Now that is only double the 12 million USSR troop casualties. How can you possibly say Nazis killed 5 times more civilians than they did troops??

Even on these figures alone that is 3 times as many civilians killed than troops.

Yes the Russians stopped Nazis occupying Eastern Europe it is true.
But Hitler had no designs whatsoever on Western Europe any historian will tell you that.
Communism is by definition an expansionist ideology, without the Nazis fighting them alone they would have over run the whole of Europe, this is clear for anyone to see. Given the fact Stalin killed 50 million of his own people, if he had taken the rest of Europe another 100 milllion + would have perished.

France declared war on Germany because of the Nazi invasion of its ally Poland - and even that took more than two days.
Hitler did not allow the British to escape - he failed to trap them.
Hitler made no offer to completely withdraw from any part of occupied Europe.
Britain did not kill more civilians than troops although Nazi Germany killed around five times more civilians than troops.

@TheTruthMerchant The security guarantee given to Poland by the UK and France only applied in the case of an invasion by Germany. It did not apply to the USSR which was the ally then of Nazi Germany. Hitler invaded Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg. He also invaded Yugoslavia and Greece which if not in the west is certainly not in the east either. (Look at a map if you do not know where they are.)

Did you read my last post? Hitler only invaded westward after UK and France declared war. Why would he not invade these countries as they were of strategic importance in defeating the war mongering nations.
Italy invaded Greece, Germany only went to their ally's aid when Mussolini mucked up. Yugoslavia was an ally of Germany, until a British supported coup d'etat forced Regent Prince Paul from power. Again of course Hitler would intervene when Britain the war mongering did this.

As for your numbers well lets take this very simply.
Estimate of total casualties in World War 2 = 60 million (all countries, civilians and military)
Amount of Soviet Troop deaths alone about 12 million. Leaves 48 million others. Half of these were Japanese and Chinese, Nazis did not invade China or Japan right???. Leaves 24 million.
Now that is only double the 12 million USSR troop casualties. How can you possibly say Nazis killed 5 times more civilians than they did troops??

British troop casualties in WW2 were around 350,000. Lets be generous and say Brits managed a one to on kill ratio so Brits managed to kill 350,000 enemy troops.
1,000,000 civilians were killed in British terror bombing raids on Germany.
Even on these figures alone that is 3 times as many civilians killed than troops.
Please stop throwing nonsense statements around with no truth or foundation.

Soviet combat deaths were as a percentage of the overall death rate higher than the combat deaths in Poland, Yugoslavia or Greece for example but far more civilians died than were KIA. Furthermore millions of Soviet soldiers died after being taken prisoner due to starvation, being shot, mistreated etc.

@alanheath It is likely true that more civilians died than soldiers (last I checked, 33-34 million civilians were killed in the war vs 27 million soldiers), but I think most of the civilians probably died in prison camps or Stalin's purges, if not the holocaust itself, rather than from combat. Nonetheless, Hitler's armies killed the large majority of these people.

@alanheath Britain killed less civilians than Germany because the german peolpe had (in most cases) the possibility to evacuate their cities. But as I imagine you already know, the most destructive mass in Europe were the allies, they bombed most of the cities all arround the continent. And I could give you several examples of cities but that would be too long. Germany concetrated their "blitz" on England and Poland. They did not bomb almost any french city, as the allies did.
