Thing is, it was a smart move to cancel the shuttles. They're outdated and we can do MUCH better with today's technology. I'm personally for Obama but I despise what he did to the space program. To those who accuse us of a binary world, this is your proof of otherwise.
MY, what America can do when she wants to PERFORM! Such a shame that those of us Gen-Xers and beyond are losing our chance to contribute to the space program our parents built.
Get it right Obama did not kill the shuttle program. Bush did, but had a replacement program. Obama killed the replacement. Cause, hey, won't it be cool using the Russians to get US into space? And, ready for it? We get to pay them huge chunks of money to get us there. Won't that be great?
who would build a 1000 sq ft addition to thier home and then abandon it ? Only the US Government under sloppy leadership. It's called the space program- the US spends how much on the shuttle program and the space station??? and then drops the vehicle to go there. Kinda dumb in this taxpayers view. will High speed rail have the same fate- spend 100's of billions $ and then let it go.
When I was a kid I was living in South America (in the 80s,) I remember almost every teacher I had telling and teaching us about NASA and the Space Shuttle. It used to leave our class absolutely amazed!!!, and it was truly inspiring too, it motivated us to study like nothing else could do it. I have been told in conversations with family from there, teachers, and friends, that they hope the studies will continue, learning and studying is beautiful.
" We have been privileged to borrow and fly this beautiful spacecraft Discovery that you have taken such meticulous care of. We look forward to seeing you all again when we land in a couple of days. We also know it will be a sad day for all of us when we leave Discovery for the last time at the SLF"
Fantastic! It gives a real close-up feel for the everyday work these people do up there-repairs, maintenance: even going for walks! Just like at home
I wonder when a program existed to lançadfo air space for new research on human life on earth? I would like to receive in my email response to my email: ompodaci-pessoa@hotmail.com

Technically, it's not complete, even on the USOS. There's still another ELC to be installed as an element. ELC-3 goes on the Upper P3 Truss.

Technically it's only the ESA/NASA/JAXA half that's complete.
The Russian half still has a large module, Nauka, to be added. It's supposed to come up next year.

You see government has no pride of ownership.
Would you spend 10,000 on your car and junk it?
