country uses. Printing your own money is useless if you don’t have any goods or services to sell.

napisao si glup komentar kao marceza, a sada i kao stepkoki. Nemaš pojma o bankama i tko vodi glavnu riječ, zato piši svoje glupe komentare dalje.
Note: just ignore troll stepkoki/marceza, he doesn't have any idea who are money changers, and what they do. He's blinded by EU lies. Most Croatians don't want EU even if we are bombarded by their propaganda.
You say the Euro is gaining popularity in North Korea, Cuba and Syria? There are very few central national banks left in the world which aren't now privately owned and manipulating their government into chaos via unnecessary borrowing, IMF 'bailouts' (similar to what the American Bankers Association were doing in the 1890s but on a larger scale), aren't those 3 countries, some of the countries where the central banks aren't privately owned?
Croatians have to choose from lesser evil. EU idiots or even bigger corrupted homegrown idiots. In EU there is at least some restriction on debt to GDP and EU fund money flow is more difficult to steal. Or they can discover natural gas and keep away from EU like Norway. EU is not only about Euro it is about guarantees of rule of law. If your democracy is higher quality than in EU then don't join. The same goes for standard of living. Can you make it on your own?
@bstill3 Croatia and other countries devastated by years of socialist/communist totalitarianism need closer ties with EU countries. Being a member gives you advantage - investors and partners are assured that Rule of law works there and if not they can go to EU court. I say join EU and steer it towards sound money and less government. In the meantime EU at least imposes additional checks on local politicians. EU=more competition-political and economical. You don't have gas, oil, banks to go solo.
@MrDanielBowman74 You got it wrong. EU is not lesser evil. Bigger government, bigger corruption. We can make it on our own, thanks for asking, and don't be concerned for us, better take care for your country.
I was writting as marceza, ...now i will continue...Do you know..that Croatian central bank HNB doesn have a single gram of gold reserves... so, if gold is money , I have more money than Croatian Central Bank. Do you know that if you want to buy in eu gold or silver bullion you have to pay 58 % tax if you import to Croatia personally or you do business with it. In eu there is no tax on gold.
If you consider business ,It is much easier for Croatia to be in EU . No passports...
It is always funny when I listen foreigner speaking about other countries. Facts are this: Cro Prime minister is in jail...oops...Minister of economy was in jail...now is temporarily released. Croatian Gouvernment is mafia, although when you see them ..they are smiling and speak sweet words. They are stealing money from tax payers in every department. At least in EU ,you can not do this or one will be punished. Croatian currency Kuna is attached to euro and if euro crashes, Kuna will also...
@Marceza -- so let me get this straight, your young men gave their lives for the Mafia? Sounds like you need to continue your revolution until freedom motivates your leaders.
@bstill3 It's exactly like you said... Many Croatian men gave lives for sovereignty and all we got was a mafia country. In fact, war was just a cover for a mass-scale looting of its citizens and there are many facts pointing to a possibility that war was "a deal" made between high politicians of the region. Now, they want to surrender us to the EU to cover up all the mess that has been happening for past 15 years.
The tragedy is that every young citizen will say yes to EU as a lesser evil.
@bstill3 ..no bill , you didn`t understand. Better try to solve problems in your own courtyard, and in yourself. That`s only part of the world you can change. Then , external change will happen.
@bstill3. I'm from Croatia and I am totally agreeing with your thoughts. You see, problem is actually in people. We are like white sheep's. We follow those we put in charge. Problem is that people are sadistic here and are willing to take the hits. We, small people cannot act when we want and instead, we are in their hands and they are telling us when to do something or not. It's quite frustrating here and no matter that we all know it, 99% chances are that we will go to EU. We are idiots!
The vote for the EU will probably be a fraud. Recently we counted our population and Croatia officially has appx 4.2 million people. Interesting thing is that the very same Croatia has 4.5 million registered voters. Thank you Bill for this report.
@vlaperic Well im Croatian hold a Domovnica, own a house in Zagreb and Gradac and im registered to vote, but I live in new York and i am a American citizen as well, and so are many more of our people, so those numbers will always be off
Also not mention here is WHY all domestic bank were sold to foreign banks. in the 90`s they were looted by corrupt politicians and businessmen THREE TIMES and all damage was payed by the taxpayers. It was a necessity so Croatia could have any kind of funcitional banking system.
The CEO of single left croatian bank - croatian postal bank mentionet here, is in prison last two years for embezzlement and abuse of position and authority. He did absolutley the same as CEOs before him in the 90˙s.
@hgrgic -- You are an EU apologist. Every revolution starts out with minimal rule of law. Then as effective government takes hold, the rule of law is re-established. It appears that this is what has happened. So what if crooked bankers are in jail? That's good. The system is working better than here in the U.S.
@bstill3 That`s good, yes, but its not good when in the period of 20 years you cant find a bank which is not corrupt. Our former prime minister is in jail right now because of state-sponsored money laundering in one Austrian bank. When that bank became German after Due Dilligence Angela Merkel (allegedly) personally called him and told him to get lost ASAP. Evidence material was brought up to court in the trucks.
You just cant trust croatian state or banks with ditributing a currency.
@hgrgic -- Who said anything about "distributing"? If you live in Croatia, would you trust yourself, then? If not, then who? If no one, then you consign yourself and your nation to anarchy and guess who will fill that vacuum? Exactly who is filling it today. Is that what you want for you and your children -- a plutocratic pretend self-governance?
Croatia does not have its money. Kuna is tied to the Euro from the start, because every kuna in circulation is issued based on FOREIGN DEBT with central bank storing euros to back up the value. There is no gold stock of any kind in central bank.
So, the current situation in Croatia is actually much worse than having euros. This fact pretty much destroys every other suggestion here regarding EU entry.
@hgrgic -- Croatia does have its sovereign money still, the Kuna. Being tied to the Euro is WAY different from having only the Euro to use as money. All Croatia needs to do is to cut the tie to the Euro.
This, and pardon my French, is load of crap; 80% of Croatian business is in euro and we are already tied with euro. National debt of ~60% GDB for a small country like Croatia is normal and minor with healthy economy and production, BUT Croatia don't have that cause that is ruined with crappy government management. .. So only choice is EU and slavery to foreign investments for economy development OR bankruptcy without the EU.
@XmeshinX -- No nation that retains its sovereign money can ever be bankrupt. It can lower the value of the money relative to other currencies or commodities, by printing too much.
If Croatia joins into EU - that will be a modern slavery, a lot of unemployed Croats will be a bunch of slaves - they will work only for bananas - no thanks, NO TO EU - We need interdependent Croatia without NWO agendas and Croatia without SLAVERY and WITHOUT ROBBERY (organized by mafias from our government)
@clansman89 they are on the street, mostly people are starving - without food for days, even some of them I see on streets which are begging for money - believe me - it's so sad that I cry many times.
9:59 what? Gift of GOD? Are you seriouse? Don't get me wrong Bill and I still like your videos and your hughe knowledge which you're trying to share with us - but as an atheist I'm not sure if something like "God" would give such thing "money" as a gift. Money no matter which type of it is stil a bad thing and it is ruining peoples mind - so that would be realy sad and frustrating if "God" would even try to give something bad like that as a gift. Still watching :)
Get real. There's nothing wrong with Money. It's just a tool to help you and I trade our stuff.
The only reason we're having the problems we're having today is because we've surrendered control of what classifies as money to a group of unaccountable, secretive oligarchs. It'd be the same if we gave them total control of fresh water or land allocation instead. Would you then blame fresh water for being inherently bad? Or the planet we live on?
In theory you (or we) and I don't need "money"! If you have something that I need and I have something that you might need than we can change or trade with the things - this way was once the "normal" way of trading. The most problem of this kind of trade was that things (like meat, eggs etc.) have expire time, you can't keep meat for years (in those days). So the goldsmiths invented coins and from those days the misery in human history started. Pls read more history books! :)
@chlifa I think youve got to read more history books. All nations that have ever existed invented money. It makes trade much easier than barter, and allows capital to accumulate easier, plus allowing employment. Only small self contained communities can exist without money but they need all their resources right there and if theyre missing anything(like fish) it becomes hard to find resources from which to barter.
Any society thats tried to get rid of money has ended in disaster. Get real dude!
Goldsmith's didn't invent squat. When someone takes their goods to the market, they intend to trade it for what they need. That doesn't always happen, so they settle for the next best thing : something that will be easier to trade later on. Historically, this has most often been gold, but it's also been rice, salt, shells, etc.
If anything goldsmiths were our first moneychangers, but they arrived after the fact.
@LordDyhalto "Goldsmith's didn't invent squat" I dont think thats quite true. As i understand it, they were the first to operate on a fractional reserve basis by issuing more 'gold notes' than they had gold on deposit. Once they realised that folks rarely came in for their gold.
@LordDyhalto the problem isn't money, it's how money is created. If it was created by the government and given to the people debt free, then it would serve its purpose, as a tool to help you and I trade our stuff. Additiaonally, eliminate fractional reserve lending, and problem solved ('cept the banks wouldn't profit anywhere near as much as they do now).
I can't imagine what the plutocrats have in store for the world. I wish more people would pay attention. We can't let their mission of conquest come to fruition!
the de-consolidation of power will be the end of the the US's reserve currency status.
then the euro will have low long term interest rates. the bank of england printed 200 billion pounds sterling and just handed it over to the bankrupt UK commercial banks. the US fed handed over nearly 1 trillion US dollars to the BoE. Farage is similar to george sorros, a strawman for the super rich banking elite. we will get rid of you euro but only after the $US is no longer the world's reserve currency.
I live in Iceland and I can tell you exactly that Icelanders think about joining the EU. Unfortunately, I don't think said comments would meet YouTube's community guidelines :P
That was BRILLIANT Bill! If Ron Paul gets elected, I hope he would nominate you as his U.S. Treasury Head. Tim Geithner, Ben Bernanke, and the rest of the money changers are willfully and wantonly negligent ;)
Great video. Hopefully world leaders will realize that losing their sovereign currency is a bad deal for their nations and people. Have you ever met Nigel Farage in person? It seems that both of you agree that the adoption of the euro has been extremely detrimental to economic stability in Europe for all the EU member nations.
Yo Bill, a bit off topic but do you think the banking interests are so blinded by greed that they forget or can't discern the impact their profit-strategy has on the overall economy, or do you think they DO understand the repercussions, but charge ahead anyways rationalizing it as just 'good business' (for them)?
Is it their intention to steer towards a serfdom scenario, or are they just trying to profit, and serfdom is the logical yet unintentional consequence of their profit-strategy?
@zedsdeadz -- It's probably a little bit of both, with a more intentional steering towards general serfdom more prevalent in the mindset the higher up the banking food chair one travels.
And we’re at 92% GDP-to-debt ratio. Who’s the idiot out there who still thinks we own our own currency—that it’s just the US Treasury creating it, that each dollar doesn’t mean a “loan” from the taxpayers to the Federal Reserve? Where’s that idiot who argued w/ me a couple weeks ago? That bank apologist who wanted to install a global warming tax just so he could trade carbon shares? We have LESS national sovereignty now than we did with redcoat standing armies in colonial days.
It's interesting that one of the first things that happened after the fall of Tripoli is that the Rebels set up a new bank with the help of the World Bankers.
Bill you say that paying off the government debt is imposible but this is not true. a country can pay down its debt and boom Australia did it just the past decade. national debt was brought down ZERO and the economy raged on. a country can pay off its debt its the private sector that can never ever pay off its debt as a whole it must forever expand then if not a reccession occurs. but governments can and must pay down debt. even the US.
@RPJunky -- Well, Australia is a different case because it had the Commonwealth Bank (if memory serves) until just a few decades ago, which operated in the public interest. Australia today has a very low debt-to-GDP ratio. The US paid down its debt on a few occasions, but that was before our debt status got so extreme. Paying down the National Debt has a similar effect to raising interest rates -- it sucks money OUT of the economy.
Great video Bill! Obviously the content of the video is outstanding, but I also like your new high definition camera and your use of deep focus (both the lake and your face are in focus).
My country (Sweden) is in the EU but still has the Krona (we're outside the EMU)... I bet our people will never support the Euro, in fact just about anyone here is negative towards EU itself! :)
I agree the eu is a bad idea but how do you know that Croatia currency is truly sovereign presently. Are you sure that they don't do what they do in the US and have a central bank print money and charge them for it
I love your video's Mr Still, just wish some one in Government would watch them :) hey if Ron Paul wins hope he makes you head of the treasury. We could turn things around quick then :)
I usually agree with your vids but joining the EU categorically is not the same as adopting the Euro. Over a third of the countries in the EU do not use the Euro.
Iceland would be insane to join the EU and give up its huge fishing rights and would not be welcome in the Euro after their recent defaults caused by carry trading which they have again started .
Nigel Farage is the only honorable person in that entire European Parliament. Incidentally, pan over to seat number 666 in the babylonian styled building. Who is that seat reserved for?
Europeans sure have a short memory when it comes to the actions of the Germans. The banking cartels in Germany along with the industrial consortiums are responsible for two world wars. I love it- European Central Bank based in Frankfurt, Germany. The Europeans have got to be the most gullible people on earth.

chlifa 5 months ago
@chlifa I think youve got to read more history books. All nations that have ever existed invented money. It makes trade much easier than barter, and allows capital to accumulate easier, plus allowing employment. Only small self contained communities can exist without money but they need all their resources right there and if theyre missing anything(like fish) it becomes hard to find resources from which to barter.
Any society thats tried to get rid of money has ended in disaster. Get real dude!

trading..... who would make the prices? i mean, would a pair of shoes cost 10 eggs or 100?
lagercrew 5 months ago
@chlifa
I do read history books, mate! :O
LordDyhalto 5 months ago
@LordDyhalto "Goldsmith's didn't invent squat" I dont think thats quite true. As i understand it, they were the first to operate on a fractional reserve basis by issuing more 'gold notes' than they had gold on deposit. Once they realised that folks rarely came in for their gold.
Im not 100% on this though.
mrblack61 5 months ago
@LordDyhalto the problem isn't money, it's how money is created. If it was created by the government and given to the people debt free, then it would serve its purpose, as a tool to help you and I trade our stuff. Additiaonally, eliminate fractional reserve lending, and problem solved ('cept the banks wouldn't profit anywhere near as much as they do now).

the de-consolidation of power will be the end of the the US's reserve currency status.
then the euro will have low long term interest rates. the bank of england printed 200 billion pounds sterling and just handed it over to the bankrupt UK commercial banks. the US fed handed over nearly 1 trillion US dollars to the BoE. Farage is similar to george sorros, a strawman for the super rich banking elite. we will get rid of you euro but only after the $US is no longer the world's reserve currency.

Valdris1987 5 months ago

Is it their intention to steer towards a serfdom scenario, or are they just trying to profit, and serfdom is the logical yet unintentional consequence of their profit-strategy?
zedsdeadz 5 months ago
@zedsdeadz -- It's probably a little bit of both, with a more intentional steering towards general serfdom more prevalent in the mindset the higher up the banking food chair one travels.

Lets stop being polite,
Lets stop being politically correct.

RPJunky 5 months ago
@RPJunky -- Well, Australia is a different case because it had the Commonwealth Bank (if memory serves) until just a few decades ago, which operated in the public interest. Australia today has a very low debt-to-GDP ratio. The US paid down its debt on a few occasions, but that was before our debt status got so extreme. Paying down the National Debt has a similar effect to raising interest rates -- it sucks money OUT of the economy.
