you just have to love the people who make comments like AMD suck because it started smoking when the heatsink was removed. this whole AMD Vs. Intel thing is just another fanboy wank war, if you don't buy the best thing that suits your needs according to its specs and supporting hardware regardless of brand then you are a retard and it is likely to go up in smoke whether it is intel or AMD
To all you haters AMD truly does Suck My brother Has a AMD Turion X2 That thing Sucks Ass
The fact that its a laptop makes it even worse He had to buy a separate Cooling pad and even with that, the shit Crashes time to time If he even thinks of playing games he has to do it on low other wise he doesn't Do it long Until the machine crashes. SO fuck AMD Go for Intel.
@Hotfiredjs Nope its not the best But not the worse, its decent Only thing that suck Balls is the fact that it has an AMD Pross. My other bros Laptop is much weaker by the specs and cant really Run newer games but does not crash just laggs
a few of my friends who had an AMD say that Intel is way better.
Guys these are all OLD processors amd and intel both automatically close down the whole system if it doesnt get sufficient cooling but to all the people who say "oh now I'm not getting amd cuz it melt zzz" when are u EVER going to remove the heat sync while in operation u gotta be just down right retarded and shouldn't even own a computer :/
@PwrXenon The main issue is if your the fan on the heatsink fails (as happened to one of my friends). Luckily he had a Pentium 4, so it'd just run for a few minutes and then the system would freeze. The CPU still works totally fine.
AMD Processors fail because they don't have stepping down technology that slows them down to reduce heat output when they get too hot. Intel CPU's do it 'Like a Boss!'
@SovietMan1000 This was done on purpose and with waayyy older boards that didn't have the "safeties" that modern boards have. Even if their boards had the protections, they were probably disabled for the video
@jimmypc4242 No, thermal protection is built in to the CPU, but at that time amd with their original athlon architecture didnt implement such a protection. witch intel had.
thats why the Amd Processors go up in smoke, and the intels survive,
but in a later video where the amd processors have implemented thermal protection, they survive too along with the Pentium 4
this is stupid because anyone can be dumb enough not to cool it right and how do i know this guy isnt showing the intel cpu right as he plugs it in. or maby this guy is a retard and doesnt know how to cool the cpu " the correct way".
You all knows that all motherboards have built in safetys to shut down if cpu is overheated. And yeah.. This vid is 6 years old.. And I've owned amd whole my life and something like this never happened. Fan broke once and mb didnt start then. Peace of ass test.
Considering CPUs aren't supposed to be run without heatsink and fan, this is a poor judge of whether intel out performs amd.
I believe intel to be better than amd performance wise based on overclocking ability and processing power. But if you want a better deal for your money amd is fine for everyday use. My cheap build, using an amd phenom ii 955 runs at 28C idle and around 44C when running a heavy (non-overclocking) work load with an aftermarket heatsink and fan.
when i was kid i whatched this video i got it on flop drive but i last it and i hadnot watch this video 10 years like but when i found it on youtube i was verey happy nice video
some one should do this with a pentium d prescott.you will get 200 degrees followed by smoke.but about this....you dont need a stove anymore just put a frying pan and a some thermal paste on the cpu
Nobody is going to be using their PC out in the open in Antarctica or in the fucking Sahara without some form of cooling. The likelihood that the processor will ever reach the temperatures above is close to zero. AMD, you buy cheap, and you get cheap. Their processors suck hardcore. Their stupid fanboys are always like "6 processors!!!ONE11!!", when Intel's new series are hyper-threaded, simulating 8. I'd hock the extra 50-100 dollars just for that insane boost in speed.
@tibbsingh You only guess? Well I know these tests are rigged. Here's what I think; The BIOS Thermal Protection seems to have been turned off on the AMD systems. The Athlon 1400 didn't have integrated thermal protection but the Palomino did and it shouldn't have fryed unless they turned it off on both Processor and Mobo.. they even seem to have used to much thermal grease for smoking effects and not a dab on the Pentiums
@tibbsingh The Pentiums were set to throttle down at 29º & 38ºC which are cool, normal operation temperatures so that's unrealistic and meant for dummies. Intel is known for strong-hand and monopolistic tactics, so either this video reflects that, or some Intel freak made it... I wouldn't take these tests as based on facts. I think intel would resort to more intelligent tactics than this pathetic attempt to single handedly revert AMD's increasing popularity.
Jeez calm down, just because Intel processors have a under clocking feature to be used in an overheat doesn't make Maily a Intel hater. Besides this is from Tom's Hardware, if I remember correctly they actually gave a review to Intel that delayed the launch of a brand new chip.
Oh and no wonder it works better than an Intel if it has 6 cores (judging by the way you type you didn't bother checking it against an Intel of the same power (or price))
@davy13682 And you know what? Fudge you both guys. I've got an i5 CPU and an ATI graphics card. Ohoho, I'm such a bad guy now because I don't belong to any of you fangirls.
@mystuff3040 Intel and amd both make respectable cpus. Go check out some benchmarks and i'm sure amd's 1090t stands pretty well among i7's. Some ppl just prefer amd for the pricing or maybe just to try out something different.
Imo intel is overpriced. Yes, the most expensive intel cpu's are WAYYYYY better than AMD's, but I'm on a budget. I made myself a budget gaming computer with a Nvidea GTX460 1GB ($150), 3GB RAM (???), and a AMD Phenom II X4 @ 3.2 Ghz ($99). The nearest comparable intel cpu I could find was over $180-$200. I don't really care if my AMD cpu would burn if I took the heatsink off, because I'm not going to. Its running at 44 C (110 F) at the time I wrote this.
@11matt555 totally agree. we actually have an intel plant in Ireland where im from. it employs well over 2000 people. most of these are IT and business graduates. their factory in Leixlip in Kildare churns out all the core i processors. but yeah they are really expensive especially in a recession (with possibly another recession on the way)
@AETutorials42 wtf are you talking about? I know my ram is a little low but thats because i had gotten a really cheap computer for like $300 and just upgraded parts of it. It only came with a 32 bit OS and 3Gb of ram, which at the time I bought it was plenty. but wtf are you talking about my cpu bottlenecking my gpu? You realize that its a quad core right? It doesnt take a 6 core or 8 core CPU to run most games on max. I run GTA 4 at max at 25-32 FPS, and any other game at 30+ FPS.
Dude, don't bullshit here. 3GB of RAM and a GTX 460 will NOT run GTA IV on max with those framerates. I know this because my friend has a GTX 460, 4GB of RAM, and a processor similar to yours, and he can't max it out with frame rates over 20. And yeah, you are bottlenecking, because everyone knows that AMD and Nvidia are NOT a good combination.
@AETutorials42 do you want me to get my freakin webcam out and record me playing gta4 to prove it to you? (Recording with fraps lags unless I turn the graphics down) And honestly, even if my system is bottleknecked, its not worth forking out several hundred dollars more for a intel cpu, a new mobo (to fit a intel cpu), new/more ram, (to fit the new mobo) just to get a few more fps. Do you not understand what "Budget" means?
That's $125 extra, not "several hundred dollars" more. You don't need a new fucking motherboard for an Intel chip, just get a P67 and you can have either or. And RAM is cheap compared to the rest of the computer's parts. It's not just games either, it's overall performance.
@AETutorials42 Have you listened to a thing I said? I BOUGHT A COMPUTER FOR $300. It was a crappy compaq computer. I bought it because I didnt have enough money to buy all the parts to build a computer separately, even though it would have been better in the long run. I had to have a computer for schoolwork and such. I simply replaced the GPU, CPU, and PSU over a period of time. I would need a new mobo to get an intel cpu because the one it came with is AM2+.
Not my fucking problem you bought some POS Compaq. Maybe if you banked up a few more dollars, you wouldn't have to worry. BTW - Asus P67 = $150. Instead of going out and buying a Dell Inspiron and then upgrading that over time, just save the cash and overhaul whatever you have now.
@AETutorials42 I told you, i needed a computer for school to do schoolwork on and didn't have enough money to buy anything over $300. I already have it upgraded as far as I can, but I don't have any performance problems, as I said GTA4 max 25-32 fps. When new games coming out begin to lag at or below medium settings then I'll consider overhauling it. Btw, I ran the Nvidia supersonic sled thing you put on your channel and my GTX460 still managed a solid 30-60 FPS on it.
Yeah, I believe that, with a small amount of particles on. But even then, I'm going on reasonable doubt. If you told me you had medium to high particles on, you'd need a video to back that one up .
You were getting under 25 FPS for the greater part of the video, not 25-32.. and besides, that's not exactly considered "playable" in most people's books. I would rather play a game than a slideshow.
@AETutorials42 I usually play on 50 view distance and get 30+ fps. I put it up to 100 view distance for the purpose of the video. I don't know anyone who would refuse to play a game at 25 FPS. It's not exceptionally high FPS, but it's FAR from a slideshow. I'm tired of arguing with you. You are obviously one of those rich pricks who buys the most expensive high end tech out there and then calls anything below 60 FPS lag. Anything above 25 looks fine to me, and I see no dif between 30 and 60 FPS.
@Kosba2 the thing about this test is that being able to withstand high temperatures is a great quality to have when overclocking. which means that intel would be more stable when overclocked
I'm an AMD user and one of the things I find is that the AMD chip has been in the past a very very good Gaming CPU but there is no argument about which brand was better at dealing with heating. Modern AMD CPUs have fixed that issue (to my knowledge) now. I watched a video once where they CPU exploded into many parts. (video may have been fake)
I wonder why the Board doesn't turn off. I know, that CPU's (at least the more modern ones) have temperature sensors inside forcing the PC to turn off in case of overheat. Had the case at home, when the heatsink wasn't attached properly. PC always turned of after a few seconds.
@mohdraef Are you high? You've obviously never used Sandy Bridge i7, or i7 extreme's. Dear goodness, that's like saying a Volvo is better than a Ferrari.
@sseutn818 The Intel CPU measures its FUTURE projected heat dissipation and realizes that the heatsink has been removed. Stocks for AMD are hella cheap now if that's where you want to put your bet.
Problems:
No surface control of proc. (discrepancies in layer of grease)
-Changes surface emissivity (affecting temperature reading)
-Changes exposed area exposed to natural convection (more area=higher heat transfer=less smoke)
Types of heat sinks are of different design:
- Intel procs.had more expensive and higher performing heat sinks attached
As far as failure is concerned, the Intel procs. are redundantly designed with overheating prevention, AMD designed for normal cooling conditions.

11matt555 5 months ago
@11matt555
AETutorials42 5 months ago
@AETutorials42 I told you, i needed a computer for school to do schoolwork on and didn't have enough money to buy anything over $300. I already have it upgraded as far as I can, but I don't have any performance problems, as I said GTA4 max 25-32 fps. When new games coming out begin to lag at or below medium settings then I'll consider overhauling it. Btw, I ran the Nvidia supersonic sled thing you put on your channel and my GTX460 still managed a solid 30-60 FPS on it.
11matt555 5 months ago
@11matt555
Yeah, I believe that, with a small amount of particles on. But even then, I'm going on reasonable doubt. If you told me you had medium to high particles on, you'd need a video to back that one up .
AETutorials42 5 months ago
@AETutorials42 youtube.com/watch?v=OZ_82lmRMnQ Theres your video to back it up. Its still processing at the time of typing this.
11matt555 5 months ago
@11matt555
You were getting under 25 FPS for the greater part of the video, not 25-32.. and besides, that's not exactly considered "playable" in most people's books. I would rather play a game than a slideshow.
AETutorials42 5 months ago
@AETutorials42 I usually play on 50 view distance and get 30+ fps. I put it up to 100 view distance for the purpose of the video. I don't know anyone who would refuse to play a game at 25 FPS. It's not exceptionally high FPS, but it's FAR from a slideshow. I'm tired of arguing with you. You are obviously one of those rich pricks who buys the most expensive high end tech out there and then calls anything below 60 FPS lag. Anything above 25 looks fine to me, and I see no dif between 30 and 60 FPS.

@11matt555
Lmfao, I'm far from rich, but I'm also not an idiot when it comes to money, if I have to save to get something better, I will.

pathetic ? what is pathetic about not liking a video ? (i voted up)
im just speaking in the name of AMD users.. i have a AMD 6 core myself and i NEVER have any trouble with it.
BTW: if you are not an idiot and you let your cooler stay where it BELONGS, you wont have any trouble with ANY CPU.

AMD/ATI offers more performance over a tiny amount of time.
Intel is more reliable and worth buying.
ICEGTN 7 months ago
Except who is gonna remove their heatsink... I'm an intel user and I find this a stupid way to compare these >_>
Kosba2 7 months ago
@Kosba2 the thing about this test is that being able to withstand high temperatures is a great quality to have when overclocking. which means that intel would be more stable when overclocked
yesssigotmail 7 months ago
AMD Gives you performance till it smokes up. ;)

TheMrbum 7 months ago
I wonder why the Board doesn't turn off. I know, that CPU's (at least the more modern ones) have temperature sensors inside forcing the PC to turn off in case of overheat. Had the case at home, when the heatsink wasn't attached properly. PC always turned of after a few seconds.

Intel processors will throttle down to a slower speed if the heat sink is removed. However, it's not recommended to do this while the power is on.

@dragonx20091 Such a shame you can't throw the banhammer at illiterates.

I can see that Intel's CPU can't function at 38°C, and AMD's CPU keeps its shape at 370°C!!
sseutn818 9 months ago 32
@sseutn818 what?
YoutuJ3eJ3lows 7 months ago
@sseutn818 My intel Pentium 4 550J has 22 fps in AC:B at 105°C(1GB RAM, 1GB GPU). Intel is still the best.
andyyube 7 months ago
@sseutn818 The Intel CPU measures its FUTURE projected heat dissipation and realizes that the heatsink has been removed. Stocks for AMD are hella cheap now if that's where you want to put your bet.
ubentu 6 months ago
@sseutn818 how is going up in smoke, keeping its shape?

Kinda new result, Intel cpu stay strong much longer than AMD this is the main reason, I owned 3 AMD over the years all slowed down after few mounth.
All that says otherwise just cant afford good cpu`s :D and yes same goes for the cheap radeon cards its also crap.
