@Adnoydall Eruption is thought of as highly as it is because of the skillset involved within it. The unusual style in which eddie picks notes and fantastic tapping outro. The world hadn't seen such virtuostic guitar playing since the likes of hendrix in the 60's and Page in the early 70's and now people were seeing that the book hadnt been written and there was a fuck load more pages to be left. It had been at least 10 years since Eddie had played a HIGH QUALITY version of his vintage solo. He is basically treating his solo spot like it's a song. I wish he more just did different new things, but the fans want to see this. @Adnoydall Eruption is thought of as highly as it is because of the skillset involved within it. The unusual style in which eddie picks notes and fantastic tapping outro. The world hadn't seen such virtuostic guitar playing since the likes of hendrix in the 60's and Page in the early 70's and now people were seeing that the book hadnt been written and there was a fuck load more pages to be left. Thats why. Yes it probably was Eddie just playing in a room but I dare you to do better. Peace :)

Ed's "fans" do have to somehow understand that they can't insult and kill those who voted for Obama instead of McCain, or vice versa, or drive within the speed limit. youtube says no asinine vulgar talk or death threats, act like normal people do and the law demands. All of the people talking about how Eddie is just playing the same solo need to understand something: This was basically a reunion tour where they played all of the classics. It had been at least 10 years since Eddie had played a HIGH QUALITY version of his vintage solo. He is basically treating his solo spot like it's a song. I'm sure if there is a new VH album, there will be all new solos and riffs. How come nobody ever asks Clapton or Page to "reinvent" themselves?

Led Zep added video imagery to "Song Remains..." and many of those old MTV videos had nothing to do with the songs' lyrics.
So whats Eruption do for you, is what I'm curious about. If you see unicorns and leprechauns, fine, but "pissing in fags mouths and killing niggers for Ed" is a bit of a stretch...

I have the same complaint. Mindless shred/guitar wank for the sake of screech and reverb has run its course, for the most part. Meandering hookless threadless diddling fiddling and faddling is plain tedious.
