Hm, ... i have 18576 Point, with XFX 9800GTX+ with 820 mhz Chip, and Corei5 with 4x 3,5 GHZ. Hm, only 1500 Points more for double Power Supply, and much money. Bad Idea .

That is a great score matey!! my best is 16,737 with similar set-up cpu only at 3.0 ghz though and cards at 790mhz cc and 1187mhz mc

yup, 3dmark06 is VERY cpu dependant. Your score will sky rocket if you increase the cpu speed.

Yea C2D have incredibly high CPU score marks, almost as much as a quad.

now would super pi be a good judge of how hot it should get or should i actually play a game, say, farcry 2 for a good 10 minutes to get the heat up.

play games. You should only worry about applications your running. So if you play fc2 for an hour, and it doesnt go over 60, then your fine.

ah, because i have an evga 780i motherboard and two gigs of corsair 1066ram at 1066. the 780 boards apparently auto set the needed voltages to the cpu / ram when overclocked. its at 3.2 right now and the voltage is 1.41v the cpu idles at 33c (the cores idle at between 35 - 40c idle) think maybe i should try 3.4 on air cool?

ye go for 3.4. Start to worry when your going over 60 c on load, thats when you need a better cooler or water.

its a matter of increasing voltages and whether or not the cpu/ram can handle it. I have mine watercooled.

i live in the uk and there about 200 pounds off ebay but the thing is i need 2 gfx cars because iam gonna be running 4 screens 1x37 hd and 3x22 so got no other coice would like 2 280 gtx but 2 much money and have not got 2 8 pins on my thermaltake 850w psu

lol okay well go for 9800gtx sli. its still good, and sli really scales well in games. Dont listen to other people. SLI rocks.

i know i just want 2 be able 2 run crysis at 1680x1050 on very high with 4x aa or 2 aa and get about 40 fps is that do-able ?

oh lol do you rember what kind off fps you got on crysis at 1680x1050 if u used that res ? atm iam scoring 15k on 3d mark 06 and my gfx is at 840/2134/2600

well crysis is tough. it depends on your settings. My advice to you. Don't bother with sli. Go get a gtx 280 or gtx 285. Faster than 9800gtx sli, trust me. What country do you live in and how much are the cards there? Im in canada, gtx 280 you get for about 380 now, they really dropped.

i cant even get to 3.6 anymore......for unknown reasons. But i am running mine at 3.2 for the last couple weeks and its been stable. Ill let you know the voltages and that later.

mine has a tendancey to do that was running at 3.2 but the it just wouldnt boot and had 2 go down too 2gb ram and 3.0 ghz dont know why is it to do with vista ?

It could be vista. Also this mobo doesn't like having all 4 ram slots filled when overclocking. Right now i have a 2x2gb, so 2 slots are empty. Now I got a gtx 285 and those 9800gtx were long gone from my rig lol. Dont even have the same case in that video.
