  • The internet fucked up her thinking.

  • i think its because she might have a mating problem

  • I've seen this before on television also. On the show they said the reason the lion adopted the antelope was because she was excluded/ostracized from her pride. I'm not sure really, but I think this story is so fascinating.

  • This is a shortened brief version of an actual show that featured this on Animal Planet. I recall when the antelope was killed the Lioness cried like it would if it had lost a cub. They said she cared for these antelope cause she had a traumatic experience with her own cubs death.

  • She just wanted a pet

  • She grabs its leg like 'hahahahaha..no'

  • Mother Lioness of Calcutta.

  • antelope:mom what are you cooking lion:young man don t be picky

  • subhanallah..

  • Here, Kitty Kitty..Kitty Kitty

  • Maybe the lion likes to wait until they've gained more weight before eating them?....

  • @J109uk Except the antelope didn't have access to milk... and would be starving to death.

  • No the lion did not eat it the antelope was out of his sight for seconds and a larger Lion came out of the bushes and ate the antelope. These lion however adopted 8 different entolope but non of the 8 lasted as long as the first one.

Nat Geo showed this on a show called 'Bizarre animal friends'

  • I am not sure the lion did adopt this antelope, suspect she just decided to eat it later when she is hungry... I would love this to be an adoption, but lions are lions, and nature is the nature!

  • @nyanaify not always. We are consciousness and we are limited somewhat to the decision space that is allowed in what ever species body we inhabit. This lioness wasn't sick or deluded in some way, she was probably just slightly more consciously evolved than most other lions. She probably struggled somewhat with the notion of survival and altruism but of course being a lion she could not express much outside of futile attempts at parenting. Look up the work of Tom Campbell, he explains this.

  • I like how the reporter said "the lioness is breaking the rules of nature" (something like that) DUN,DUN,DUNN JAIL TIME!

  • QUIT PLAYING WITH YOUR FOOD!

  • awww thats sad

  • It's kind of sad if you think about it. Here is this lion that appears intimidating to what would be, obviously, her prey, but all she wants is to adopt it and raise it as her own but the prey tries desperately to escape her or it perishes eventually. It's just my perception on this topic though.

  • she probably lost her baby and trying to find a replacement

  • WTF stand for Wierd, True, and Freaky.

  • @deandogg1 no i saw rhe resr of rhe show p tv a male liob kills tge antlope

  • i saw this before on tv

  • i need more slow motion to understand this video

  • Just proves that Lions can be crazy too!

  • The first meat farming lion. Kinda scary

  • lion:what?i am a vegeterian...

  • that is sly the lion is beefing it up and gaining its trust then it will just kill

  • You know I can see my cat doing this with a mouse. Not out of love for a baby mouse however, but just to screw with its head.

  • the music at the start sort of sounded like the halloween theme song

  • try a human baby please

  • MOTHER INSTINCT

  • You guys wanna know the real reason this is happening? Back when God created us, animals all got along, and the "Carnivores" were acutally "Herbivores". And if you aren't a Christian and you don't like this answer don't bother fighting me.

  • @HauntingMidnight .rofl grow up moron.god dint create anything and christians are retarded.

  • o.o This is kinda sorta child abuse. The baby seemed really nervous. I wonder so hard why she chooses to do this, and what level of thinking it's on. Like, are her instincts messed up, does she simply feel that the antelope is an appropriate surrogate for a cub, or has she put some logic into this? So many questions, lol X3

  • has she ever had any kittens of her own ?

  • "ohhh look the lion adopts something it would normally eat, it's so nice, people could learn from this" we have, it's called adopting lol

  • what! sad ending!

  • i guess being a hippie is contagious...only tofu for that lioness maaan...like meat is totally murder dude.... XD

  • pedolion

  • that lioness is awesome

  • Is the Lion a vegetarian

  • This is the most false title I've ever came across. "Lion adopts antelope", spare me your bullshit. The LION was PLAYING WITH it's KILL.

  • @GenjiZerk No, it wasnt, i read that after the first antelope was killed she was roaring in anger, also why would she keep the first antelope for 16 days

  • @eagc7 I know nothing about what you have read, therefore I cannot form my opinion on it. I'm going off of what I see right here and now.

  • trying to make it fat and eat it lolxd

  • Lions have learned to farm.

    They've evolved.........

  • someday the antelope will complain saying its a vegeterian

  • im not feeling this human and animal comparison.... humans are inteligent beings that should not need any kind of guidance from an animal on how to behave...

fact: we should be logical enough to understand that a human is a human regardles of his colour or creed.... we should also understand the difference between good and bad, right and wrong

hate usually falls down to uneducation

  • @mbpatelss4

Hate isn't because someone was misinformed or due to a bad education. The individual makes the decision to judge another being based on their own feelings -- you can't really blame it on "well, my mommy said" or "this is what I learned in school". In the end, it's the person's responsibility on how they act on how they feel.

  • because she loves

  • @Shiretb ANIMAL SOULS ARE LIEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

    Liesssssssssssssssssssss.

  • @ColorsOfTheRainbow70 Then human souls are lies too

  • @carllito12

At first, I was like, that's a stupid argument.

Then I realized you were probably right.

  • aww how cute :)

  • its proboly a lionness that lost its own cubs and wanted to mother something

  • I think that antelope is too skinny for lion. She don't want to eat it right now, but to wait for couple of months :)))

  • @socialmarketinguru She's just waitinig til the "little one" puts on some more "meat" !!!

  • the lion adopted the baby since when its older it will be more meaty, animals are smart

  • Its a cat with an antelope fetish

  • mabye its conroled recarnation lol lmao

  • This lion is clearly broken

  • That's absolutely amazing!

  • the lion is a pedo.

  • the lions probably just waiting for it to get fatter to so it could eat it

  • Comment removed

  • tmnt is weirder, and wolves of the beyond is jsut as wird

  • Lion mixed martial arts at 0:54

  • i smell a sitcom.

  • It's like a human raising a Big Mac....

  • she's obv just fattening it up

  • okay....but will it blend ?

  • shes just waiting until he's big enough to eat

  • its a pedo lion.

  • shes just fattening him up to eat uhm later on

  • LOL baby thief scared away original mother KIDNAPPER!

  • "Antelopes are friends, not food"

  • All you people saying shes keeping it so she can eat it later are high. Do you understand how long and time consuming that would be? She could go kill about 10 zebra in the weeks time it takes to keep that baby alive.

  • @willsmackyoudown I watched the whole documentary a few years ago.

I'm all for thinking all animals are capable of amazing things, but..

I think the lioness was disturbed. I don't remember how she came to be alone, but it's natural for her to want companionship/offspring.

There were times in the documentary where she acted as if she wanted to eat the antelope and other times starved herself, not eating at all. I personally think her expressions and body language shown was really strange too.

  • @shinocicada might it be the case of an animal being more intelligent as it is supposed to be and realizing (!!!!??) that killing for food is something bad...? I wonder... Maybe she was just disturbed but if she deliberately starved herself and fought her instincts of eating the antilope, might be something wonderful happening out there too....

  • @lkrnpk I highly, highly doubt 'higher intelligence' is the case here.

It certainly wouldn't show through in this way. A lion, even born smarter than others will never gain MORAL STANDARDS, especially ones as controversial as that. Morals in the true sense of the word are exclusive to humans, while empathy is debatable in certain species.

She didn't fight her instinct so much as appear to forget them, and then remember them at other times. I respect your points but I stand by mine. :3

  • eff you male lion!!

  • "For more WTF Video Check Out: " i interpret it as what the fuck tbh...

  • @Sandsibscrazy No, its not though the baby died it was starving because she had no milk and she was starving because she couldnt hunt

  • Don't you see people, the lion was trieng to domesticate the antilope, Before you know it we'll find monkeys cultivating vegetables

  • aww its so sweet how she protected the antelope :)

  • dumb video the same picture over and over again

  • I love how the mother just ditched her child

  • ...Anyone else seeing a resemblance to Misery?

  • "If a lion adopts an animal, he will eat it within the next couple days"

    "But not this lion"

....It hasn't been a couple days yet.

  • lol wtf what the fuck

  • Lion Adopts Antelope .....then eats it

  • i want to think, oh she is a female, she wants to mother. But at the same time, I think that she is smart and she is looking after it so that when it is grown she can eat it.

  • "5 more times until death, escape or predators separated them" doesn't seem like the best mother does she..?

  • are you kidding. the antelope's probably like O ^ O gasp. gasp. gasp. gasp. gasp. gasp.

    and the lions like. >8)

  • Lion: Here little antelope, mamma has brought you a meal!

Antelope: Yay for mom! What did you bring me?

    Lion: An antelope!

    Antelope: ....

  • @duckmonsterX Sorry not funny enough to gain likes....

  • @duckmonsterX XD nice!

I wish I can favorite comments

  • @duckmonsterX Lmaooo

  • bitch was vegetarian

  • she wants a baby

  • If you'r not hungry today and have no refrigerator what do you do ? Adopt your "dinner" and eat it later

  • She just wanted a friend.

  • As sensational as some people want this to be, it ain't much of a lesson for humans to learn. The relationship isn't happy, the antelope is scared out of its damn mind and wants to get out of there but the lion is violently holding it there. She means well but doesn't have the capacity to realize how bad it is.

A better lesson than "tolerance" here is that good intentions don't mean you aren't causing harm.

  • @Tomtomchacha so your saying in the world some races are lions and others are antelopes then? The point is that if a predator can so drastically befriend prey (the prey can't communicate so he doesn't know), then why can't humans be friends over something as little as skin color?

  • @cobbfc4life This is a single lion with a really strong maternal desire, which unknowingly or uncaringly torments a baby antelope and essentially dooms it to death at the hands of another lion. Humans exhibit a much stronger capacity for caring than that. This tolerance crap people try to shove down other's throats in these videos is as simple and narrow-minded as people on the other end of the spectrum who are bigots. At least you guys aren't "evil", I still can't stand feel-good stupidity tho.

  • @Tomtomchacha Lions have poorer empathetic understanding towards foreign species because they're natural predators. Humans are also innately quite manipulate and vicious, but can rise above this with acquired information and education.

  • @Tomtomchacha

    Very well stated.

  • Adult Male Lion: "Honey, I'm home!" "What's for supper?"

Female Lioness: "Umm, I don't know?"

Adult Male Lion: "Well, well, well, what do we have here?"

    Female Lioness: "Umm, nothing?"

Adult Male Lion: "Mmmm... is that Antelope? What a suprise? Thanks dear for preserving it for me."

    Female Lioness: "NO!!! DON'T!!!"

Adult Male Lion: "Sorry babe, it's too late." "AHHH... That hit the spot."

    Female Lioness: (runs away crying)

  • i use to wach this show before lost tapes came one

  • the lion has a antelope fetish

  • "What drives these curious creatures to defy the rules of nature?"

    ~ Love.

  • dude the lion just wants it to get big so he can eat it later ;)

  • maybe the lioness was raised by a human being ,like christian the lion

  • the lion will lie down with the lam

    the days are COMING

  • @sukruoosten Well the male lion disagrees and doesn't want the world to end just yet LOL

  • The lioness must have lost her pride when she was young.. doesnt know what the hell its doing (hasn't had the opportunity to learn).. although I'd question how she'd survive that long if that was the case.

  • Awww that's cute, but mom is 0 for 5 in the survival category.

  • LOL sex slave 1:30

  • lol

  • "scientists will never know why this lioness cared for this calf."

I no why, its because of mother instincts.

  • it could be that her baby died inside her belly and she knew she was going to have a cub but it just did not come out and it died i think she got to sad and help less she adpoted it and cared for it like a cub

  • Animal expert: "When a predatory cat does adopt an animal... cos it's happened before"

Narrator: "Kamanyak's story is unheard of"

    Narrators are idiots.

  • for the love of god! that lion has no pride!

  • It's not defying the rules of nature. It's responding to visual cues of the baby antelope's facial and body proportions - the same proportions Disney uses in their designs, because it makes humans go SQUEE and want to hug and take care of them. Well, it's not just humans. Such a response is hardwired into all mammals. In this case, she was probably not too hungry and close to breeding season, so the NURTURE instinct outweighed the EAT instinct. That's the core reason behind all such adoptions.

  • If different species of animals can become friends with each other, then it'd be a great lesson for us humans to become friends with anyone of different races. We need to learn to not be so racist/sexist/etc.

  • @HarrowingWinter im pretty sure humans by percentage get along better with other races than lions do with their most common fucking meal.

  • @Baller027 Right, percentage is not the point. My point was that if some species of animals can get along well with other species, then humans need to be more friendly. Some animals hunt and eat meat, some humans hunt and eat meat, but animals can also be friends with their prey, and us humans can as well.

  • @HarrowingWinter True that :)

  • @HarrowingWinter .. showing these animals have compassion and feelings. I agree there i so much we can learn from the animals. Stop making them our food, we need to protect them as they protect us. We are bigger and have more intellect but we sometimes act like fools, fighting against one another, persecute others based on beliefs, sexual orientation etc .. Go Vegan or at least a vegetarian, your body and soul would love you for it.

  • @HarrowingWinter yes..we should be friends with crocodiles and sharks and bears

  • Comment removed

  • @HarrowingWinter easier said then done

  • @HarrowingWinter i hate comments like this, you make it sound like humans are disgusting beings that hate everyone and other animals are perfect and have it all figured out. but would you say the same about your friends and family? are they terrible human beings that need to learn to stop being so racist/sexist/etc.?

  • @HarrowingWinter But they weren't friends. The Antelope was terrified and tried to get away. The lion probably just had some left over mother instinct, maybe she lost a cub.. This "friendship" is based on pure selfishness by the lion. It needed something, and didn't care if the antelope was happy or not.

The only thing we as humans can learn from this, is that not everyone agrees with you on what is a good time, and what is a good idea to do, and you should show people that respect.

  • @HarrowingWinter that shit is gay!!!!

  • @HarrowingWinter The human race is the nicest and kindiest race on this planet.

  • @Justpooinabush You are ignorant and misguided if you believe that.

  • @SmileyLieutenantDan No other animal is capable of self-deprecation, no animal understands it's wrong doings and upholds laws to stop any such thing happening again such as poaching, killing etc. No other animal spends it's life helping other animals find homes and treat them better and feed them. Yes there may be some sick twisted humans, but look at the majority here, a lion doesn't take pity on the mother it took from a baby zebra, but we recognise that and act agaisn't such acts.

  • @Justpooinabush "no animal understands it's wrong doings" I will keep that in mind when animals are recorded to kick members of their pack out for doing something they don't like.

  • @HybridD91 Ok then, if humans aren't the niceist animals on this planet, then who is? Humans kick their members out of their society when they do something wrong? They put them in Jail, and even go as far to kill those who put that ammount of torture and cruelty on animals and other humans. Nothing compares to the generosity and love humans put into helping other animals, creating homes, nurturing them even though they aren't related and will get nothing out of helping them except for happiness.

  • @Justpooinabush oh and in reagards to the nicest animal: Dolphins

  • @Justpooinabush lololollololololololololololololololololollolololoololollolololololololololololololololololollolololololololololololollolololololololololololololololololoollo Goerge Bush lololololololololololololololololololololololololollo Hitler lolololololololololololololololloolloloololol Walt Disney lloolollolollololololololololololollolololollolollolololololoolloollolol Chuck Norris lollollloloolloololollololololololool

  • @HarrowingWinter but what fun would that be?

  • @HarrowingWinter Ya, we can learn alot from lions, like killing rival cubs.

  • @HarrowingWinter That analogy is dumb. You are comparing predator and prey (2 very different species) with different races of humans (1 species that has reason). Most animals avoid other species, and in some cases hate or eat them. Mutual companionship between races/sexes of humans is FAR MORE COMMON than friendships between unlike animals. Your point is touching, but your reason is awful.

  • This is breaking all the laws of the wild...

  • @TheCostran29 May just be a re-incarnated human ... so they say, when everyone dies, they are re-incarnated as a tapeworm, a fly, a chicken, a dog maybe when you die, you are re-incarnated as a girl? That may explains why some people know so much at a young age, LOL ... they already lived once and are living again with out knowing they already have! uuuuuu weird, true, and freaky....

  • Weird, True, and Freaky ... WTF!!!

  • the lioness must be a vegetarian.

  • Maybe the lion lost her own kid and missed her own cub?

  • that antelope is probably shitting itself

  • I'm not the only one who wtf'd right?

  • was this supposed to be a happy story?

  • They should have named it "Edward Cullen"...

  • Whoever tries to domesticate a wild animal needs education. They are WILD, hence LEAVE them there.

  • allah has nout to do with it!

  • lesbian lion.

  • <3 This lion <3

  • Damn nature, you no scary, no more!

  • Hmm, lets see how many vids there are on here with odd parent/baby relationships. Tiger adopts piglets, cats raising squirrels, lion adopts antelope....wow, scientists, maybe you should watch youtube once in awhile. I grew up with wild animals, I've seen some amazing acts of compassion and companionship.

  • @CoyoteWildFlower

LOL! You are daft! Those youtube clips you see if Tigers/piglets - cats/squirrels are just in domestic and influenced by human domestication. Quit watching those artificial and human influenced clips. If a Tiger in the wild saw a piglet it would eat it. This is true wildlife and not those stupid home-made/zoo clips.

  • Weird True Freaky (WTF)

  • she obviously feels bad for smashing all the antelopes and eating them, i think the male lion kills it because it knows it as good as dead, not being able to return the fawn to its family.

  • letn them get bigger to eat she just smarter than the rest

  • Weird

    True

    Freaky,=WTF?

  • n'aawwwwww :D

  • animals aren't calculating. They care about their next meal, not preparing their meal for months on end.

  • Don't F*** WITH THE KING! MUFASSSAAAAAAAAA

  • this is not true. don't believe a word this guy sais. he fucks at wtf rude.

  • Antelope Fetishes. It's a thing.

  • Incredible!!!

  • lol at 2:36 dog has no legs HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @NTVGAMER123 not even that funny.......

  • I saw something similar to this once where a leopard killed a mother baboon, but then took the baby and raised it as it's own, protecting it from other predators...it was amazing.
